Tonight Run Forrest Run aka Kidlet and I will be heading downtown for training in for the Cascade AIDS Project Art Auction. Auction takes place Saturday the 18th and we are working registration from 4:30 -9:30 that night. Should be fun. Getting Gimpy Girl downtown? Not as much. CAP is in a funky spot in downtown PDX and I have got to find a decent spot to drop her off so that she does not have a hell of a trek. Then I have to find parking. Yikes. But we get to eat downtown. I am feeling like Greek food so I think we may hit the Greek Taverna. NO ...The Marrakesh! Oh yes the 5 course dinner with the soup and salad and a brochette of lamb. Hell yes. I love that place. Kidlet will literally spaz out if I tell her we are going there. Oh yes and belly dancing. Beats Hells Kitchen. Sorry Gordon. Training runs from 6-730 and then it's Moroccan food for us. They have the best mint tea and they pour it in a most cool way.
On that note I am off to fine food in the cafe and I leave you with 90 seconds of the new Green Day single. They did a one off surprise concert in San Fran on Tuesday. Right after Kidlet leaves. She is not amused.
Me loves this.

Hoping Kidlet is mending quickly...
Have a great dinner and training
Green Day is gone :(
Did you say Belly Dancing? I'm so there. Have fun. Cheers!!
There are so many different little ethnic restaurants near where I work. So what do you suppose I have for lunch almost every day?
Subway.
I'm a heathen.
Dammit! The freakin band is streaming it and it gets yanked from YouTube? I swear to god the stupidity that turns down free advertising is the reason the record companies are tanking.
Awesome deal with you and the Kidlet.
My girl and I wanted to walk together in the "Walk to end Breast Cancer"... she's too young. So, we're looking into volunteering.
Came back to listen... I like it.
Good for you and Kidlet. Hope this auction goes well.
Hiya Starrlight,
Thats great you're doing something about one of the worlds great tragedies... it's fantatstic.
On something completely different I thought I'd show you this comment that was put on my blog:

Loved the Yeats poem, Shane. I had never encountered that one before.
I did meet Yeats's son and his daughter-in-law at a lecture in college. They talked about their dad and also told a very funny story about their son asking for extra lunch money to pay U2 NOT to play at lunch, when he was in school with them and they were just starting out. I guess they were playing in the cafeteria and were pretty bad.
I replied and said that You would now hate Yeats forever!!lol
Best wishes, Shane. x
What a cool story Shane! And by their own admission, they sucked when they were in high school. They are all pretty much self taught on their instruments outside of Larry's band drumming. I love that story!
Southern - last night was training. The auction itself is a very big social event in portland. Kidlet and I are the front lines, checking folks in and registering their cards for bidding. Which means we get to dress up and hob nob with the swells ;)
nice job with working the auction with the kidlet!
drag she missed GreenDay...
Happy Easter to you guys and your fam.
You and Kidlet are the "front lines," huh?
I'm sure you'll do well.
