Giveaway! Win a Free Canvas Print from Canvas Factory!

Share It:

We have lived in our home for 4 years and yet we had never displayed a family portrait. The reason? We never had one taken!  So I was excited when a year ago, my friend offered to take one for us. It happily sat in my computer for the next year. I wanted to display it but didn't want to just stick it in a frame. When Canvas Factory contacted me, I couldn't have been happier. A canvas print of my family portrait is exactly what I had in mind!

The process of ordering my print was easy and I loved how user friendly it is. They walk you through the process step by step and even let you know if the image resolution will create a good print!

My print came quickly and it is gorgeous!  The colors are so vibrant and the details weren't lost as I have seen happen with other canvas prints.  Jim and the girls love it and so do I.

You know I love to share my favorite products with my readers and I'm stoked to be able to offer 1 lucky reader a free 16"x 20" print!  Your favorite picture can become a focal point in your home with a beautiful Canvas Factory canvas print!  Enter below and good luck!

Giveaway! Signs by Andrea Custom Art!

Share It:
Yesterday I showed you the artwork I designed using the Custom Family Rules design service by Signs By Andrea.  It was so fun and so easy to do! I had a blast trying all different combinations of colors, fonts, and wording. I used some of the rules Andrea provides and I also wrote some of my own.

The service is beyond easy and user friendly which I appreciate.  The finished design is emailed to you in different formats depending on how you plan on using your design. You can send it to a printing service to be processed or you can print it out yourself. I did both because I couldn't wait until my print came from the printer!

Now this is the best part. Andrea has generously offered 1 Free Custom Family Rules Download to one reader!  What a fun way to add something new to your decor! And for free! Bonus!

TO ENTER:

Go to the Custom Family Rules Artwork builder and build your own custom family rules.  Comment here telling which design is your favorite. (1 entry)
Become a follower of Days of Chalk and Chocolate (1 entry)
Follow Signs by Andrea on Facebook (1 entry)
and finally, blog, tweet, pin, or FB about this giveaway for another entry!

I'll announce a random winner on December 10th!

Thank you, Signs By Andrea, for participating in the giveaway!

Creating Custom Art: Signs by Andrea

Share It:
I love love love all the typography art that is so popular now and I especially love the ones that inspire us.  I  adore the idea of having something in our home that describes how we like to live and reminds us of our values as a family.  That's why I was so excited when Andrea from Signs by Andrea contacted me, wondering if I'd like to try out her downloadable custom family rules art service. Would I?  Oh yeah!

This is what  I came up with. I had so much fun creating it using the easy process on the Signs by Andrea website because I could choose my background color, font, font color, and the rules I wanted. Andrea has prewritten rule options I could use or I could write my own. I used both methods and I am so happy with how it turned out.  It was so easy!

Once the rules are completed you receive it as a file which you can print out or send to a printing service. I sent mine to Shutterfly to get printed in a large size but I couldn't wait and printed it out using my printer so I could hang it up right away.

I already decided that I'm going to use Signs by Andrea again when I go back to teaching in a classroom. So many of these rules are applicable there too!

Check back tomorrow when YOU have the chance to win a Free Custom Family Rules Download!!

Cheers!

Shabby Apple--Last Day!

Share It:
Today is the last day to enter the Shabby Apple giveaway! You can win this beautiful Tiber dress!  Enter here!  I'll announce the winner tomorrow.

Well, I knew it was bound to happen but I didn't know how bad it would be. My sweet, adorable, roly poly Ellie has morphed into a stubborn, whiny, tantrum-throwing toddler. I know it's the way of the world and how it's supposed to be but I still had to fight the urge to curl up into the fetal position all day.

I registered Molly for kindergarten today and I'm so excited.  I have never been a huge advocate of full-day kindergarten but this girl needs it so I'm glad she'll have it.   Molly missed the age cut off by 30 days for entering kindergarten  this year so she's been 5 since October. She is always asking me about letter sounds and is so interested in how things work. Her little mind is always going and I know she'll do so well.

Which now means I have another decision to make. Do I go back to work full time?  Some days I want to, I miss it,  I wish for a classroom again. But then other days I love being able to take the girls to the park in the middle of the day or to eat lunch all together.  I'm not a superb stay-at-home mom but I also value this time I get to spend with them.  We'll see, I guess!

Cheers!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!--Shabby Apple, Decorating, Christmas Idea

Share It:
So as promised I am announcing the winner of the gorgeous black Boogie Woogie dress from Shabby Apple!

The winner is lucky #42!

Congratulations to tmc480 who said...

I'm going to email you! I hope you enjoy your new dress!  Thank you to everyone who entered!  I was so excited to be able to offer the giveaway!

So Jim and I move very very very slowly. We moved in the week before Halloween and all my pictures are still in boxes. Most of my pretty china, my living room accessories, and I have yet to hang curtains in almost all the rooms. ACK!  So I started doing a few things here and there and now I'm anxious to get going on the rest of the house.

I scored this lamp at Home Goods for $25. I love it. Jim thinks it's weird. But I have such traditional tastes that I felt like my living room was more like my grandma's so I wanted a little more contemporary style. The shade is a beautiful peacock in real life!  It was a little short so I stuck some books under it and now it's the perfect height.

And I want to do 6 ft bead board in the breakfast nook of our kitchen sometime this fall. But until then I hung some plates. The black ones I bought in an antique store years ago and the other two toile ones were from Home Goods.  I didn't think I'd like all the black against the dark brown but I really do!

And Jim is still getting into the decorating scene too. Remember his window coverings?  Well, look at this picture and guess what element he added.

Love this PB knock off ornament.  You know how I love me some PBKO.

It's Overflowing

Cheers!

I was so tickled when I was contacted by Shabby Apple!  I adore their women's and children's dresses and I am so pleased to be able to offer one of my favorites to a lucky winner!  One of my readers will win this beautiful black Boogie Woogie dress!

Shabby Apple:  "We decided to pair two things we love—the soft, cotton jersey of our favorite t-shirt,
and the gorgeous sateen of our Jazz Age collection—to create the Boogie Woogie,
an indispensably comfortable-yet-elegant little black dress.
A luxe jersey cap sleeve top is gathered at the waist with a wide satin sash,
and a veritable bouquet of appliquéd, ruched flowers and leaves
adorns the full sateen skirt that swirls just below your knee. "

I fell in love with the soft romantic skirt with the sweet ruffle flowers that are so popular right now!  Wouldn't this be wonderful to wear to a party?

Shabby Apple is the best at taking vintage styles and making them new and fresh. Here are some of my favorite examples of their vintage inspired dresses:

I love this white party dress with grosgrain ribbon belt.

Are you like me?  Do you take your camera everywhere, take pictures of everything, and then leave the pictures  sitting on your computer?  I always have the best intentions. I think I'm going to get prints made and organize them neatly into albums with labels, dates, cute little embellishments, etc. Do I? Nope. So I was THRILLED when I was contacted by My Memories, a digital scrapbook service. I had no idea something like this even existed!  After using the software I was stoked to say the least...My Memories is the answer to my picture problem.

What is a  digital scrapbook? Check out my pics below to see!

I downloaded the My Memories Suite Scrapbook from the website first. That took a little time but I just checked my email while it magically did whatever it needed to do.  Then I got started making my scrapbook pages. I started off by using the My Memories template pages that are pre-designed and ready to be filled with pictures. I chose my templates from a large variety available, put the pre-designed pages in the order I wanted them, and then I just uploaded my pictures. It really couldn't have been easier! You can crop the photos, clean them up a bit, add embelishments, add extra pictures to a page, delete spaces, alter sizes, really anything you want.

I tried getting a little creative too and I set up my own design for the page instead of using the templates. It was such fun!

After making the album pages, I was able to create a slide show, add music, share the album, print it, and so much more.  I also appreciated that you can make your albums into greeting cards, calendars, and other gift ideas!   Overall I really enjoy this product and I can't wait to explore it even more for Christmas presents for the aunts/uncles/grandparents!

My Memories is offering  a special deal for all of my readers to receive a $10 discount off the purchase of the My Memories Suite Scrapbook software and a $10 coupon for the MyMemories.com store!  Just go to http://www.mymemories.com/digital_scrapbooking_software and enter code STMMMS23984

But that's not all!  My Memories is offering a copy of their digitial suite scrapbook software to one lucky winner!

How to enter:

The winner will be selected by Random.org and will be announced on November 22. Good luck!
