Vintage Camera

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been such a while since I last posted! I think the posts will come in dribs and drabs though until after my exams. I had my exam timetable the other day, and my very last one is on the 21st June, so if you hear cheering and screaming on that day coming from the North-West, you'll know why, hee hee! :)

Anyway, I managed to squeeze in some crafting now that it's the school holidays, aside from lots of chilling out in my pyjamas and watching TV, tee hee! I'm going out for lunch with my grandparents tomorrow though and hopefully getting some contact lenses at the opticians on Tuesday, so I won't be lazy all week...just most of it. ;)

I made this card with my new Dovecraft papers, and I thought I'd add a really pretty vintage photo of a camera that I found on the internet.

Image: Sugar Nellie

Singing In The Rain...

Hiya! I hope everyone has had a lovely week and is looking forward to the weekend! It's been lovely this week, as I only went back to school on Thursday, so the weekend has come round really quickly, yay!

I made this card with a cute image I found in my craft drawers, as I thought it was pretty appropriate because of the wet and windy weather most of Britain seems to have been having over the past couple of days. It's stopped now mostly, but I've got to admit, it's so cosy sitting inside when it's cold and wet outside! :)
I used some lovely new Dovecraft papers my parents bought for me for Christmas, which I love and will be really nice to use in the spring and summer. I also love these big, chunky brads my mum bought for me when she went to the NEC - they're so cute!

Materials:

Image: Kerry-Jo

Sentiment: Studio G

Papers: Dovecraft

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Cardstock: Bazzil

Glitter: Stickles - Star Dust

Distress Ink: Tom Holtz - Worn Lipstick

Faux Stitching Stamp: Paper Mania

Pink Pearls: Martha Stewart

Glossy Accents: Ranger

Ribbon, Flowers, Brads, Gems, White Pearls, Chandelier Branch & Pins: Assorted - From My Stash

I used some Glossy Accents on the puddle on the image, which you can't see that well because the lighting isn't very good by the time I get home from school in the winter, and it's still pretty dark when I leave in the morning! I really love this time of year though - it's so cosy and lovely!

I am entering this card into these challenges:

- Charisma Cardz - Over The Rainbow

- Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

It feels like I haven't made a card in ages, so I really enjoyed making this!

Anyway, I'd better go now and do some work on my art sketchbook.

Thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend!

Top 10 Cards of 2011

Hiya everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and had lots of really nice presents! I had a brilliant Christmas this year, and got some great stuff, and I'm really enjoying and making the most of the Christmas holidays before I have to go back to school. It feels like such a long time since I uploaded a card, but I've not had much mojo recently and I've been quite preoccupied with all the assessments at school, but I thought I'd do a post to show you my ten favourite cards from 2011, seeing as tomorrow is New Year's Eve!

They're not in any particular order, apart from the top one, which I think is probably my favourite from this year. This was the first time I used kraft on a card, and I think I'll definitely have to get some more, as I really liked using it!

Here is my blue and green Tilda card that I made in late summer.

I'm so glad I started using polychromatic pencils, rather than Pro Markers. I do really like Pro Markers, but I don't think I was very good at using them, and the pencils suit me so much more. I love this cute image - it's so summery!

I used my mum's gorgeous Tim Holtz stamps on this card, which I forgot how much I love! I definitely need to have another go with those in the New Year! :)

I remember making this card, as it was the last one I uploaded from my old rented house. I miss being able to use my mum's craft room there, but never mind. I've got a lovely new desk in my room now anyway, so that's just as good. :)

This was for my mum for Mother's Day, I think. It's a shame I only have one of these images - they're so sweet!

This card was also for my mum, but it was for my dad to give to her for her birthday. I still can't believe this paper pad was free with a magazine!

This one was for my grandad who had a heart operation, but he is doing a lot better and recovering well now thankfully.

This was made with my lovely Basic Grey Max & Whiskers papers, which I won in Liz's blog candy! They're so cute!

Finally, here is another Tilda card, but using one of the older Magnolia images and complete with more freebie papers - yay! :D

Well, that's it! Thanks for looking at my list and I can't wait to come and have a look at other people's top card lists as well!

I noticed that I haven't posted very much this year at all, but hopefully I will have more time in 2012 and I can get crafty more often! I think the first half of the year will be busy, but after my exams in June, I will have an extended summer break before Sixth Form starts. I am so looking forward to my GCSEs being over and starting Sixth Form - I just know I'm going to love it! I applied for the Sixth Form at my school in November, and I opted for English Language, English Literature, Politics and Fine Art. I've really dropped on with those subjects, because both Politics and English Language run trips to London, and I've never been to London before, so that'll be great!

Anyway, enough of me waffling on! Thanks so much for looking by and have fun on New Year's Eve, whatever you're doing!

Happy New Year!

Lots of love, Georgia xxxx

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone! This is just a quick post to say Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you have a lovely Christmas weekend! These pictures are two that I took a week or two ago when we had snow here in the North West of England and edited on Picnik. I love it when the snow has only just fallen and no one has walked or driven in it yet and it's like a big white carpet - it looks so pretty!

I'm really excited about Christmas this year, as I didn't ask for anything much on my Christmas list, so pretty much everything I get will be a surprise! I also love giving out my presents to other people as well - Christmas shopping is definitely one of my favourite parts of this season, hee hee! :)

Anyway, I'll go now and carry on watching Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. That's another thing I love about Christmas - all the films on TV during the school holidays! You can tell I'm a bit of TV addict - I'm also looking forward to the Christmas soaps this year, ha ha! :)

I hopefully be back in the next few days to show you my Top Ten Cards list for 2011, before the New Year. Have a brilliant Christmas!

Lots of love from, Georgia xxxx

Altered Gift Tin

Hi everyone - long time, no see! It's been so busy recently with school and things going on in the run-up to Christmas, so I've pretty much just been chilling out at any opportunity I get because I'm so tired! We had Parents' Evening last night, and my English teacher said we would be having a mock exam every week up until study leave starts in May! I suppose it will help us get better marks if we know the exam papers really well, so it'll definitely be worth it in the end.

I can't believe how Christmassy it's starting to feel now! Our Christmas decorations and outdoor lights are up now and I started my advent calendar yesterday with it being the first of December (you're never too old!).

I decided to decorate this hot chocolate tin, so I could maybe use it to put something inside as a Christmas present, like chocolates or bath fizzers. It was a very quick and simple, but I just thought it'd be a nice way of giving someone a gift. Sorry the photos aren't that great. It was starting to get dark by the time I got home from school, (already!) so I had to put the flash on.

Materials:
Tin: Cadbury's Hot Chocolate Tin
Papers: The Paper Company
Ribbon, Buttons, Flowers and Brad: From My Stash
Cardstock: Bazzil
Glitter: Craft Planet

Also, the inside smells like chocolate, which is a nice added touch, hee hee! :)

I've got to look forward to over the next couple of months - I love this time of year! Next week, I will be going to the Clothes Show with school, so I will hopefully take some good pictures and post them on here. Obviously I am really excited about Christmas, and I'm going on the train to Chester tomorrow with some friends to do my Christmas shopping! Also, me and some other friends are planning on going to Alton Towers in the New Year, when we have some Christmas money to spend, and I might be going to see Coldplay for my birthday hopefully, if my mum manages to get tickets. I'd be so over the moon if she did! :D

I'm entering this gift tin into Simon Says Stamp Challenge, where the theme is 'Anything Goes.'

Anyway, that's all for now. I should be back next week with photos from the Clothes Show and hopefully another card some time soon. I've just had two weeks of consecutive English mock exams, which finished today, but at least it was poetry, which I really love. The work load is only going to increase though unfortunately, so I'll try and get crafty again as soon as I can! Luckily, I've only got one piece of work to do this weekend, which is nice.

Thanks so much for looking and have a lovely weekend! Enjoy all your Christmas shopping and building up to the big day! I know I will!

Lots of love, Georgia xx

Get Well Soon

Update: I'd just like to say thank you so much for all your get well wishes for my grandad. Luckily, he's out of intensive care now, and his operation went well with no complications! :)

Hello! I hope you're having a lovely week! It seems to be going really slowly this week. I don't know why, but I think it's because I got in late from school trip last night and I really wanted a lie-in this morning, so I thought it was the weekend, ha ha! I went to see 'An Inspector Calls' at the theatre with school as part of my English GCSE, and I loved it! I thought the acting and the set were brilliant and really enjoyed the play, so I'd definitely recommend it if you get the chance to see it, especially if you've read the book.

Anyway, I made this card a few days ago for my grandad, who is having an operation on his heart. He was supposed to be having it today, but it was cancelled at the last minute, so he will be having it over the next couple of days, so I really hope it goes OK.

Materials:

Image: High Hopes

Sentiment: Printed Off The Computer

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Papers: Basic Grey - Max & Whiskers

Glitter: Stickles - Picket Fence (Bandage) & Lime Green (Leaf)

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Leaf Punch: Woodware

Ribbon: From Chris

Pearls, Gems & Buttons: From My Stash

Cardstock: Bazzil

Glossy Accents: Ranger

I had a go at using Glossy Accents on the bug in the image of my card, but it was slightly disastrous, ha ha! It was all stuck in the end of the bottle, so it all popped out when I squeezed it and went everywhere! I managed to wipe it off and it looked OK when it was dry, but I think I'll be a bit more careful with it next time! :D

I'm entering this card into these challenges:

- Basic Grey Challenges - Anything Goes

- High Hopes - Anything Goes

- Our Creative Corner - Masculine Card/Project

It's starting to feel very autumnal now, and even wintery at times! It makes me feel all snug and cosy, hee hee! The other morning, when I woke up, I thought it had snowed because the window was steamed up and all I could see was white frost outside! :)

Thank you for looking and enjoy the rest of your week!

Love, Georgia xx

Vintage Crackle Glaze Card

Hi everyone - I hope you're having a lovely weekend! It feels like ages since I've posted on my blog! It's been a little bit neglected, but I've been quite busy with lots of assessments I've had to do for school, with it being my last year now, and the work is really going to start piling on with it being such an important year, but I'm trying to squeeze in a bit of cardmaking when I can. To be honest, because I hadn't made a card for so long, I wasn't really in the mood, but I really enjoyed making this!

This month, it's the second blogoversary of the Crafty Calendar Challenge, which I set up and ran for about a year, more or less, I think. I stepped down from running the challenge a while ago because of how much time it took up, but I really loved running it, and thankfully, both Lisa and Lynne have continued to run the challenge, so I'm really grateful and happy that the challenge was able to continue!

Anyway, Lynne added a really nice message about me starting the challenge in this month's post, so I felt compelled to enter, seeing as it's two years since it started! The theme this month is 'Spooky', so I used this cute Halloween image that my mum gave me. I'm not sure who it's by, so if anyone has any idea and would let me know for next time, that'd be great! Thanks! :)

Materials:
Image: Unknown - Given To Me By My Mum
Sentiment: Studio G
Papers: Basic Grey - Max & Whiskers
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy
Flowers, Brads, Gems, Pins, Leaf & Buttons: From My Stash
Glitter: Stickles - Star Dust
Raffia Lace: Bunny-Zoe's Crafts
Spider: Cuttlebug
Swirl Stamps: From My Mum's Stash
Crackle Glaze: Ranger
Film Reel: Tim Holtz

I had a go at using some Crackle Glaze on my image, which I've never tried before. It smudged the ink of the image a little bit, but I suppose it doesn't really make much difference, and I'm pleased with the effect, so I'll definitely be using it again! :)

I'm entering this card into these challenges:
- Crafty Calendar Challenge - Spooky
- Charisma Cardz - Anything Goes
- Kaboodle Doodles - Halloween/Fall
- Oldie But A Goodie - Forever Autumn
- Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Spooky or Whimsical
- Stampin' For The Weekend - Spooky
- ABC Challenge - B is For Boo

I can't believe how quickly half term is going! I've had a really nice week and it's been pretty busy too! I went out for a meal with my brother and grandparents on Monday, went to my friend's house for lunch on Tuesday, had a sleepover with two friends on Wednesday, went to Cadbury World in Birmingham yesterday (Friday) and I'm going out for a curry with two friends tonight, phew! I usually spend most of my time chilling out over the holidays, but lots of things have popped up to do this week, which has been great fun!

Anyway, I'd better go now, as I want to do a big blog-hop, seeing as I haven't been blogging for so long, and catch up on what everyone's been making! Thanks so much for looking and have a great weekend Oh, and enjoy X Factor tonight - I know I will, hee hee! :)

Love, Georgia xx

Flower Power & The A-Z of Me

Hiya, hope you're having a great week! It's getting pretty autumnal out there now - lots of the leaves are starting to change colour now, and it's been so windy over the past few weeks!
I suppose this card is me trying to hold onto the last dregs of summer, hee hee! Winter is definitely my favourite season of all though - I love Christmas and the snowy weather, it's so cosy! :)

I wanted to be quick with making this card tonight, as I've got a bit of revision to do for a history assessment tomorrow, so I used Pro Markers to colours my image, instead of polychromatic pencils.

Materials:
Image: Magnolia
Sentiment: My Mind's Eye
Papers: My Mind's Eye
Cardstock: Bazzil
Colouring: Pro Markers
Doily, Pins, Spacer, Flowers, Brads and Gems: From My Stash
Glitter: Stickles - Pink
Ribbon & Sparkly Fibres: From My Stash
Butterfly Punch: From My Stash

I wasn't sure how this card would turn out at first, because my Pro Marker colouring is a bit rusty, because I haven't used them for so long, but I'm quite happy with how it turned out! :)

Over on Laura's blog, I saw an A-Z list that seems to be going around different blogs at the moment, so I thought I'd do one too so you can learn a little bit more about me. Feel free to do one for yourself too if you like and keep passing it on! :)

F - Favourite Colour: I love pink - always have, always will!

M - Must Haves: Family and friends...oh and chocolate!

Taken from my favourite film, Stardust - I love it!

Vintage Bookmark

Hello! I hope you've had a lovely week and are looking forward to the weekend! I love that Friday feeling when you get home from school and can just chill out! Thank you for all your lovely comments about going back to school! I've had a really nice first two weeks back, and my little brother has really enjoyed his first couple of weeks of year seven and seems to be settling in well.

I made this bookmark for my mum, as she is in the middle of reading the Harry Potter books for the first time at the moment, so I thought I'd make her a vintage bookmark to use.

I've had this cute little Penny Black image for ages and have never used it before, but I think it's perfect for gift boxes and bookmarks because of its size.

Materials:

Image: Penny Black

Papers: Prima - Annalee

Cardstock: Crafters Companion

Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Brushed Corduroy

Fibres, Flowers, Spacers & Gems: From My Stash

Ruffled Ribbon: From Chris

Vintage Stamps: Tim Holtz

Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils

Paint: Tim Holtz Acrylic Dabber

Brads: PaperMania

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

- Allsorts Challenge - Flowers & Swirls

- Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes

- Cupcake Craft Challenges - Back To School

- Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

I'm just off to make a card for a great challenge I've just spotted - will be back soon hopefully with a card, and then you'll see which challenge I mean!

I know it's only September, but I feel all cosy, because it's just started raining outside and we're having a roast dinner for tea, yum - my favourite tea! :)

Anyway, thanks for looking and have a great weekend, whatever you're doing!

Bye for now, love, Georgia xx

Back To School... But One Last Card!

Hi everyone! I'm really sad that it's the last day of the summer holidays today. I'm kind of looking forward to going back and getting back into a routine and seeing friends again, but I've really enjoyed just relaxing and having lots of lie-ins over the past few weeks, so I don't really want it to end!
I'm looking forward to having a last chill-out session later though, as me and my parents and brother are going to have a big game of Buzz on the Playstation, which is a competitive game with lots of mini-games, which we all enjoy playing.

Anyway, here is my last card before I go back to school, which I made last night. I tried stamping my image onto kraft for a change, and I'm really pleased with the result. I thought it might be difficult to colour on kraft, but it was surprisingly quite easy, so I'll definitely be using it again! I used this cute Fairy Doodles image, from a set my mum bought me from the NEC ages ago.

Materials:
Image: Fairy Doodles
Sentiment: Tim Holtz
Papers: Prima - Annalee
Cardstock: Bazzil
Colouring: Polychromatic Pencils
Glitter: Stickles (Pink, Lime Green & Waterfall)
Flowers: From My Stash
Brad: PaperMania
Charm: From My Stash
Dew Drops: From My Stash
Pearls: From Mine & My Mum's Stash
Ribbon: From Chris
Jute Ribbon: Bunny-Zoe's Crafts
Butterfly: From My Stash
Wooden Heart: From My Stash
Swirl Stamps: Lizzie Ann Designs
Distress Ink: Tim Holtz - Tattered Rose

I'm entering my card into these challenges:
- Charisma Cardz - Anything Goes
- Truly Scrumptious - Rocked Up Pink

I'd better go now to have some lunch and then get on with getting my stuff ready for school tomorrow. Thanks so much for looking and have a lovely week!
