Fun Halloween Background + Video

Halloween!  What fond memories - from my childhood and when Lauren was little we threw the funnest Halloween parties, complete with games and trick or treating.  Last night, Lauren told me that Louisa is going to be a skunk this year.  I'll have to see if I can put together a skunk Halloween card!

These critters aren't skunks, but they are adorable!  I had a lot of fun coloring them.  The mummy rabbit is so cute!

The background on this card is really cool!  It's basic distress ink blending with a layer of microfine warm highlights glitter on top.  I've got a video showing this technique and a few tips along the way.

Here's the video:

With Lauren getting Louisa's skunk costume from Pottery Barn Kids, I don't have to make a Halloween costume this year.  I wouldn't mind making one, but I'm kind of glad that's one thing to cross off my list.  What are your Halloween plans this year?

Thank you for stopping by!

Spooktacular Image from Nicecrane Designs

No, this little girl is certainly not a Halloween image.  However, I wanted her to be one!  I was first attracted to this image because of the black cats - I have a black kitty of my own.  So, through stamp magic (in this case, stars and a bat) I turned her into a little girl getting ready for Halloween.  Works for me!  She is one of the Incredible Agnes Richardson set from Nicecrane Designs.

I also had some fun with a new stencil and paint.  I took advantage of her pink dress and used pink and orange acrylic paint to create the paper behind her.

The pumpkins were created by stamping and die cutting the pumpkins.  The leaves and swirlies are actually cut from a different die cut.  (Links below).

Here's a look at the complete Incredible Agnes Richardson set (ALL the images are adorable):

So fun to be making a Halloween card - I LOVE Halloween!  So glad you stopped by...

Fright Night for TCC

I have to tell you, I love these photo/journal frames that Regina has added to The Cutting Cafe.   These would be darling for Project Life, a Halloween mini book or for cards.

I used the Costume frame from the Halloween Photo/Journal Frames and the Halloween Hershey Kiss Bottoms on this sweet little card.

Regina will post the DT projects on The Cutting Cafe Blog on Wednesday.  Stop by and check out the giveaway and specials, too.  So glad you stopped by here.  Have a great week!

Happy Halloween and a Fun Surprise!

Happy Halloween everyone!  Hope you have a good one.  Here are a couple of cards I haven't posted yet.  On this first card, I got to practice with my Copic markers.
That sweet little witch image was awfully fun to color.   I'm still such a novice though and I don't practice nearly enough!
And, of course, I love the vintage image on this one.
She's trying to blow out the candle with only one puff.  'Cause that's the best fortune, of course!

And now before I forget, Regina has a great giveaway going on at The Cutting Cafe.  There are three sets available for free right now through Wednesday, November 2nd at midnight.  The three sets are a December Word Daily Book, a Christmas tree book and December Daily numbers.  They are fabulous sets and they are free!  Be sure to check it out.

I just got a fun surprise!  Over at I Gotta Create, Christina is highlighting the Bewitching Crafts winners.   I'm honored to be one of them!   Thank you to all of you who voted for my Halloween Countdown!  Happy Halloween!
