Art is My Place… - Prima Art Recipe

Hello,
today I have for you new project for April Prima Art Recipe.
Our theme this month was "Attic Findings" and the main products - Patina Effect Pastes + Mechanicals.

I really love creating my mixed media projects on wooden substrates. I can go crazy with paints and various media and nothing bad happens with my base. This time I chose a plywood butterfly. For a project like this, you can really use so many things. These may be some flea market trinkets, "attic findings" like old, broken jewelry, watches or watch parts, buttons, or any pretty trinkets that grab your attention. Surely each of you will find something like this at home :)

First, I glued all embellishments with Heavy Body Gel. I mostly used the new Mechanicals - Vintage Snowflakes, Winter Trinkets and Lotus flower. I also added some Art Stones and Mini Art Stones - they make every project have this unique vintage character.

After all things were added, it was time to use Patina Effect Paste. The effect is just amazing! We can easily transform any object into an item that looks as if it was found at the attic or sunk for long years in the sea.

To soften my butterfly a bit, I used Heavy White Gesso. I used a dry brush and a very small amount of gesso, only to highlight the details, not paint them. I'm not a fan of saturated greens, so now the results looks much more satisfying for me. Finally, I added clear Art Pebbles and a little bit of Glitter to this beautiful Lotus flower.

Prima Products: Patina Effect Paste 964351; Art Basics: Heavy White Gesso 961374, Modeling Paste 961350, Soft Matte Gel 961428, Super Heavy Gel 963040; Mechanicals: Metal Lotus 964382, Winter Trinkets 964405, Vintage Snowflakes 964399, Bottle Caps 960391; Art Ingredients: Glitter Set - Luminous 961596, Glitter Set - Abloom 961619, Mini Art Stones 963712, Art Stones 963705, Mélange Art Pebbles 963323, Ingvild Bolme - Street Signs 892166

Round Love - on-line class with Finnabair

Hello!
Today I have for you a very special project.

For many years I dreamed of taking part in Finnabair classes. So far I haven't had the opportunity, but my dreams are still the same.

And now, thanks to Finnabair and Everything Art, we all have the chance to try on-line classes! This is amazing occasion to meet Anna "eye to eye", in our home, our craftroom, and experience very exciting journey.

I highly recommend IMAGINE class to everyone.
Both beginners and experienced will find something for them. You'll create a complete project, learn many tips and tricks and spend a wonderful, creative time.

And this is my interpretation of Finnabair's project.
I used small round canvas and almost everything I had on my desk… ;)

Everyone has a story - mixed media canvas for Finnabair CT

Hello, this is my new project for Finnabair Creative Team.

This time I set off feeling like making something with a fresh, modern feel, using strong, bright colors. And as you will see in the video below, it started quite well. But at some point my work somehow turned into a path called "vintage". ;) I think it's all because of these amazing Vintage Collectibles Ephemera pictures, I love to work with them! They look so authentic, I always have the feeling that I create projects using real family photos.

In this project, I used some recycled stuff. First of all, I took leftovers from chipboards and made a background. And then it was enough to add colors with Mica Powders and Art Alchemy paints, and I was able to create a glamorous, rich background.

I also found in my junk box some transparent plastic circles. I stamped them with some Vintage Vanity 'Book' text stamp. You have to use permanent ink for that, e.g. StazOn ink. It works great on smooth surfaces. I encourage you to come up with and make your own embellishments - they will be unique and add a very personal touch to your artworks.

You know how much I love layers. So also in this project I couldn't resist and I created a dimensional, 'piled up' composition. I used papers and add-ons from 7 Dots Studio. All separated with pieces of cardboard. I don't like to use foam tape - as I use the heat tool all the time, when in contact with high temperature, the foam tape tends to fall off.

I'd like to encourage you to reach for the photos that truly speak to you. Each of them carries an inspiring story which makes it so easy to make a special art piece and adds a unique charm to your creations.

Please enjoy my video and if you have any questions, don't hesistate to ask.

Imagine Your Life - mixed media banner with video tutorial for Finnnabair Creative Team

Hello friends in the New Year!
As many of you, I too have my terms, dreams and goals to achieve. But this time I'm going to go after what I want, instead of waiting. I think this is the perfect plan. Keep fingers crossed!

For a good start, I made this mixed media banner for Finnabair Creative Team.

This is a second part of my bigger project, the first banner you can see here - Create Yourself.

That is going to be my motivator, a driving force to action. Maybe you will feel inspired to create your own one, too.

I used a lot of Mechanicals metal embellishments, some pieces from Prima moulds and crystals. Even though my banner is not large, I wanted to create a feeling of rich texture and deep space.

I believe a little bit of Glliter is always a good idea. :)
Once I arranged my composition, I covered it all with Heavy White Gesso to achieve a mysterious, foggy effect. It also beautifully highlighted all the details and "softened" the glitter effect.

As for the color effects, I used Mica Powders that are such an amazing and versatile product! You can make your own pastes, paints and mists simply mixing in these magical powders - just imagine the possibilities… Or you can also simply sprinkle the surface with this shiny product and spray it with water. That's what I did here and I got some really beautiful color transitions.

I made a video tutorial especially for you so you can follow my creative process. Enjoy!
