So I asked Jennifer for a deleted scene from the book and she was happy to oblige! Ooh and keep reading there's an awesome giveaway at the end!

Haven't heard of FIRE IN THE WOODS? Check it out!

Title: FIRE IN THE WOODS
Author: Jennifer M. Eaton
Pub. Date: September 23, 2014
Publisher: Month9Books
Pages: 331
Formats: Paperback (release date October 28th), eBook (release date September 23rd)

When a plane crashes in the woods near Jess’s home, the boy of her dreams falls out of the sky—literally. But David’s not here to find a girlfriend. He’s from another planet, and if Jess can’t help him get back to his ship, he’ll be stuck on Earth with nothing to look forward to but the pointy end of a dissection scalpel.

But her father runs their house like an army barracks, and with an alien on the loose, Major Dad isn’t too keen on the idea of Jess going anywhere. Ever. So how the heck is she supposed to help the sweetest, strangest, and cutest guy she’s ever met?

Hiding him in her room probably isn’t the best idea. Especially since her Dad is in charge of the squadron searching for David. That doesn’t mean she won’t do it. It just means she can’t get caught.

Helping David get home while protecting her heart—that’s gonna be the hard part. After all, she can’t really fall for a guy who’s not exactly from here.

As they race through the woods with Major Dad and most of the U.S. military one breath behind them, Jess and David grow closer than either of them anticipated. But all is not what it seems. David has a genocide-sized secret, and one betrayal later, they are both in handcuffs as alien warships are positioning themselves around the globe. Time is ticking down to Armageddon, and Jess must think fast if she’s to save the boy she cares about without sacrificing Earth—and everyone on it.

Now on to the scene!

FIRE IN THE WOODS is written in first person from Jess’s point of view, so it doesn’t surprise me that people would be interested in what David was thinking at different points in the story.

Here is one scene that came to mind: The scene where Jess kisses David. Just what would you think if someone kissed you, if you had no idea what a kiss was?

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
“We could have died yesterday. You know that, don’t you?” Her shaking hands and the desperation in her voice cut a hole through my heart.

“But we didn’t. We’re okay.”

Tears pooled in her lashes. “Are we?”

I pushed down a shiver, the last of the morning chill. “Now that it’s getting warmer, yes, we are.” The sincerity in my words didn’t make it any more true. Not to me, anyway. She was right. We could have died last night. This was all my fault, and she shouldn’t have been involved.

Her gaze drifted to the endless woods around us. “This is so not how I expected to spend my last week of summer vacation.”

I lowered my eyes, her words cutting me in ways I never would have expected. “You wanted to be with him, didn’t you?”

“Him? Who him?”

“Jared Linden, the boy you were thinking about when we first met.” I touched my cheek. “The boy with this face.”

A giggle burst from her lips. “I don’t know him. He’s an actor. I’ve never even met him. I just think he’s cute.”

“Cute?”

“Yeah, like, attractive, you know?”

A smile burst free, despite my trying to conceal it. “So, you find me attractive?”

“Maybe—when you’re not ripping off your fingers or freezing to death.”

She shifted her weight. It was more than that. I wasn’t good enough for her. No matter what she’d done to bring us here, she didn’t really care about me. Maybe she wasn’t even capable of it. But it felt like she did, and it was killing me inside.

I glanced up, and her eyes seemed to look through me, sorting out my inadequacies and lining them up, just like every other girl I’d known. But she stepped closer, placing her fingers on my chest. Closeness, contact—things I wasn’t used to, at least with a girl.
Her eyes bore through me, deeper, searching. What was she looking for? She licked her lips, leaving a glisten behind that reminded me of the sparkle of the moons outside the purple planet in the system we passed through with three suns. Beautiful.

I tensed as she leaned toward me. Confusing, humans. They value closeness, touch, when there is no chance she could… Her mouth covered mine, and my breath hitched. A strange sensation, the touch of another’s lips. Was this… normal?

She moved away, a touch of uncertainty tainting her eyes.

“Why’d you do that?” I asked.

She backed against a tree, holding her stomach. “I’m sorry, I thought you wanted me to.”

“Why would I want that?”

She burst into tears. “I thought you liked me.”

“I do. What’s wrong?”

Tears flowed from her eyes. She covered her face with her hands.

“Jess. I’m sorry. Geeze, I don’t even know what I did.”

“I kissed you, and you, you …” She began sobbing again.

“I don’t even know what a kiss is.” I clawed at my temples. “Jess, please, I have no idea what just happened.”

She gulped down a sob. “Didn’t you feel anything? Anything at all?”

Every emotion inside me evaporated. What had I done? This wonderful, sweet girl had done nothing but help me. How had I made her so unhappy?  “Jess, please. I don’t understand. It was nice, I guess—the kiss thing. But it took me by surprise. I didn’t know what to say. I do like you.”

She uncovered her face and wiped her cheek on her sleeve. “You do?”

“Of course. Here …” I leaned down and plastered my lips against hers. I didn’t
understand, but if this is what she wanted, I’d do it. I owed her that much, no matter how odd it seemed.

She laughed, but for some reason, I didn’t think that was a good thing.

“I’m sorry.” I sat back on the ground, my shoulders slumped. “I’ve never done that before. I really didn’t mean to hurt your feelings.” What an idiot I was. I snatched a rock and chucked it at a tree. Hit it dead on. “I am screwing everything up!”

Her eyes widened. “You’re not screwing everything up.”

I shook my head. Of course I was. That’s what I did. I screwed things up. Always. That was why I was stuck alone on this planet.

She shifted her weight. “I can’t believe you’ve never kissed a girl before. I mean—look at you.”

I held out my arms and checked my human exterior. “Is there something wrong with me?”

Jess snorted a laugh. “No, your gorgeou … I mean, I think a lotta girls would be interested in you.”

Little did she know. She must be younger than I thought.

I tapped my chest. “Remember, this is Jared Linden. This isn’t what I really look like. Besides, girls don’t really care about your appearance where I come from.”

She settled more closely beside me. “No? Then what do they look for?”

“Accomplishment. Someone they can brag about.” I pursed my lips. “I’m the one who downed his plane on a simple communications mission. I’m the complete and utter failure.”

“I don’t think you’re a failure. I mean, you’re nice. You care, and you … I don’t know … you’re brave.”

“Brave? When was I brave?”

“Well, you saved me twice last night. You could have jumped out the window and left me in the hotel, and you could have left me in the car when you broke free. I’d probably be under hot lights being questioned by now.”

“You’d probably have been better off. Instead, you’re out here, hungry and freezing to death.”

She ran her fingers through my hair, and a sweet smile crossed her angelic, human face.
“David, there is nowhere else I want to be. If I wasn’t here last night, you might actually have frozen to death.”

She moved closer. My instincts screamed to move away, but I couldn’t. I didn’t really want to.

“I owe you a lot, you know.” I shifted my shoulders, uncomfortable so close to a female who wasn’t ordered to stand next to me. I didn’t really understand human ritual, but I liked touching. The warmth was comforting in a way. “If you want, you can do that kiss thing again.”

She smiled. “You don’t have to. I’m sorry I even tried it. I feel like an idiot.”

“Actually I kind of liked it. It was … warm. Nice.”

“You’re all about being warm, aren’t you?”

“You’d be too if you spent most of your night shaking in a frozen dementia.” I smiled and rubbed my cheek gently against hers. Would she understand what this meant?
Could she feel my need to be closer to her? “I liked it, Jess. I just didn’t understand what you were doing. My people don’t … kiss.”

She cleared my throat. “Okay. We can try it again.”

I forced down a childlike giggle. She actually wanted to be close to me. How was this possible? I firmed up my lips and pressed them against hers.

She laughed and pushed me away. “Stop.”

“What? Did I do it wrong again?”

Jess held back a laugh, I was sure of it. What did I expect?

“Tell you what,” she said. “Relax. Don’t be so stiff. Concentrate on the way if feels, and when I open my mouth, you open yours. Follow my lead.”

I don’t think I’ve ever been so frightened in my entire life. “Umm, okay.”

She licked her lips and eased closer. My lips brushed against hers, and she gently closed her mouth over mine. For a brief second, I forgot who I was, and who she was, and released the part of me I should have concealed. Something about her, the touch, the way she felt, it was like nothing I’d ever experienced. My lips parted, and she slid her tongue between them. The slight chill was nearly maddening, a sensation so wrong, yet so fulfilling, so right. I slid my hands behind her back and drew her closer. She didn’t push me away. Instead, she slid her palms under my sweatshirt and trailed her fingers down my back. A chill ran up my spine beneath her touch. I drank it in and feared it at the same time. She was cold. Human. Wrong, but so right at the same time. Everything about this embrace was strange, but it still took every ounce of my willpower to pull away. I looked down, struggling for a breath that wouldn’t come.

“Was that okay?” she asked.

I nodded without raising my eyes. “It was nice. Really nice. It’s, well, we’re alone, and it didn’t seem right. You don’t really know me, and that felt kind of … intimate.”

“That’s what a kiss is. It’s intimate.”

For the grace of the Caretakers! She felt it too. Did she want this? With me? “Why would you want to be intimate?”

The sweetness in her eyes dropped to despair

I leaned away. “I said something wrong again, didn’t I?”

Review- DEFY by Sara B. Larson

DEFY (Defy #1)
Sara B. Larson
Release Date: January 7, 2014
Hardcover: 336 pages
Publisher: Scholastic Press
ISBN:  978-0545597586
Source: ARC from the publisher
Rating: Obsessed!!!!!!!!!!!
From Goodreads.
A lush and gorgeously written debut, packed with action, intrigue, and a thrilling love triangle.

Alexa Hollen is a fighter. Forced to disguise herself as a boy and serve in the king's army, Alex uses her quick wit and fierce sword-fighting skills to earn a spot on the elite prince's guard. But when a powerful sorcerer sneaks into the palace in the dead of night, even Alex, who is virtually unbeatable, can't prevent him from abducting her, her fellow guard and friend Rylan, and Prince Damian, taking them through the treacherous wilds of the jungle and deep into enemy territory.

The longer Alex is held captive with both Rylan and the prince, the more she realizes that she is not the only one who has been keeping dangerous secrets. And suddenly, after her own secret is revealed, Alex finds herself confronted with two men vying for her heart: the safe and steady Rylan, who has always cared for her, and the dark, intriguing Damian. With hidden foes lurking around every corner, is Alex strong enough to save herself and the kingdom she's sworn to protect?

DEFY WAS AWESOME!!!!! Most of you know how much I love my High Fantasy and Sara B. Larson wrote a story that I can say (well at least in my opinion) is up there with my favorites! Yep add her to my list of faves such as Maria V. Snyder, Rae Carson, Leigh Bardugo, Morgan Rhodes, and Ursula K. Le Guinn!

What I loved about Defy was Alexa was a kick ass character! She was a girl who had been pretending to be a boy for years! She could even best most of the boys in a sword fight and was chosen as one of the Prince’s guards because of it. Now let me talk about the prince for a bit… Well this may take longer than a bit lol! Damien was arrogant and lazy and for the most part was a pain in the ass but, he was keeping secrets and when you start to find out those you get why he’s been acting like an ass and when I got to really know him I fell HARD for him! He will definitely be making my Top 10 Book boyfriend list!

I loved the fantasy world that Sara created! It’s beautiful and harsh and I felt like I could live there (as long as Damien was by my side lol) and I can’t wait for book 2! I’m dying to get my hands on it!

I chose an excerpt about Damien…. Well you’ll see why in a moment lol

I walked quickly across the room and did as the prince asked. When I turned, he stood by his bed, shirtless, his chest and arms coated with a fine sheen of sweat. His extremely well-muscled chest and arms. His stomach was flat and chiseled. He was as strong as any of the men on his guard, perhaps even more so than most. In the warm light of the candles, Prince Damien was almost painfully handsome. I suddenly felt too hot. Like all the heat in the room had surged into my body, coalescing deep in my belly. Lightning flashed, filling the room with bright white light, making me flinch.

“Was there anything else?”

My eyes widened when I realized I’d been staring at his body. My cheeks flamed, making me grateful for the low light of the candles. “Sir, you’re covered in sweat. Are you taking ill?” I asked, keeping my voice low and gruff. Manly. It was as good a cover as I could come up with. No one looked like that unless they exercised—a lot.

“I’m in perfect health.” He shot me a wicked grin. “As you may have noticed.”

My mouth went dry and my face burned even hotter. But before I could think of any other way to dig myself into a deeper hole of humiliation, he continued, “You may go, Alex.”

I bowed briefly and strode out of the room, my body on fire with embarrassment—and curiosity. There was definitely more to Prince Damien than I’d realized. But I was beginning to worry that he had realized there was more to me, as well.

Swoon Thursday (7)- Phoenix by Elizabeth Richards

Ok so you said you’d like me to keep doing Swoon Thursdays and I am here to please! Thanks to the lovely ladies at YA Bound for this awesome meme! I love being able to a share swoon-worthy snippet with you!

So this week I’ve decided to share a swoon-worthy scene from one of the books I read a little while ago but it doesn’t come out until June! This book was awesome and I know you all will be dying to get your hands on it after this passage!

Phoenix by Elizabeth Richards

This book was awesome and OMG Ash is so sexeh! I love this scene it’s steamy and romantic and just such a tease lol!

There’s another splash of water, followed by the sound of footsteps padding across the wooden floor. I turn around, my heart racing. Ash stands a few inches away from me. Beads of water snake down his bare torso, sliding past his belly button toward...I swallow, flushing. He  stretches out a hand and rests it on my hip. I can’t focus on anything but those five fingertips pressed against my skin.

He doesn’t do anything for a long moment, just gazes at me, silent and uncertain. A warm breeze flows through the open balcony windows, stirring his wet hair. Finally, he pulls me toward him, and dios his head. The kiss is slow, beautiful, intense, and I’m instantly lost in him. I lace my fingers through his inky hair and draw him closer, deepening our kiss. The beads of water on his body soaks through my cotton vest, making goose bumps break out across my skin, but I don’t care; all I can focus on is his hand sliding down my back. It rests above the waistband of my underwear.

“I’ve missed you…” he murmurs, his fingers slipping under the elastic.

So what did you think? Does this make you want to add it to you TBR? I’d love to hear what you think!

Swoon Thursday (1)- The Beautiful and the Cursed and Sweet Peril

So I’ve never done this one before but I’ve followed the Swoon Thursday meme hosted by the ladies over at YA Bound for quite some time and I thought I’d give it a go. I read so many books with swoon-worthy scenes and I’d love to share them with you all and not just as excerpts in my reviews.

So this week I’ve decided to share swoon-worthy scenes from two of the books I’ve read over the past week! They’re two entirely different books so I’m excited to share them with you!

This Gothic Paranormal story had me at Gargoyles and I love that it’s told in multiple POV’s so this isn’t the only swoon-worthy scene. There’s a lot more!

Nolan hooked his arm around her waist and brought her closer against him. It felt entirely different from when Thomas had gripped her. Nolan held her as if a riptide were trying to steal her away from him. A low, hungry groan rose up his throat—and Gabby gave in. Her fingers fanned out across his chest and she returned the kiss, her lips turning soft against his.

SWEET PERIL by Wendy Higgins

What more can I say? You all loved Sweet Evil right? And we thought Wendy pushed the boundaries in that one with the hotness! Well she upped the game in this one BIG TIME!

He pushed forward until I was against the stacked washer and dryer, and his knee slipped between my legs.

“To you,” he whispered, his breath hot against my mouth. “I swear it.”

The kiss became fast and frenzied, pulling each other closer with greedy hands until Kaidan broke away and breathed against my ear, “Let me see you again.”

So what did you think? Do you all think I should keep doing this? I have tons of books with swoon-worthy moments I can share with you! Let me know if I should make this a weekly feature! Also what are some of your swoon-worthy scenes of the week?

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time." Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden. If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome. But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed. Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...

Dear Jennifer, stop writing such awesome books! No really don’t lol

I have had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer and, just like her books she is awesome. I don’t know how she does it. I mean having two very successful series and more books coming out. This woman is like Superwoman or something! And what kills me is her books don’t hit slumps, each one is better than their predecessor. Deity is definitely the best of the Covenant series so far!

This one starts up a little bit after Pure ends and the drama picks up almost immediately. Seth, OMG people! Seth is just shady in this book no way around it. I loved him in Pure, I even thought I may be leaning in a Team Seth direction but, nope he fixed that one in this book. I am totally Team Aiden!!!! Well for Alex that is. For me I’m Team Leon lol and the big guy has a secret in this one. I screamed “I knew it!!!!” when I found out but, it only made me love him more. Oh and don’t fret, along with the drama there are tons of steamy, downright hot, sexy scenes that will make you want to say “how can she get away with this in YA?” and then think “Ya know I don’t really care.” Lol Oh and if you’re a crier you will cry! I bawled in a few places but the crying is so worth it! This story absolutely rocks and the ending?!?!? Trust me you will curse Jenn because that ending is just plain evil and you will be dying to get your hands on Elixr like I am!

I had one heck of a time picking a passage. I wanted to share them all lol. But here goes!

“Look,” Aiden said, his hands rising into the air. “Get mad at me. Hit me. It doesn't change anything.”

I moved toward him, to push him but not actually hit him. “You can’t---“

Aiden caught both of my wrists and hauled me into his lap, switching my wrists to one hand. He sighed. “I didn’t mean for you to actually hit me.”

Too stunned to respond, I just stared at him. Our heads were only inches apart. My legs tangled with his, and then he reached up with his free hand, smoothing the mess of hair back from my face. My breath caught as my heart sped up. Our gazes locked and his eyes turned to quicksilver.

He cupped the nape of my neck. I heard his sharp intake of breath. Then he let go of my wrists and grasped my hips. Before I could blink, I was on my back, and Aiden hovered over me. Using one arm to support himself, he lowered his head and brushed his lips over my swollen cheek.

“How do we always end up like this?” he asked, voice rough as his gaze traveled away from my face and down my body.

“I didn’t do this.” Slowly, I lifted my hands and placed them against his chest. His heart jumped under my palm.

“No this was all me.” The lower half of his body shifted down. Our legs were flush. His eyes searched mine, “It gets harder every time.”

Review-The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven Boys
Maggie Stiefvater
Release Date: September 18, 2012
Hardcover: 416 pages
Publisher: Scholastic Press
ISBN: 0545424925
Source: ARC from the publisher at ALA
Rating: Loved
From Goodreads.

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve,” Neeve said. “Either you’re his true love . . . or you killed him.”        It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive. Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them—not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her. His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He has it all—family money, good looks, devoted friends—but he’s looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little. For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore. From Maggie Stiefvater, the bestselling and acclaimed author of the Shiver trilogy and The Scorpio Races, comes a spellbinding new series where the inevitability of death and the nature of love lead us to a place we’ve never been before.

I love Maggie’s books! I love her writing style and how she can draw you into a story with such force you feel as if you’re actually living it! This is how it was for me with The Raven Boys! I fell in love with the story from page one. Oh and peeps this is not a love triangle story! Hell there’s actually not much of a love story either! I mean the MC Blue? She’s not supposed to fall in love she’s been told all her life that she’ll kill the boy she loves with a kiss. No we don’t know if it’s the actual kiss that will kill him but she doesn’t even want to risk that. This story is one of action and adventure. It’s a quest to find a long lost king and the ley lines where he has been hidden. It’s also a story about folklore and psychics and magic. I loved every minute of it!

So onto the characters Blue rocked she was probably one of my favorites of Maggie’s! She was smart and she didn’t take crap from anyone. I loved her name too. Oh the boys I know many of us will disagree whom is our favorite there’s three (I know it says 4 but when you read the book you’ll understand why I only say 3) to choose from. Gansey, the very rich, good-looking scholarly boy is definitely a love of mine but he didn’t steal my heart. Ronan did! Even though he’s a serious badass with a huge chip on his shoulder I fell hard for him with his dark hair, tattoo, secrets, and overall bad boy feel. Yep what can I say I’m a sucker for a bad boy! Oh but there’s this part with a baby bird where he melted my heart I was a goner after that. Then there’s Adam who I know a lot of people liked but I couldn’t stand! His pride and stubbornness made me want to smack the crap out of him! I don’t care how good looking he is he just rubbed me the wrong way.

Ok enough about my love or lack of love for the characters time to share an excerpt. This one is from the beginning of the book and I felt it really started the story in a great way!

He was so real. When it finally happened, when she finally saw him, it didn’t feel like magic at all. It felt like looking into the grave and seeing it look back at her.

“Is that all?” she whispered.

Gansey closed his eyes. “That’s all there is.”

He fell to his knees—a soundless gesture for a boy with no real body. One hand splayed in the dirt, fingers pressed to the ground. Blue saw the blackness of the church more clearly than the curved shape of his shoulder.

“Neeve,” Blue said “Neeve, he’s—dying.”
Neeve had come to stand just behind her. She replied, “Not yet.”

Gansey was nearly gone now, fading into the church, or the church fading into him.

Blue’s voice was breathier than she would have liked. “Why—why can I see him?”

Neeve glanced over her shoulder; either because there were more spirits coming or because there weren’t—Blue couldn’t tell. By the time she looked back, Gansey had vanished entirely. Already Blue felt warmth returning to her skin, but something behind her lungs felt icy. A dangerous, sucking sadness seemed to opening up inside her: grief or regret.

“There are only two reasons a non-seer would see a spirit on St. Mark’s Eve, Blue. Either you’re his true love,” Neeve said, “or you killed him.”

Ok peeps so The Raven Boys is out now go get this one you won’t be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and check out the trailer! It’s pretty cool Maggie likes her animated trailers J

Bound together by forbidden magic, Brianna and Blake find themselves at the heart of an ancient feud that threatens to destroy their lives and their love.

First this cover is gorgeous Talia got lucky with her cover artist! Second I loved this book! This was a new mythology. I have never read anything about Celtic myth (in YA) and since I’m Irish I was eagerly awaiting this one. I will say one thing this book even though it is YA there is some very adult things about it. There is more talk about sex and other aspects to sexual relationships than I’m used to in YA. Also more drinking. It may not be for some younger YA readers but it I loved it. Talia got real. I mean what teenager doesn’t talk about this stuff?

I loved some of the characters in this book Blake, Austin, Joe, Brianna, Micah, and Jeremy but there were others I could not stand. Like most of Brianna’s friends they were shallow and just bitchy. I have no clue why Brianna was even friends with them she would have been better off alone. The people were only a small part of this for me though I really loved the story itself and the myth & magic. I’m really hoping for more of the myth in book 2 Gold as well and also more of a backstory on a few of the characters. Ahem….Joe…ahem lol

Clearly I haven’t picked a “Team” yet on this one since I’m not rambling about a boy Talia made it tough to choose. I love Blake and Austin both for very different reasons oh and Joe too! See you’ll just have to read Silver to find out what I’m talking about.

I chose a passage that I thought was funny it made me laugh so hard!

Micah nods. “We should be hooking up, not killing each other.”

Blake laughs.
Joe takes a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and taps it lightly against his wrist. “Let’s just say that none of us wouold be too upset if you knocked Jonah down a peg or two. We’re here to show you how.”

I unclasp the bracelet, setting it in Blake’s palm and step away.

“No way!” Jeremy steps back. “No effing way!”

Micah laughs. “Jesus, no wonder Jonah went all psycho-spaz.”

“Dude, Jonah is always going psycho. It’s a permanent condition.”

“Check her out. He must’ve freaked.”

“He’s still a douche.”

Wow. So apparently, Harold and Kumar go to the spirit realm.

Blake grins at them. “You guys want to help her learn to kick Jonah’s ass?”

“Does a baboon’s ass need Rogaine?” Jeremy high fives Micah. And then they’re gone.

I take the opportunity created by their disappearance to confront Blake again. “Are you sure about them?”
