East County News ServiceJuly 30, 2024 (Escondido) -- Patio Playhouse Community Theater will present its second annual Back to School Talent Bash, September 28th, under the stars at Kit Carson Park Amphitheater 100 Amphitheater Dr, Escondido, CA 92025.
Patio Playhouse will be presenting a special Back to School Talent show September 28th at 7 p.m. Youth 5 - 19 years of age are invited to participate. Talents may include (but not limited to) singing, dancing, instrumental music, skits, magic, comedy, martial arts, juggling, (no lip syncing). Cash prizes will be given for the 1st ($200), 2nd ($150), and 3rd place ($100) winners.
Rules:
There is to be no harassment, bullying or intimidation of other acts. Acts that do so will immediately be disqualified
Students who are part of a group act should indicate what group they are in on their submission
Forms.
Each member of a group must pay the entry fee and all members are expected to equally share in prize winnings
Recommended length is 3 minutes; acts must be no more than 5 minutes.
In all cases, decisions of the judges are final and will not be open to discussion.
Absolutely no profanity or insensitive subject matter will be permitted.
Costumes must be appropriate for all age groups. This is a community event.
Acts are responsible for their own props and costumes.
All performances will be screened for appropriateness by the Talent Show Committee.
If your act requires recorded accompanying music, the music must be: provided to the Talent
Show Committee.
It is the participant’s responsibility to get the accompanying music back after the show and retrieve
all costumes, props and other personal belongings after the show.
Acts with any member under 18 must have a written consent from parents for each of the
Members.
All acts will be required to attend a preliminary run through Friday the 22nd at 6pm at Kit Carson Amphitheater.
All acts will be required to arrive at 6pm the evening of the performances for necessary mic checks etc.
