I did the 'baby' text stitching seperatley.
and here is the final set up which they photographed.
I made that little green rug he sits on too.

back from oaska

I had a great time in oaska, thank you to all my friends at dream ranch for taking such good care of us. good (new) food, and lots of fun!
these are the deer that guard nara park. they are so friendly you can walk right up and pet them. the park has been there for over a thousand years with generations of deer guarding it.

these giant statues were inside todaji temple.
I did 3 workshops while I was there, it was something I have never done before, challenging yet fun. I'll post the pattern and instructions later.
this is one of the display walls with my plush.
this is a 'Roo-tote' brand bag I designed. they collaborated with artists on a
mickey/minnie tote bag series.

5,6 & 7 for japan....

the plush with the heart shaped faces are part of my "I heart U" collection.
I probably won't post all 50 that is too many, but I'll post as many as I can.
I will be doing a little sewing workshop during the exhibition, a little plush, I will post the pattern and instructions when I get back if anyone want to make one.  you'll have to wait to see what it is!
a couple of years ago I started making tags for my dolls. they are all made out of scrap fabric, so all my little pieces don't go in the trash. there's my 'green' for ya.
this is the info for the show in osaka if anyone is in japan:
abeno kintetsu dept. store
1-1-43, abenosuji, abeno-ku OSAKA
if you are interested in pieces from the show you may call: 06-6624-1111
or e-mail: dr-info@dreamranch.net

corns

usually I would do a drawing before I make any plush, but for the corns and apples I did not. it was more about making a kernel-like texture of corn. that was the most tedious part about making the corn. this was a plain piece of fleece I sewed this texture onto.
ripe for the picking!

check out his 'a peel!'
these are also for the food show at munky king nov. 15th.

BEFORE and AFTER

apple skins
and apple cores
I made these red apples out of red velour, good amount of sheen and stretch.
I called this blog 'progress report' because I really enjoy the process of making things. figuring out the shapes, colors, etc. so I am going to try and put more 'progress' pictures in the future. these apples are for a food show at munky king gallery in los angeles opening NOV.15th. I'll post more info and pictures closer to the show date.

pretty flowers

the orange ones remind me of some sort of muppet.
