Now technically the colours of our flag are red, white and blue but generally the Australian colours are green and gold. So today I bring you green and gold books!

Black Hills by Nora Roberts and Daughters of the Witching Hill by Mary Sharratt

Shelter Mountain by Robyn Carr and And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini

I am sure that there is a joke in there somewhere that I have missed about Mount TBR!!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books set in Tasmania

Welcome to this week's edition of Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week the topic is Books With Your Favorite Trope/Theme (Submitted by Raincheckandread.com and Sara Beth @ Life, Love, Writing). I was contemplating doing something around books with dual timelines, but in the end I have decided to go off theme this week. Instead, I am trying to make my holiday vibes stretch out as much as I can. A couple of weeks ago now we travelled all around Tasmania so my theme this week is books set in Tasmania!

The Last of the Apple Blossoms by Mary-Lou Stephens - I read this book last year and really liked it. This book is set in the Huon Valley and inspired us to visit during our trip. We had the best toasted sandwich in a cidery there!

The Exiles by Christina Baker-Kline - This book is something of an anomaly as it is the only one which wasn't written by an Australian author. (my review)

The Roving Party by Rohan Wilson - I saw Rohan Wilson on a panel at Melbourne Writers Festival more than 10 years ago. I have a signed copy of the book, but I still haven't read it.

A Trifle Dead by Livia Day - This is a foodie murder mystery set in Hobart. The review I did of this a few years ago is probably one of my favourite ever posts on the blog.

Wildflower Hill by Kimberly Freeman - I really enjoyed Kimberly Freeman's historical/dual timeline novels. I have mentioned her in a couple of posts recently which has inspired me to try and find the last books of hers that I haven't read yet.

The Living Sea of Waking Dreams by Richard Flanagan - In theory I am currently listening to this. In practice I keep on getting distracted by other audiobooks. I will get back to it.

The Potato Factory by Bryce Courtenay - We spent went to a few places which highlight the convict history of Tasmania. This book does the same.

Past the Shallows by Favel Parret - This is another book I have had on my TBR shelf for years!

Mawson and the Ice Men of the Heroic Age: Scott, Shackleton and Amundsent by Peter Fitzsimmons - This is a non fiction book. I don't read a lot of non fiction, but I do want to read something about Mawson as one we really enjoyed visiting the replica of Mawson's Hut. There is lots of Mawson/Antarctic related information in Hobart as it is often the starting point for boats travelling there.

The Survivors by Jane Harper - This is the only Harper book I haven't yet read. Better get on to that as I have heard there is a new book coming out soon.

I shared some photos of our trip here and here.

Six Degrees of Separation: The End of the Affair to Bitter Greens

Welcome to this month's edition of Six Degrees of Separation, which is a monthly meme hosted by Kate from Books Are My Favourite and Best.  The idea is to start with a specific book and make a series of links from one book to the next using whatever link you can find and see where you end up after six links.  I am also linking this post up with The Sunday Salon, hosted by Deb at Readerbuzz.

The starting point this month is The End of the Affair by Graham Greene. I vaguely remember reading Graham Green in high school but I am pretty sure it was The Power and the Glory.

This month I have taken a very simple approach and I am focussing on the word green, whether it be spelt with or without an E.

My first choice is Summer of my German Soldier by Betty Greene which is another book I read in high school. I reread it back in 2006 (review here)

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - By losing the E off the name Green I have read a number of books by YA author John Green but not for  a long time now.

The Green Mill Murder by Kerry Greenwood - I started reading Australian author Kerry Greenwood back in 2006, but I have chosen this book because of the green both in her name and in the title. This is the fifth book in the Phryne Fisher series.

Anne of Green Gables by L M Montgomery -  I feel as thought I can't choose books with Green in the title without mentioning this book.

Evergreen Falls by Kimberly Freeman - What's more green than just green. Why, evergreen of course.

Bitter Greens by Kate Forsyth - My final choice is one of my favourite books by Aussie author Kate Forsyth.

Next month, the starting point is Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Enjoyed But Have Never Mentioned on the Blog

Welcome to this week's edition of Top Ten Tuesday which is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week the topic is Books I Enjoyed But Have Never Mentioned. In theory this is a topic that I should be able to do quite easily especially as I had a couple of years where I didn't post much about books, but it has taken a while to compile because of the word "never". I ended up going back as far as 2014 to find books I couldn't find mentioned at all. Here's what I came up with.

City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin - The third book in the The Twelve trilogy

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne - I had forgotten that I had read this. As recently as a few weeks ago I was asked if I had read it and I was like...no, not yet. Wrong!!

Her Royal Spyness by Rhys Bowen - This the first book in the series of the same name. I liked this but I never read any further.

Templar Silks by Elizabeth Chadwick - I really need to read some more Chadwick and soon!

A Kiss in Lavender by Laura Florand - Laura Florand is one of the authors that I still read during my massive reading slump.

Quarterback Rush by Jaci Burton - I read 9 books in the Play by Play series but not sure I mentioned many of them.

My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante - I am not sure why I never read any more of this series after this book.

Bring up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel - This is the second book in the Cromwell series. I was very excited about the third book when it came out last year in 2020 but still haven't actually read it.

First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen - I've mentioned lots of other SAA books on the blog but not this one. This was her last book and was published 6 years. That means 6 years of anticipation for her next book which is out later this year.

Evergreen Falls by Kimberly Freeman - I really enjoy Kimberly Freeman's books. I still have a couple to read.

If we do this topic again I might have to go back into the 2000s to find another 10
