Chainmail più che base * Real basic Chainmail

La tecnica Chainmail veniva utilizzata nel medioevo per realizzare le armature dei cavalieri, oggi viene utilizzata per creare dei gioielli molto particolari. Il metodo prevede, attraverso l'unione degli anellini metallici, la creazione di catene secondo degli schemi predefiniti.

Io ho voluto provare per la prima volta da uno schema molto, ma moooolto semplice creando alcune parti di questo bracciale multifile in ottone naturale e cristalli bicono. Sicuramente una tecnica interessante e divertente, ma che prende molto tempo, specialmente se si vogliono usare anellini piccoli come piace a me!

The Chainmail technique was used in the Medieval times to realize the armours for knights, today is used to create particular jewelry. This method consists in linking metal rings to create chains following a pre-made pattern.

I wanted to experiment this method for the first time following a basic, veeeery basic pattern to create some parts of this multiple row bracelet made with natural brass and crystal bicones. It is an interesting and enjoyable technique but it takes a lot of time, especially if you want to use small rings like I usually like to do!

Una nuova collana realizzata con uno splendido cabochon Swarovski color ametista e incastonata in un inserto di perline miyuki con finitura al palladio, questa finitura ha un colore argentato diverso dal solito, più scuro, che si abbina meglio alla catena con finitura nickel (nickel come colore non come metallo!).

A new necklace made with a beautiful Swarovski amethyst cabochon, set in a bezel of Miyuki seed beads with palladium finish, this finish has a silvery color different from usual, darker, that goes better with the nickel chain (just nickel as color, not as metal!).

Romance necklace

Ho comprato un filo di queste pietre - intendo quella del pendente - all'Hobby Show un paio di settimane fa ma ho dimenticato di chiedere cosa fosse. Se qualcuno la riconosce mi dia qualche suggerimento. Ha un color melenzana fantastico e poi quelle striature la rendono molto particolare e ho pensato che l'ideale fosse abbianarla all'oro e il fiocchettino di velluto, anch'esso color melanzana, rende tutto l'insieme molto romantico.

I bought a strand of these stones - I mean the one of the pendant - at Hobby Show a couple of weeks ago but I forgot to ask what they were. If anyone recognizes it give me some hints. It has a fantastic eggplant color and those striations make it very special and I thought that the ideal was to mix it with gold and the velvet bow, same eggplant color, makes the whole combination very romantic.
