Crock Pot French Onion Soup

- Soup shopping list
- 3 large onions, slice shopping list
- 3 Tbl butter, melted shopping list
- 3 Tbl flour shopping list
- 1 Tbl worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 tsp sugar shopping list
- 1/4 tsp pepper shopping list
- 4 14 1/2 ounce cans oc beef broth shopping list
- (1/4 cup red wine, brandy or ale can be added as well) shopping list
- Cheesy Broiled French bread shopping list
- 8 slices French bread 1 inch thick shopping list
- 3/4 C shredded mozzarella shopping list
- 2 Tbl shredded or grated Parmesan shopping list
How to make it
- Mix onions and butter in a 3 1/2 to 6 Qt slow cooker
- Cover and cook on high1 to 3 hours or until onions begin to brown slightly around the edges (it depends on your crock pot)
- whisk flour,Worcestershire, sugar and pepper
- Stir flour mixture and broth into onions
- cover and cook on low heat 7 to 9 hours or until onions are very tender
- Make Cheesy Broiled Bread and place 1 slice on each bowl of soup
- Set oven to broil
- Place bread slices on rack in broiler pan
- Sprinkle with cheeses
- Broil about 5 to 6 ' from heat about 3 minutes or until cheese is melted

This is my favorite soup. I've never made it in the crock pot but it makes perfect sense, I'll bet the onions just taste amazing. Thanks for the great post!
