Uncle Sam And George Say Cheese!
I have always adored this design. The last frame has always made me giggle. I began this on the day before the 4th of July, as a patriotic start. I knew that I would not have it finished in time. I really enjoyed working on this piece. I really do need to get the rest of this series. They stitch up very quickly and I really do think they are a hoot!
Design: Flags and Friends (from the 2010 Photobooth series)
Designer: Marsha Worley and Elizabeth Newlin of Bent Creek
Fibers Used: DMC in 321, 612, 646, 729, 823, 839, 931, 950, 3371, 3864 and and 3865. Needle Necessities #1091 Independence Day (retired floss).
Accouterments: Mill Hill beads in #40123 in Petite Cream and #42014 Petite Black seed beads

Just In Time For Thanksgiving
Finished this up late last night, but had to wait until this morning for good lighting. (Thank you, Mr. Sun!). This took me about 1.5-2 weeks to stitch up. I took my time with this and just enjoyed the process. I love the way it turned out and am looking forward to the next one.
At any rate, here's the latest finish:

Love Happens Finish
Finally got around to my first finish of the year. Yay! My current WIP, Christmas In Paris, is on hold until I can get the rest of the floss in. Major bummer, but no floss, no stitch, yea? :)
So, while I am waiting for more floss to come in, I picked up a UFO out of the bin and managed to finish it up late last night or early this morning, depending on your viewpoint. :) It finished up rather quickly and I am really pleased with it.
Design: Love Happens photobooth
Designer: Bent Creek
Fabric: 32 count raw linen as provided in the kit
Fibers Used: DMC Six Strand Embroidery Floss Art. 117
Accouterments: Mill Hill petite glass beads in 42014, Black

A note about the box in the background. It was on sale at my LNS and I snagged for a really nice price. I have no idea why it called to me, but it did. And into the basket it jumped! I did some research and found out this was part of the Where In The World Is Mary Kirby series by Brightneedle. Naturally, I fell in love with the series, and naturally, it's long OOP and discontinued! At any rate, here's some pictures of the box itself:

If anyone has any of the Mary Kirby designs for sale for a reasonable price, please contact me. I would love to have more of these! :)
Well, I best be off for now. Got a jam packed day. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! :)

WIPapalooza
I have finished exactly nothing. At this juncture, I am seriously considering ditching my New Year's resolution to finish the 25 projects I had set aside and just start over come January. Work has been crazy and for whatever reason, my migraines have returned. I do not know what's causing it. However, I *do* know my boss was upset that the second time that I got one, I called out. I replied that I had called out because the *last* time I had a migraine and I was at work, instead of sending me home, I got booked 6 hours of massage. Really?!
At any rate, what all of this means is that my stitching time has seriously been curtailed. I work too much and come home too tired to do anything more than cook a simple meal for me and The Hubmeister, then off to bed to read for a bit, eventually passing out with a book on my face. I managed to put a bit in the Love Happens photobooth and start two more. I seems to be unable to shake the Blackbird Designs addiction, and after the last Nashville Needlework Show , I'm even more in the dumper. I purchased more than I should have and while I should probably feel guilty about it, I really don't! Their new book, A Stitcher's Journey is particularly beautiful and I cannot WAIT to get started on something from the book.
At any rate, here is what I have so far on the Love Happens photobooth:
Design: Love Happens photobooth
Designer: Bent Creek
Fabric: 32 count raw linen as provided in the kit
Fibers: DMC Six Strand Embroidery Floss Art. 117
Here is the Blackbird Designs that I am working on:
Design: Summer Iris
Designer: Blackbird Designs
Fabric: 28 Ct. Legacy Cashel Linen by Picture This Plus
Fibers: Crescent Colours Cappuccino, Weeks Dye Works in Dove, Fawn and Rum Raisin, and Gentle Art Sampler Threads in Grecian Gold.
Here is the other project that I am sloooooooooooowly working on:
Design: Pink Flower
Designer: The Workbasket
Fabric: 28 Ct. Legacy Cashel Linen by Picture This Plus
Fibers: Fibers: Crescent Colours Belle Soie silks in Collard Greens, Fern Frond, Rosebud and Rose of Sharon
Well, I am off to make dinner. Having marinated chicken, twice cooked potatoes with garlic and onions with carrots on the side. Can't wait! :)
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! :)

Love and Hubris
It must be written into the genetic make-up of a stitcher, that no matter what time constraints that may be presented to said stitcher, they are immediately dismissed with a pert 'No problem!' and a smile. Only 2 weeks until Valentine's Day? It's your wedding anniversary? You need something to commemorate the event? No problem :D!
Such is the case when I took it upon myself to stitch something for myself and Teh Hubmeister to celebrate our second wedding anniversary yesterday. I had chosen a cute little kit that I was *POSITIVE* that I was going to get done in time. Riiiiiiiii-iiiiiiggggggggggggttttt! What I didn't take into account that Teh Hubmeister and I would be moving on February 1 and how busy I would be at work. Ah, well! I did give it the old college try! :D
At any rate, here is what I have so far:
Design: Love Happens photobooth
Designer: Bent Creek
Fabric: 32 count raw linen as provided in the kit
Fibers: DMC Six Strand Embroidery Floss Art. 117
Teh Hubmeister loves what I have done so far. I gave it to him yesterday, as is, as this wedding anniversary was a bit lean on gifts as we moved into our first home together at the first of the month. I am going to my weekly stitch in at Stitcher's Paradise tomorrow and this is the only project I am taking with me. I have several Blackbird Designs charts that are calling my name, however, in vain am I fighting off their siren song. So far I am winning, however, there is new 28 count Picture This Plus linen in Legacy and new Crescent Colours Belle Soie silks that I have set aside for said Blackbird charts and it's getting quite difficult! :)
Well, I am off for now. Have things to do before DH and I have dinner. Hope everyone is having a wonderful week! :)

Finished already
Finished the Bent Creek bunny. While technically I have finished stitching it, it has yet to make it into an actual completed finish. Ah, well.
Stitchy notes and pic:
Design: Hare Lines
Designer: Bent Creek
Fabric: 28 count black jobelan
Fibers: Weeks Dye Works Snowflake for the bunny, Chartreuse for the border. (I'm thinking that good substitutes would be DMC B5200 and 992 or Crescent Colours Antique Lace and Frozen Margarita.).
Quite frankly, I have no clue why I bothered with the Weeks Dye Works 'Snowflake'. Even on the black, you cannot really see the subtle variegation in the thread, even close up. It's a shame because it has pale blues and pinks in it, if you look close enough. I should have remembered the Whispered by the Wind "Snow' freebie that I stitched a few years ago. I used the same thread and same black 28 count fabric and you can't even tell that I used variegated thread at all. It sucks, but whatareyagonnado?
I have absolutely no clue as to how I will finish this project, however, I have a year to figure it out. :)

Scattered, Smothered, and Covered
It's been a while since I've had a post, but really, I haven't felt like posting, let alone stitching. Life is really stressful ATM, and I sort of feel like a plate of Waffle House hash browns: Scattered, Smothered, Covered, Chunked, Topped, Diced, and Peppered. Which, for those of you out there who have not had this particular Sex on a Stick, means that there are a lot of things on my plate, it doesn't look too pretty, and I am not sure if I can finish the whole thing, and if I do, how much heartburn am I going to have. Such is life, I suppose.
When I *have* felt like stitching, it's like I have ADD or something. It's not for very long, and I keep skipping to different projects. I've started two more projects. Oh, well. I suppose it doesn't matter as long as I stitch on *something*.
No updates on the Eiffel Tower project. I've stitched on it some, just not enough for it to matter. That, and I forgot to take pics. :(
Here are my two latest ones plus the subsequent stitchy notes. Both are freebies that you can find on the intarwebz.
On the left of my stitchy bag:
Design: Hare Lines
Designer: Bent Creek
Fabric: 28 count black jobelan
Fibers: Weeks Dye Works Snowflake for the bunny, Chartreuse for the border.
On the right of the stitchy bag:
Design: Love Letters (member only)
Designer: Papillion Creations
Fabric: 32 count mocha linen
Fibers: DMC B5200 and 815
Hopefully, I will soon have a finish and more importantly a JOB. I need one very badly, for my sanity, if nothing else.
Hope everyone is having a ham filled Easter Sunday.
