Black Clover and Blue Exorcist are fantasy action series starring step-brothers. In Black Clover, Asta Sutaria and Yuno Kurosurii are orphans of completely different skills and personalities. One a hothead underachiever who relies on strength; another a cool-headed magician of great skill. Despite their differences, the two have a friendly rivalry shown throughout their adventure to become the next Wizard King.

Noragami is a remarkable series that takes a different look at the supernatural than Blue Exorcist, but retains all its charm. Yato is an unpopular Japanese God who dreams of having millions of followers. However, he doesn't have a shrine of his own. His terrible luck begins to change when he meets a middle school girl named Hiyori Iki, who becomes connected with the spirit world after saving his "life" from a car crash. The two work together to bring her back to normal; developing a strong bond along the way.

Blue Exorcist and Tokyo Ghoul scratch the same supernatural itch, but Tokyo Ghoul goes deeper with a darker story and gruesome violence. Tokyo Ghoul is about a man named Ken Kaneki who becomes a horrific monster known as a "Ghoul," after receiving a kidney transplant from one. He struggles to adapt to his new horrible life as a Ghoul, such as fighting the urge to eat human flesh.

Hataraku Maou-sama!, better known as The Devil is a Part-Timer!, is another show dealing with demons like Blue Exorcist. Both deal with demons living in modern life, however, The Devil is a Part-Timer! takes it a step further by portraying a former demon lord as a fast food worker. It's a hilarious show about an all-powerful being taking his part-time job too seriously.

Blue Exorcist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood are two anime series about family. Rin and Yukio Okumura are two exorcist brothers trying to save the world from Rin's demonic father. Edward and Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood are brothers who enlisted as State Alchemists, in order to find the Philosopher's Stone, so they can repair their damaged bodies caused on that dreadful night they tried to resurrect their deceased mother. Additionally, their long-lost father also plays an important role in the series.

Fairy Tail doesn't deal strictly with demons like Blue Exorcist, but it does play with lots of fantasy creatures and super-powered characters. The show is about a guild known as "Fairy Tail," who perform odd jobs across the mystical land of Fiore. There's definitely an RPG feeling to the show's setting, and characters like the fire-powered Natsu Dragneel are fun to watch in action. Certain storylines do get heavy as the show progresses, such as the one about an evil guild known as the Tartaros, but Fairy Tail always remains a fun watch.

Bleach is another action show Blue Exorcist fans should check out. It's about a Soul Reaper named Ichigo Kurosaki who fights evil spirits known as Hollows with his mentor, Rukia Kuchiki. Rukia bestows upon Ichigo her Soul Reaper powers, so he could save his sisters from a deadly Hollow attack. Bleach starts off simple enough with ghost-of-the day stories, but morphs into something grander when it kicks off the Soul Society plot that greatly expands its world. It's an action-packed series Blue Exorcist fans will love.

Just like Blue Exorcist, Soul Eater is a supernatural action series about a group of students learning to become Grim Reapers. The series follows Maka Albarn and her living weapon, Soul Eater Evans, as they reap souls from the deadliest creatures of Death City. Its twisted art style and large cast of characters make Soul Eater an easy recommendation for Blue Exorcist fans.

Allen Walker from D. Gray-Man is an exorcist like Rin Okumura from Blue Exorcist. He exorcizes the lost souls who are forced to power mechanical monsters known as "Akuma" by the evil Millenium Earl. Another similarity Allen has with Rin is that they're orphans who lost their surrogate fathers. In Allen's case, he was tricked into turning his deceased father into an Akuma by Millenium Earl, which awakens his demon powers.

If you're looking for a hilarious follow-up to Blue Exorcist, then turn your head towards Blood Lad. Blood Lad is about a vampire otaku named Staz Charlie Blood who befriends a human girl named Fuyumi Yanagi, who becomes a wandering ghost after accidentally stumbling into the demon world. Fans of Blue Exorcist will love this wacky take on the supernatural.

Like Blue Exorcist, Beelzebub deals with the son of Satan. However, this isn't a teenager, but a little baby demon. Troublemaker Tatsumi Oga becomes the caretaker of this baby devil, who is simply known as Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV. He raises the son of Satan with Hildegard, a demon maidservant. It's an absurd premise for an action show, but Beelzebub remains entertaining from beginning to end.

Shaman King feels like a cross between Blue Exorcist and Pokémon. The show is about a carefree shaman named Yoh Asakura, who's competing in a tournament with other shamans to become Shaman King. A title that basically turns you into God. He fights with an ancient samurai spirit possessing him, or his samurai sword. If you loved the spiritual fight scenes in Blue Exorcist, you'll love Shaman King.

Chrono Crusade is very similar to Blue Exorcist, as both series rely on a human/demon dynamic to drive their story. However, Chrono Crusade is a period anime about a gun-toting nun named Rosette Christopher and her demon partner named Chrono. At first, it seems like Chrono Crusade is this crazy, but funny, supernatural cop show. As it goes on, the show takes a surprisingly dark turn. No spoilers, but Chrono Crusade ends on an emotionally strong note that everyone should see.
