Vintage Soft Head Captain Hook

1982 World's Fair Astronaut B
Sold For: over $32,000
Never released to the public
There are rare PEZ dispensers and then there's this. The holy grail of PEZ dispensers everywhere, the 1982 World’s Fair Astronaut B was a prototype originally created for (you guessed it) the 1982 World's Fair in Knoxville, TN. For whatever reason, the prototype was never put into production, so only two are known to actually exist. Apparently a couple of Pez employees got their hands on them and one went up for auction on eBay in 2006, where it sold for $32,205.00. The sale skyrocketed the rare prototype to the title of the most valuable Pez dispenser currently in existence.

1940s Early Design Dispenser
Sold For: $2,750.00
Released: 1940s
Though PEZ dispensers weren't available in the USA until after World War II, they were invented by an Austrian inventor named Eduard Haas III in 1927. It wasn't until 1948, however, that Haas released the first actual dispenser. As you can see, it looks a lot like a cigarette lighter, which is no accident. Haas initially intended PEZ candies and their companion dispensers to be an aid for people who were trying to stop smoking.

Witch "B"
Sold For: $2,000.00
Release Year: 1957
Okay, so her face may not be centerfold material, but make no mistake - this 1950s Halloween witch is worth a pretty penny. In 1957, the Halloween Witch became the first character head PEZ ever to be released. There were two versions of the witches which were dubbed "A" and "B" version, and the B version here was a bit harder to find. So if you had a family member who was willing to overlook outward appearances back in the 1950s, one of these mint condition witches can definitely go a long way in repaying the kindness today.
DHS Space Gun
Sold For: $710.00
Release Year: 1980s
Back in the 80s, Star Wars had created a global obsession with galaxies far, far away. So much like other toy companies, PEZ cashed in on the craze by producing these cool little space guns, which were made in both Japan and Austria. The tale doesn't end there, however, as PEZ later sold the mold to a Chinese company that produced the "DSH Space Gun," which shoots little PEZ shaped pieces of plastic rather than candy. Ironically, the DSH Space Gun is among the rarest of them all today and can easily sell for hundreds of dollars in mint condition.
