Heartfelt treats and a sneak peek! - #GDP134

Last weekend I attended Stampin' Up!'s© local conference, On Stage, in Red Deer, Alberta. I love that Stampin' Up! brings the fun of conventions to our local areas. It makes for an affordable little weekend away to see my Stampin' demonstrator friends, stamp together, experience the exciting announcements from Stampin' Up! and see all of the new products first hand!

This event marked the 30th Anniversary of Stampin' Up!. Friday night was an 80's theme party night for top achieving demonstrators. We enjoyed a delicious dinner together and were the first to receive the new 2018-2019 catalogue! We had an intimate session discussing the changes coming up (there are some exciting ones) and got to take some of the new products home!

Dale is our Canadian Stampin' Up! Manager (featured here).

Saturday was an early start and a full day of Stampin'! I had 7 of my Dolce Stampers demonstrator team attend! This treat box is what I created for each of them ...

These bright bold colors were inspired by the 80's theme of the weekend. I am so happy to say that these Acetate Card Boxes are carrying over to the new catalgoue. Did you know that you can emboss them with an embossing folder and the Big Shot? Look closely here and you can see that I used the Polka Dot Basics Folder (this will carry over too!).

The hearts were cut with the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock and Berry Burst Cardstock ... again, all carry over items.

The ribbon and designer series paper will retire come May 31st, 2018. In general, all designer series papers retire each catalogue transition. Designer series paper offer new color combinations, new trends and they coordinate with new stamp sets ... all making them an exciting change each product launch.

Just a portion of the Dolce Stampers Demonstrator team!

These treat containers are inspired by the
Global Design Project challenge this week - #GDP134

Here are a few more highlights from the event!

Each Stampin' Up!event has "the bag".
Inside the bag was a new stamp set and a marque light board.
We NEED these bags for all of the projects that we make and, of course,
for all of the free product giveaways!
The tables are always beautiful!
Stampin' Up! does not miss a detail ... the grid paper, the stickers on the butterflies!
The bin in the center of the table is packed with new products that got to play with!
At the end of the event, we divvy up the products and everyone gets to take them home!
Afternoon snack - 30th anniversary cupcakes!
Last week I posted a few announcements from the On Stage event. Check out these blog posts:

Colorful Krista - Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Welcome to the March Fancy Friday Blog Hop!!

Last week I was feeling like I was in a color rut. Looking at my recent projects and blog posts, I realized that I had a lot of blue and pink happening. My style tends to be softer colors and I was feeling the need for a challenge. I posted to Facebook for suggestions from my followers. I received so many amazing color combo suggestions. Thank-you!

The number one suggestion was Night of Navy ... it is a hot color right now! Brenda Nelson posted that I should try Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point. In general, everyone wants to see me try out some bright colors! Here is what I came up with ....

Okay ... I did not come up with this color combo. Our Fancy Friday Challenge this month is to use Designer Series Paper (DSP) and I picked these colors right from the paper itself.

Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper
145606

The DSP that I chose is the Tutti-Frutti 6x6 stack. The 6" x 6" paper size is perfect for the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. They literally fit the exact size of the 6x6 paper. I added a circle thinlit to the center of the front of the treat bag for my candy window.

A happy accident - did you notice how the shark is facing forward in the treat bag and looks like he is peeking out of the treat container! swoon! But maybe I am the only one that would notice something cheesy like that!?

Are you ready to see more?! Click over to my dear friend Marisa Gunn
to see what she has created using DSP ...

Thank-you for visiting us! Have a creative day!!

Mixed Metallics - Fancy Friday Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to the December Fancy Friday Blog Hop! This blog hop is made up of award winning Stampin' Up!© Artisan Design Team members - past and present. We hope you are ready to be dazzled! This month our hope theme is "Mixed Metallics".

My monthly, in studio, stamp clubs get treated to a Christmas party each december. I used the Year of Cheer suite featured on page 36 and 37 of the Holiday Catalogue from Stampin' Up! to decorate my table and make little party favors for my guests.

A trip to Dollarama made my holiday table come together at a great price. I purchased the metal pedestal plages for just 4$ each! Adding Designer Series Paper to the top made them match my decor perfectly. All I did was trace the platter to the backside of the Designer Paper and cut out with scissors. I made sure that I was cutting "inside" the traced circle so that it was small enough to slip in the platter top. The best part is that I can just replace these papers if I use them again for another party with a different theme!

The metallic garland all came from Dollarama. They were available in Silver, Gold and Champaign Champaign is this year's "it" Christmas color  ... did you know that there is new 12x12 Champaign Foil Sheets in the Holiday Catalogue? We should not be surprised .. Stampin' Up! is always on trend!

Although this garland looks beautiful with the Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper, I am afraid that I will never be able to fully clean all of the glitter dust from our home! What a mess!

If you follow the Stampin' Dolce blog and social media (find links to follow me in the sidebar >>), you will know that I am #obsessed with reindeer this Christmas! I found these plastic clear reindeer at Dollarama! Aren't they perfect!   I think I paid under 2$ each!.

Have you ever thought of using 12x12 Designer Series Paper as a placemat? I love how it tied the table all together. Some of my customers were a little nervous to slop on the paper but overall we did great. I think I was the only one who made a mess! I will upcycle the paper for projects and the one that I dripped on can be used, once I trim the stained piece off of it.

I filled my treat containers will yogurt covered, snowflake, pretzels! They look so festive through the Acetate Card Boxes. Originally I had set out to use shredded paper bag fill in the box with the pretzels, but then I had the idea to use coconut. It kinda looks like snow and is super adorable (and edible!)

You can emboss these Acetate Card Boxes with the Big Shot and a Textured Impression Embossing Folder! Just sandwich one face of the box into the embossing folder and drive through the big shot as you normally would with an embossing folder.

Thank-you for following us in 2017! We look forward to creating for you in 2018!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, our Fancy Friends!
