Stamp-A-Holics 134- An Inspiration from Cynthia

Stamp-A-Holic Design Team Member Cynthia Stevenson has given us an awesome inspiration photo to try this week!  Of course, at the Stamp-A-Holics Challenge, you can make a card, layout or 3D item...your choice.  This week I have chosen to make a card and it had to be made in 10 minutes or less!!  Well I did it by stamping simply!

Here is her pretty inspiration photo.

This is what I came up with...and in 9 mins and 48 secs!!!  Whew...I was a mad stamper!!!  But I kept the card simple!

When I saw her photo, I immediately thought of using Concord Crush and Old Olive together.  I also loved the pretty white hand rail and tried to copy that with the scallop edge punch on my card.  I wanted to keep this card clean and simple and decided to stamp the main flowers all in Concord Crush rather than inking each one individually with markers...I liked the bold statement the solid colour made.  You can't tell in the photo, but the flowers and the sentiment are stamped on Shimmery White Paper and the Old Olive Satin Ribbon really shines too!  It is a special card...I will save it for a special occasion.

Stamp-A-Holics Sketch 133

This week's Stamp-A-Holics Challenge is a sketch created by ME!!  I love creating sketches, it is so much fun!  So I was pleased to be able to have a turn at creating one for the Stamp-A-Holic Challenge! Recently I took a little break from my DT duties at the Stamp-A-Holics Challenge, I just needed a long break...and spent July traveling with my husband and August getting a new Challenge Blog up and running of my own!  Carole'Anne and Sandi are just the best!  They supported me while I was off and I appreciated it!!!  Thanks ladies!!

Now, onto the sketch.  I wanted to create something clean and simple that could be added to!  The circle that is there can be any shape...and doesn't need to hide...it was just an idea...of course any sketch can be intrepreted!

This is my 10 minute card turned into 27 minutes....I was rushing!!!  I used my new Music Notes Wheel and wheeled in Cherry Cobbler all over the Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  Then I inked up a new set called "Bells and Boughs" from the upcoming Holiday Mini Catalogue in Early Espresso and stamped on top of the Cherry Music Notes...I created my own DSP.

Then I cut a piece of Very Vanilla...2 1/4" x 4" for the strip...and stamped the main image in Espresso, sponging the edges with Crumb Cake.  Then I rubbed my versamark pad all over that piece, poured some Clear Embossing Powder on it and heated it up with my Heat Gun.  I was left with a shiny, vintage looking piece.  I decided to make an A2 box to hold a set of these cards.  This was not a part of the 10 minutes!!The front of the box is created the same way as the with the music wheel and the stamp set.  The main image in the middle of the box is from the new "Deck the Halls" Designer Paper...I cut out one image from it...isn't it pretty paper!

Okay, you are up!  Go on by Carole'Anne's Blog and link up your STUNNING creation with the sketch. I can't wait to see what you create!

Lesley :)

Stamp-A-Holics Challenge #128

After a long week at work and feeling a little under the weather on Friday, I finally got my Stamp-A-Holics Card done tonight!!!  I timed myself but have no photos of the creating of this card, I wish I did.  Please forgive me and just know that it was NOT a 10 minute card!!  Oh no!  This one took me 27 mins!  Eeek!  But I am so happy with it, I think it was worth the extra time!
One of our Stamp-A-Holics DT members Debbie created this fun sketch!  I took the liberty of changing my oval to a rectangle and then changing the other ovals to different shapes as well.  I just don't have any ovals!!  So I improvised!  I tried the cloud sponging technique (thanks Glen!) with Sage Shadow and then inked up my floral stamp in Rich Razzleberry.  This is the first time I have used this stamp!
Would you like to come and play along?  Then come on over to Carole'Anne's blog by clicking HERE and submit your card to the linky.  You can also check out the other DT members' cards!

Stamp-A-Holics Challenge

This has been one hectic week with work and life.  I am a little late posting my Design Team creation for the Stamp-A-Holics...sorry ladies!!!  This week we are doing a 20 minute scrapbooking challenge!!  Here is the design from DT member Marisol!  I LURVE it!!!
I am notorious for spending HOURS on my scrapbook pages...mostly because I keep adding "stuff" to it.  This 20 minute deadline was good for me, it made my focus more and I really worked hard to try to make the deadline.  Did I succeed?  Keep reading...you will soon find out! LOL!
Here is good ol' Mr. Linky....smiling at me, he knows my scrapbooking fetish and knows I am always long winded when it comes to creating the "perfect" page!!!  Well I'll show him!  It is 10:11am and I am determined to be finished at 10:31am!!!  Here goes!
I got my supplies together...then I started...
I wanted to make a page for my husband Corey.  He lost his granny this year and she was such an important part of his life.  He also loves gardening and the many hummingbirds we have in our garden, so I tried to incorporate all of those elements into the page!
Here is the page, starting to come together.  I used my Big Shot to cut out the letters for Granny and then typed my journalling on the computer and printed it out on Whisper White Cardstock.  I wish I had My Digital Studio...it is on my list for July! Here is the final page all done ad here is my time!  25 minutes!!!  Not bad!!!!  Woo-hoo!!!

Stamp-A-Holics Inspiration Challenge and Stampin' 411 Sketch

It is time for another Stamp-A-Holics 10 minutes or less challenge!  This week we are challenging you to make a 10 minutes or less card using this inspiration picture provided by Design Team Member Nancy.  I loved the colours in this photo!  She has given us lots to play with here!
Here is Mr. Snappy...already to go!!!  He is timing me and I must tell you...he won...but I had fun making my card!  Here it is...I used this wonderful sketch from the Stampin' 411 Crew
My card is all neat and tidy, like the well made bed in the inspiration photo!  And the colours reminded me of sherbert, so I went with the new "Sweet Scoops" set!  Can you see the glitter on the sherbert?  I cut out each scoop and popped them up...yep...this is WAY past 10 minutes...hehehe!  I didn't realize until later, that I had put the ribbon in the wrong spot!  It has been a LONG week! :)
This card took me until 7:12pm to make...that is...hmmm....quick math here....32 minutes!!  But I had fun making it and that is all that matters!  I paired up the ice cream image with this sentiment because I always feel like I am "not" behaving well when eating ice cream!!! LOL!!!

We hope you play along with our Stamp-A-Holics Challenge this week.  To play along, please visit Carole'Anne's Blog found HERE to link up your creation!
