the mighty hawkwind and their mighty images in nine different versions from 1990

the wonderful "images" from the 1990 album space bandits has always been one of my favourite songs from the post-1976 hawkwind, and so i collected and compiled at least nine different versions i found on youtube and in my own collection for your and my very own listening pleasure. so sink a-long with us:

memories surround them
walking through the door
smells of dust and summer heat
embroidering his thoughts
the seeing hand
the face of fate
the shifting scenes i can't explain
the crazy fool who screams his pain
as he tries to cheat life's final game
whispering from the balcony
fingers in the hall
the well worn path of alternity
appearing here once more
it's gone now
it's gone now
twist the soul
turn flesh to stone
the fear and the anger
of the lost and alone
endless dreams of wasted days
slowly fade away
laughter echoes bitterly
there's no need to stay

needless to say; but here's the band, in case you don't know them:

hawkwind live at st. albans in the winter of 1979

in the winter of 1979 the everchanging hawkwind were dave brock (vocals, guitars, keyboards), simon king (drums), huw lloyd-langton (guitars), harvey bainbridge (bass, keyboards) and tim blake (vocals, keyboards); the perfect link between hippie violencia and radical ridicule punk chic: old and loud, snotty and sensitive, incoumportable ass hell.
this-here not all too legal cd has been recorded during their uk winter tour 1979 in the city of st. albans, 19 miles northnorthwest from the city of london. the quality of the recording is okay for hardcore fans like me, but it is obviously not the first choice to play to newbies of the church of hawkwind. by the way, in 2007 i uploaded their orgasmatron album to a rather obscure file sharing service and it has been discharged a long time ago, but even now i re-uploaded the .rar-file; so it can be downloaded again. and what is more, the discogs entry for this cd did not feature any pictures and i just uploaded them there.

hawkwind live in space 1990 / 30 minutes of sheer sonic attack / released on stampa alternativa in italy 1991

these recordings were released on a free cd accompanying the book "hawkwind - the never ending story of the psychedelic warlords" that came out in italy in 1991 and is now almost 25 years later rather hard to find. the book contained a short history of hawkwind, some of their lyrics transferlated to the italian language, an abbreviated version of their family tree, some photos and graphical reminders and a very short and not all too elaborated discography. i bought the book for the cd, of course.
the cd contains only one file, 30 minutes long, with six tracks played seamlessly. there is no hint where and when it was recorded (somewhere somehow in 1990, of course), but most likely discogs seems to be right: you will hear dave brock (aka dr. technical), alan davey, richard chadwick, harvey bainbridge and the wonderful bridget wishart on vocals, the bridgehead to the sound of amon düül 2 as far out as my ears can go. i really love this very special line-up of hawkwind and i especially love the song 'images', all five versions i own on repeat 24 hours a day.
so here we go:

the hawkwind orgasmatron live 1971 to 1992

and now for something completely different. or did you really expect to find some hawkwind in here? orgasmatron is a collection of live recordings released in 1992 with only very few to almost no information included, and the sound quality ranges from worse to evil. 10 tracks recorded between 1971 and 1992 are listed on the cover, the hidden track number 11 is a version of silver machine, of course. no one expected the mighty hawkwind: and i love them...
