My Personal Shopper ~ Day 12 of the 12 Days of Creepmas

Bwa Ha Ha! Airless Chambers has once again been celebrating Creepmas by joining the 12 days of Creepmas Blog Hop organized by Smeared Ink. It's my turn to host the hop at Airless Chambers with my art journal project for Day 12.

My journal page is about my perfect solution to all of the stresses of finding just the right gift for each person on my list. I hired a personal shopper, the star of the image known as Creepmas Shopper. Isn't she amazing? I coloured her and all of her purchases with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils. Red Stickles was added to her cigarette end to make it glow and to the holly berries in her hair. White embossing paste was added to the Santa hat, and Glossy Accents to all the eyeballs. The image was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border which was then matted with black.

The background started as a 6 x 8 inch rectangle of green glittery dotty paper. A wreath stamp was added with Library Green Archival ink and a crosshatched pattern with Fern Green Archival. Washi tape was applied to white cardstock, trimmed with a fishtail end and applied in three places. The one grounding her eas given a black triangle end and a white metal snowflake coloured with a red Copic marker. The other two were topped with purple buttons threaded with purple floss to connect to the purple in the image. Black cardstock corners were added and black snowflakes punched and adhered randomly. The sentiment was computer generated, printed on white cardstock and matted with black. Both the words and my shopper were popped up on foam tape to create dimension. To finish the page, black Big Brush pen was added to the edges and black matting to the entire page to frame it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you want contact info for this shopper so you are all set for next year, message me...LOL. Won't people be surprised when they open their gifts!

Merry Creepmas!

Wendell Wreath ~ a Rick St. Dennis Creepmas image

Bwa Ha Ha! Airless Chambers is once again celebrating Creepmas by joining the 12 days of Creepmas Blog Hop organized by Smeared Ink. Today is Day 8 of the Creepmas blog hop on Airless Chambers. I'm here today with an art journal page dedicated to all of us (and I'm afraid I'm included) who have had to sit on the Naughty Step in 2015. I've been on it so many times that the step is worn to fit my behind perfectly!

The mixed media piece features the ever so creepy Wendell Wreath...so fun! I coloured Wendell with Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils, adding Glossy Accents to his lovely bulging eyes. Silver gel pen was used to colour the balls on the wreath. He was fussy cut leaving a narrow white border and then matted with black cardstock before being popped up on foam tape.

The background began as a 6 x 8 inch rectangle of mixed media paper which had sprinkles of  Leaf Green, Turquoise, and Cobalt Blue Brusho crystals added in little groups. Water was spritzed over the crystals and the card was tipped and tilted to create runs and drips. Once dry, circles were added with a Stampotique cube and Cobalt Blue Archival ink. Text was added with a Joggles stamp and Viridian Green Archival ink. White embossing paste was scraped through Dylusions Bubbles stencil. A special delivery stamp and some Penny Black Alpha stamps were added with Jet Black Archival. A spider sticker was popped up on the inside of the special delivery impression.

The Creepmas tree was hand drawn and cut from spray clean up cardstock with corrugated cardboard for the trunk. A skull sticker decorates the top and Idea-ology black tinsel plus some black half pearls make Wendell's tree a show stopper (he thinks). The tree was popped up on foam tape and a scrap of cheesecloth became the snow. Washi tape was placed behind the tree to ground it. The computer generated sentiment was printed on white, matted with black, and popped up on foam tape. The tiny word, Again, was created with stickers. To finish the page, Black Big Brush pen was added to the edges and the entire piece was matted in black.

Thanks for visiting Wendell and me today. We appreciate that!

To each his own ~ Rick St. Dennis Progressive Challenge

Hi everyone! Not only does today mark the first day of Creepmas but it is also the start of Part Two of the Progressive Challenge on the Sparkle and Glitter blog. For part two, we all use the same image which was the freebie given to those who played along with Part One. The image is a Creepmas one called Take Yer Pick. He makes me chuckle.

I coloured TYP with a mix of Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils. Glossy Accents was added to the eyes of the prezzie and the pumpkin as well as the prezzie's teeth. They were then fussy cut leaving a narrow white border and matted in black. Foam tape was added to the back to pop them off the background.

The background, a 6 x 8 inch rectangle of mixed media paper, was sprinkled with Ost Red and Orange Brusho Crystals and then spritzed with water. By picking up the background and turning it several ways, the colours blend and create new colours. Once dry, Autumn Maple Crimson Starburst spray was added in a horizontal line across the top third line and allowed to drip and run. More of the spray was splattered on the background by tapping a brush loaded with it. Stamping was added with Rocket Red Gold ink and a spider web border to which black pen was also added. The three bats stamp was inked with Archival Magenta Hue and each bat was given half pearl eyes. The holly and berries stamp was added with Jet Black Archival ink. I wanted the mix of Halloween and Christmas stamps to further the Creepmas theme as well as the choice the prezzie is giving us.

Black Marble Dylusions paint was pounced through Memory Box's Rings & Puddles stencil and White Dylusions paint through TCW's Tiny Circles stencil. The lettering was added with black foam Thicker letters. TYP was placed over a piece of cheesecloth to represent snow and a black spider sticker with a jewelled back was adhered over that. A doodled border continued the spider web border from the top. To finish, the edges were inked with black Big Brush pen, and a black cardstock mat was added to frame the piece.

Thanks for joining TYP and me today. We appreciate your stopping by. To see the other fabulous creations from Team A of Rick's EDT, be sure to stop by the Sparkle and Glitter blog. We would love to see what you create with this fun image. And check out the Zibbet shop to see a whole bunch of new Creepmas images and Rick's Creepmas colouring book.

The East Wind and Simply B Stamps Creepmas Contest

Hi everyone. This week there is a special event over on Facebook. The East Wind and Simply B stamps are collaborating for a fun Creepmas contest. Both Umky and Betty have designed an image specifically for this event and the DTs from both have created inspiration projects to get you started.

The first of my projects features The East Wind image called Lucy Loo "Creepmas Elf's Gift Wrapping Service". I coloured Lucy, her snake ribbons and gruesome gifts with a mix of Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils. Glossy Accents was added to the various eyeballs and then the piece was fu a narrow white border. Black matting was added to the image and foam tape was used to pop it up.

The background was created with layers of Brusho crystals as well as some Starburst sprays for extra shimmer. Forget-Me-Not Archival ink was used to create pattern using a Christmas music stamp. Library Green Archival ink was applied with a Joggles background stamp. Four tiny Christmas trees were die cut from black and threaded through with washi tape applied to white cardstock in order to create a border. The sentiments were either computer generated and coloured with Prismacolor pencils or sticker letters dotted with black paint pen. A TH skellie charm was adhered to the background with Glossy Accents before it was matted with a black frame.

My second project features the awesome image created by Simply Betty of Simply B stamps. I love the look on her face. It goes perfectly with the sentiment that comes with this stamp. Again, I used Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils to colour her and then fussy cut and matted her the same as the first image, popping her up on foam tape,

The sentiment was printed on white cardstock and cut with a Spellbinders Label 26 die. It was then faux stitched and matted with black before it was also popped up on foam. The 6 x 8 inch rectangle of mixed media paper was colourized with Brusho crystals and water as well as Starburst sprays from Lindy's. A snowflake stamp was added in several places with Red Geranium Archival ink and some black dots were stamped with Jet Black Archival.

Three Christmas tree buttons were adhered to the right side of the background and a wee tree border was doodled. Before the image and sentiment were adhered to the background, a skinny piece of cheesecloth was layered over the background near the bottom and adhered to the back side. A scallop border was die cut from sparkly green dotty paper and another skellie charm was adhered in the middle of that. The edges and matting were done in the same fashion as the first project.

Thanks so much for popping by. I hope you will go and check out the Simply B/The East Wind Facebook event. It's going to be fun!

Merry Creepmas ~ Rick St. Dennis Airless Chambers project

Today is Day 5 of the 12 Days of Creepmas organized by Smeared and Smudged.

It's my turn to post on the Airless Chambers blog and I have a mixed media Creepmas project. I began by spraying my white bristol background with water and then Dylusions Cut Grass, Fresh Lime, and London Blue ink sprays. That layer was dried and then the background was dipped into the leftover spray on the craft sheet drying in between dunkings. The final coat was a spritz of  Iridescent Gold Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist for that creepmas glow...lol. The edges of the background were inked with Black Soot and then black Big Brush pen. The bristol was matted in black cardstock and then mounted on chipboard for strength.

An icicle border was die cut from white cardstock, shaded outside with a Stabilo black pencil and outlined with black Micron pen. Two different patterned washi tapes were layered onto white cardstock and then adhered  below where the two stars of the show would stand to ground them. White punched snowflakes were scattered around the background.

Creepmas Witch Tree and Phineus Pucker were coloured with Prismacolor pencil and fussy cut leaving a narrow white border. They were then both matted in black and popped up on foam tape.

Glossy Accents was added to their eyes and Wink of Stella was added to the dear witch's hat and ornaments. Metallic gel pen was also used to outline her lovely cape.

A third image, Creepmas Bones, was printed on white cardstock, coloured with Prismacolor pencils and cut with an oval die. It was framed with a black oval which had paint added to the edge in a checked pattern. Icicle Stickles were added to the spider webs on the design.Doodling and inking with Black Soot completed the outside edge of the sentiment.

The other sentiment, which expresses poor Phineus' dismay at what he has found under the tree, was computer generated, printed on white cardstock, and matted in black. The segments were popped up on foam dots for extra loft. Black pearls become the thought bubble trail of Phineus and a black cardstock arrow indicates the tree under which (or is that witch) his present awaits...poor lad!

Thanks for joining Phineus, his witchy friend, and me today. We appreciate that.
