Scrapbook Essentials BC Sketch Challenge

Happy Valentine's Day! We have another challenge at Scrapbook Essentials BC this week!  It is another clean and simple sketch this week, I sure hope you like it!  Feel free to make the tab on the side a pull or a sentiment or anything that inspires you!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Pink Cat Studio "Lily at the Beach"
Papers: Red and Turquoise, with White
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Inks, Copics

I was happy to ink up my Pink Cat Studio stamps called "Lily at the Beach". Stacey at Scrapbook Essentials BC is able to order Pink Cat Stamps, please contact her by emailing her by clicking HERE. I coloured the sweet Lily with my copic markers and I used the Tiny Mosaic Embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The embossing folder mimics the turtle's shell!  I hope you have the chance to join us this week!

Freshly Made Sketches #20-A Sketch by Me

This week at Freshly Made Sketches I am the hostess!  I created a long sketch, I think we all came up with our own dimensions, don't worry about the size of your card, just something that is longer than usual!  I am also pleased to welcome our February Guest Designers Kim S. and Tracey V.

With me card, I started out with the idea of using the Balloon set from Stampin' Up called "Up, Up and Away".  Then I looked through my 6x6 paper pad sets and found a set that I had barely used called "Summer's End" by Fancy Pants Designs.  I used Baja Breeze and Tangerine Tango as my main colours and the sentiment was inked with Chocolate Chip and Tangerine Markers.

The ribbon comes from Stacey at Scrapbooking Essentials BC.  I love the gathered edges of this ribbon!

I hope you get the chance to join us this week and to try out my sketch!!!

Scrapbook Essentials Challenge-A Sketch from ME!!

Welcome to another week at Scrapbook Essentials BC.  This week we have a sketch created by me!  In fact, starting today we will be doing 2 challenges per month instead of 4 so that means you have TWO WHOLE WEEKS to join us!!!

The sketch is REALLY simple and easy I hope!  I inked up a Pink Cat Studio Stamp that I have not used in SUCH a long time.  This sweet image is from the set "Tweet Plate".  If anyone is wishing to order any of the Pink Cat Studio stamps, please contact Stacey ASAP by clicking HERE.  An order will be placed once a minimum order is reached.

I used some new goodies from Stacey's STORE to make my card!!!!  The pattern paper is from Basic Grey and is called "Kissing Booth", it is so pretty!!!  I also used some Copics to colour the main image.  These are the colours I used below.

The circle is cut using the Lacey Circle Die from Spellbinders, also available in Stacey's online store!  The embossed pink paper was created using a new to me embossing folder that I found online in Stacey's store called "Tied Together" by Couture Creations.  The best thing about this embossing folder is it is 5x7"!! Now you can do the whole card front without any borders.

Won't you join us this week?  Click HERE to join us!

Scrapbook Essentials Challenge #6-{A Colour Challenge}

Tuesday is here and that means another fun challenge from Scrapbook Essentials BC.  This week we have a colour combo to inspire you!

They are masculine colours to me and so I went ahead and got out my favourite Essential Stamp called "Seaside Lighthouse".  You can order this set by clicking HERE.  I am also using the new Bo Bunny Paper called "Picket Fence" which can also be ordered in our online store by clicking HERE.

The main cut out I used is a Spellbinder Nestability Labels 9. I love these labels because they can be use with my Oval Dies.  The entire image is coloured with Copics and the whole card is Sponged with Memento Ink in "Rich Cocoa".

I hope you can come join us this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Lesley

Scrapbook Essentials Challenge #4-{A Sketch}

This week at Scrapbook Essentials BC, we have a sketch made by me! I hope you will get the chance to come and join us and play along!  I used the Seaside Gull and Shells again, which I love. I tried something new but sponging inside the nestability frame to add some shading to the image.

This is definitely a more masculine card and instead of going for a tall card, I made my card short.  I hope you get the chance to join us this week!

Lesley

Scrapbook Essentials Challenge #3-{A Colour Challenge} and MOJO 220

Happy Tuesday!!! Today at Scrapbook Essentials we are offering up a Colour Challenge that I hope you will be able to join in with!  This week's challenge will last for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to join us over the holidays until noon on January 1st!

Seaside Gull & Shells

I decided to create a feminine Thank You card, using the set called "Seaside Gulls and Shells".  This time I inked up the shells in the set and added a Hero Arts Script stamp to it to create a background for the sketch. The sentiment comes from an old retired stamp I have in my stash.

I used the awesome sketch over at the Mojo Monday Challenge blog.  I hope you get the chance to join us this week at Scrapbook Essentials and you should check out the sketch at the Mojo Monday!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Freshly Made Sketches #15-{Thanks}

This week at Freshly Made Sketches, Cindy Hall is our hostess and she has come up with a fabulous sketch for us this week!  I decided to flip the sketch and make a long card, with the panels being on the long side, rather than the short side.

I used an old SU! set that I had wanted for a LONG time!  I missed it when it came out and retired but a good friend recently gave it to me.  I was over the moon when she did that! Thanks Jane!  I loved the colours over at Create with Connie and Mary and I also wanted to play along with the Scrapbook Essentials Challenge to use Wet or Dry Embossing.  The red panel is embossed with the Finial Press Embossing Folder from SU!

Scrapbook Essentials BC-Challenge #2 {Wet or Dry Embossing}

This week at Scrapbook Essentials BC, we are challenging you to use Wet or Dry embossing on your project!  I choose to use the Seaside Lighthouse Set, which is one of my favourite sets from Essential Stamps!  I love the way this set stamps, and I coloured it with my Copics.

I hope you can see the Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder I used on the background piece of my card, I thought it looked like swirling air...what do you think?  I also finished it off with a button, to add a little interest.  My designer paper is from Kaiser Craft, the "Vintage Timeless" collection.

Seaside Lighthouse
We hope you will get the chance to join our challenge this week which will go live at midnight.  Get out your embossing machine, be it heat gun or cuttlebug, and get bossy!!!

Remember, participants do not have to use Essential Stamps to join us.  Just play along with what you have!  If you do use our stamp sets, your name will be entered into a draw at the end of the month for a FREE Essential Stamps Set.  How cool!!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Scrapbook Essentials BC Challenge Blog Sketch Challenge #1-{Whimsical Butterflies}

Today is the first challenge for a brand new Design Team I am on called ""Scrapbook Essentials BC Challenges"!  Yeah!  I am so excited to be on this design team with my blogging pals!  We are sponsored by the online crafting store "Scrapbook Essentials BC" and we will be featuring the products they carry in their online store, especially their new stamp line called "Essential Stamps".

Today I am showcasing one of their cling rubber stamp sets called "Whimsical Butterflies 1".  I used the smallest of the three butterflies and inked it in black on Aqua and Pink Paper.

The butterflies were then cut out and popped up on dimensionals for some "lift".  I used some My Mind's Eye Designer paper from the 6x6 pack called "Lost and Found-Blush".  The rhinestones come from "Kaiser Crafts" and I used my Big Shot and Nestabilities to create an oval for the circle shape on the sketch.  I also wanted to play along with the gals over at CR84FN and use their awesome colour combo for my butterfly card!

Come and join us at "Scrapbook Essentials BC" and play along with our sketch this week!!!  I sure hope you do!  And be sure to visit my Design Team pals and their blogs to see what they created!  Participants do not have to use "Essential Stamps" on their projects, but if you do use one of our stamps, your name will go into a draw to win the featured Stamp of the Month! We will draw one name per month. We will ship the stamp set to anywhere in Canada and the US.
