Kenny K Father's Day DT Card

Happy Sunday to everyone! Here it is, the middle of June already and the days continue to fly by with no sign of stopping. I know our friends in the northeastern and midwestern states are more than happy to welcome summer at last but for me, I'm already yearning for cooler weather! It's not even officially summer and we have already reached temperatures in excess of 95 degrees!!! I'm afraid that as cold as the winter was up north, the summer will be equally hot down south.

Enough of my climate commentary. Now on to more fun things.... the new challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Krew. This week is Team A's turn to wow you with their inspirational Father's Day projects. Next Sunday is the day we celebrate fathers, those amazing male figures that head up our family units and provide guidance and discipline for our children. They are often underappreciated and Father's Day is our time to remind ourselves, and them, just how much they mean to us.

For my own contribution to the design team examples, I used Kenny's Club Kid image. The Glam Gang collection are my favorites of all of Kenny's images because they are so versatile and fun to color, aside from being sassy and sexy. Our sponsors this week are Kenny K Downloads and Marianne Designs. So without further delay, here is my Father's Day inspiration.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

TBD

Please join us this week for a chance to win some fabulous prizes and an opportunity to appear in Kenny and Elena's Spotlight next week! Take care, have a wonderful week and Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! Until next time...

She's All That for WOW Embossing Powders

Hello, WOW fans! Today, I have a cute birthday card for you that I made for the WOW Embossing Powder Blog. It can be used for either a male or female birthday, which in my book, is always a good thing. The image I used is called "All That" by Kenny K and she can be purchased in Kenny's online store. The WOW Embossing Powders  I used were Cable Car Red from the Suzy West By The Bay Collection and Earthtone Blueberry from the Suzy West Pantry Collection. I also created the sentiment with a stamp from WOW's stamp set called "Everyday Sentiments". All of these items are available for purchase through many local scrapbooking stores as well as online. Amazon has them for a great price right now.

You can see the Cable Car Red powder around the outer edges of the yellow patterned paper as well as on the checked pattern on the banner. I used the Blueberry powder on the sentiment and outlined it with white gel pen to make it look hand painted (sort of graffiti-like) and also to make it show up better.

I didn't know if I would love the primary color palette but after I put it all together, I really did like it. Most of you who follow me know that I do love bright colors but I normally steer clear of the primaries with very few exceptions. I may have to rethink that approach now! LOL

I haven't finished the inside of it yet as I was up against a deadline that I didn't want to miss.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes (with optional sketch)

Crafting When We Can - #39 Earth, Air, Fire & Water (the colors in my card represent fire- those colors present in flames)

I hope you enjoyed my little WOW project and that you'll stop by the WOW Blog and leave a comment if you have a few minutes. Thanks for visiting me today. I'll be back soon with another new project. Until then...

Another Quick Post...

Hello again! You might recall that I posted a card a couple of weeks ago called Valentine Hat using an image by that same name by Rick St. Dennis. Well, today I have another version of that card that I made for my dear sister-in-law for her birthday tomorrow. She has already received and opened it so I'm free to post it on my blog now! LOL I colored this one all in red, the traditional color for Valentine's Day.

I really liked the purple one but when I finished this one I loved it even more.

Here's a closeup of the image. She was, of course, colored with Copics, my medium of choice. I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Sparkle and Glitter - #11 Spring Is In The Air

That's all I have for you for now but come back tomorrow for another birthday card I made for the WOW Embossing Powder blog. If you love red, you'll love it too! Until then, be nice to one another, tell your loved ones everyday how much they mean to you and find time to do something creative.

Hugs to all,

1890s Hat (Rick St. Dennis)

Hi, all! Well, we've all survived another Monday it seems. I'm going to keep this short and sweet as this card is made specifically for the final challenge at Sparkle and Glitter, the Rick St. Dennis Challenge Blog. Such a shame too because I had intended to apply for the design team next time there was a call. It's apparent that there are some exciting changes to come but what they are hasn't yet been revealed. Anyway, I am posting this card late in the evening so I can get it entered into the challenge before it closes on Wednesday. I may have one more entry tomorrow night. The theme for this last challenge is "Spring is in the Air". This fabulous hat as well as the colors I used just says Springtime to me.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:
Sparkle and Glitter, the Rick St. Dennis Challenge Blog - #11 Spring is in the Air
That's it for right now. Check back tomorrow for another of Rick's pretty ladies. Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll come back soon. As always, your comments are both welcome and very much appreciated. Until next time...
