- One of reality TV's most influential women, the smart and acid-tongued Judge Judith Sheindlin kicked off a television programming revolution in the mid-1990's, thanks to the success of her self-titled courtroom reality show, "Judge Judy" (syndicated, 1996- ). The first courtroom show to air on American television since "The People's Court" (syndicated, 1981-1993), "Judge Judy" was credited with resurrecting the genre and opening the doors for countless imitators. In addition to spawning such copycats as "Judge Joe Brown" (syndicated, 1997- ) "Divorce Court" (syndicated, 1999- ), "Judge Hatchett" (syndicated, 2000- ) and the home-spun "Texas Justice" (syndicated, 2001-05), "Judge Judy" also paved the way for the return of the newly reincarnated "The People's Court" in 1997 and proved that Judge Judith Sheindlin was not only a tough cookie, but a trailblazer for television justice.
- Popular entertainment's jack-of-all-trades for more than 50 years, Steve Allen amassed a truly amazing body of work as an incredibly prolific talk show host, comedian, composer, actor, recording artist, playwright, lecturer and author. Emerging from the world of radio in the late-1940s, Allen moved to television where he hosted "Tonight Starring Steve Allen" (NBC, 1953-57), the late night talk show that laid the groundwork for Carson, Letterman and Leno. Also a talented musician, he composed over 8,000 songs in his lifetime, including the popular jazz standard "The Gravy Waltz" and his biggest hit, "This Could Be the Start of Something Big." For a time, he competed successfully opposite Ed Sullivan, even scooping the TV giant with Elvis Presley's first appearance on network television for an infamous performance on "The Steve Allen Show" (NBC, 1956-1960). In addition to his many stints as a talk/variety show host, he appeared as the emcee on the popular game show "I've Got a Secret" (CBS, 1964-1973), as well as the educational program "Meeting of Minds" (PBS, 1977-1981). - Though most television viewers knew Lisa Ling from her 1999-2002 stint as co-host of "The View" (ABC, 1997- ), she first distinguished herself as an investigative reporter at age 15. - César Felipe Millán Favela (; Spanish: [ˈsesaɾ miˈʝan]; born August 27, 1969) is a Mexican-American dog trainer with over 25 years of canine experience. He is widely known for his Emmy-nominated television series Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, which was produced from 2004 to 2012 and is broadcast in more than 80 countries worldwide.Millan is a New York Times best-selling author and has his own line of dog products and instructional DVDs. Prior to The Dog Whisperer series, Millan focused on rehabilitating severely aggressive dogs and founded a rehab complex, the Dog Psychology Center, in South Los Angeles (2002–2008). In 2009, the Dog Psychology Center moved to Santa Clarita, California. Millan also opened an East Coast clinic at the Country Inn Pet Resort in Davie, Florida, near Fort Lauderdale.Millan's first three books, including Cesar's Way, all became New York Times best sellers, have cumulatively sold two million copies in the United States, and are available in 14 other countries.In 2009, in conjunction with IMG, Millan introduced a monthly magazine also titled Cesar's Way, with The Wall Street Journal reporting at that time that half of American consumers recognized Millan.
