Joan Llaneras Rosselló (born May 17, 1969 in Porreres, Majorca) is a former Spanish World and Olympic points race champion track cyclist. He specialises in the madison and points race events. Llaneras began his cycling career on the road with the ONCE professional cycling team but switched to concentrate on track cycling. Llaneras is a four-time world champion in the points race and three time champion in the Madison. He is a double Olympic champion, winning the event at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and in Beijing in 2008. Llaneras teamed up with Isaac Gálvez to compete on the lucrative Six Days of Ghent racing circuit on November 2006. It resulted with the death of Gálvez after colliding with Dimitri De Fauw and hitting the railings. Llaneras had decided to quit cycling, but a few months later in an interview with Spanish daily newspaper Marca, he said: Clearly I thought about leaving it all. It was the first reaction. Logical... Natural... Normal after what had happened, but life goes on, and giving it all up, unfortunately, will not solve anything. In addition, the track is my life, is my dream, my family, it is almost everything to me. He returned to competition in 2007, and although he had no intention of returning to Madison racing, Llaneras teamed up with Antonio Tauler to take the silver medal in the Madison at the 2008 Summer Olympics, adding to the gold he won in the points race three days earlier. In doing so, he became the Spaniard with the most Olympic medals ever, with 2 gold and 2 silver to his name. After the Beijing Olympics, Llaneras retired.

Carlos Sastre Candil (pronounced [ˈkaɾ.los ˈsas.tɾe ˈkandil]; born 22 April 1975) is a former Spanish professional road bicycle racer and winner of the 2008 Tour de France. He consistently achieved great results in the Vuelta a España and equally good showings in the Tour de France. Sastre established himself as a strong and stable climbing specialist, and after working to improve his individual time trial skills, he became a contender for the top GC spots in the Grand Tours. In total, Sastre finished in the top ten overall of fifteen Grand Tours during his career. Also remarkable is that Sastre never tested positive or was caught in a doping investigation given he performed at the top level of cycling for many years. Sastre continues to be widely regarded, following the Lance Armstrong affair, as one of the very few 'clean' riders to have won the Tour de France in modern times as he has never been involved in a doping affair. In fact, with respect to doping allegations and admissions that have surrounded Tour winners in recent decades, Sastre has been called "Don Limpio" ("Mr. Clean" in Spanish) by the press and others.

He was one of the top sprinters in road bicycle racing, having won the world championship three times, equalling Alfredo Binda, Rik Van Steenbergen, Eddy Merckx and Peter Sagan. In the later years of his career, he became more of a classics rider. He has won the cycling monument Milan–San Remo three times, four stages in the Tour de France and seven stages of the Vuelta a España, throughout a successful career. Despite his diminutive stature, Freire was a good sprinter. He had a training philosophy where he rode shorter distances than most pro cyclists, sometimes covering only about half the distance his colleagues would.

Deferr started in gymnastics at the age of five. He considered floor exercise as his favorite event and has had some success in major competitions. He finished in second place with the silver medal on floor at the 1999 World Championships of Gymnastics with a score of 9.750 points, which he repeated eight years later with another silver medal at the 2007 World Championships as well as many medals in the same apparatus in the World Cup of Gymnastics, between them: World Cup 2000 in Ljubljana, Slovenia — 9.688 points (silver), or World Cup 2001 in Paris, France — 9.625 points (gold). He also finished second at the 2002 World Championships on floor exercise but the medal was taken away after he tested positive for marijuana. A curious aspect of Deferr's personality is his stating that he considers sleeping a hobby. He also has an iguana as a pet and likes Japanese and Korean cultures. He has appeared on the Japanese game show Sasuke (Ninja Warrior in the United States), failing to complete the first stage. He was unable to make it over the 15 foot wall. In January 2011, he announced his retirement.
