CSCS cards
Blue Skilled Worker
For those who have achieved an NVQ or SVQ level 2, an apprenticeship or other approved qualifications.
Professionally Qualified Person
Available to competence-assessed members of CSCS-approved professional bodies.
Supervisory
Available for supervisor and technical occupations where an NVQ or SVQ Level 3 or 4 has been achieved.
Apprentice
Issued free of charge to those registered onto a recognised construction-related apprenticeship.
Manager
Available for managerial and technical occupations where an NVQ or SVQ Level 4, 5, 6 or 7 has been achieved.
Academically Qualified Person
For those with certain construction related degrees, HNDs, HNCs, CIOB Certificates and NEBOSH diplomas.
Gold Skilled Worker
For those who have achieved an NVQ or SVQ level 3, an apprenticeship or other industry approved qualifications.
Experienced Worker
A temporary card for trade related site workers with on the job experience registered to complete a qualification.
Experienced Technical, Supervisor or Manager
A temporary card for trade related site workers with on the job experience.
Trainee
A temporary card for Trainees. Validity of the card varies, depending on the qualification.
Industry Placement
A temporary card for those undergoing a qualification requiring a minimum 30 days work placement.
Provisional
A tempoary card for those working through probationary periods while employers assess their suitability.
CITB Health, safety and environment test
To apply for a CSCS card you must pass the appropriate level of CITB Health, safety and environment test.
CSCS Smart Check
The CSCS Smart Check API can be built into existing site systems, while it can also be used as a mobile app or via CSCSSmartCheck.co.uk.
Labourer cards
The Labourer card is valid for two years on first application, with workers who continue as labourers able to renew for five years.
