My Astonimically Good Friend Card

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card inspired by the January mood board ! Have you played along? Oh you HAVE to play along!! All of the details can be found here ! Ok, so on to my card! I used the super adorable Astronauts Stamp Set from Avery Elle ! I just love those astronauts, but I'm especially in LOVE with that little moon!! eeeeep!! Cutest ever! lol! I stamped the images and then colored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. Then, once they were dry, I fussy cut out the images, but if you wanted to make it even EASIER,  you could use the coordinating dies ! Then, I used a white gel pen to add some details to the images! For the background of the card, I did some watercoloring on the Distress Watercolor paper with black, navy, dark teals and an aqua color to create the night/galaxy sky! And then once that was dry, I used some white embossing paste and the Falling Stars Layering Stencil to add some texture! I heat embossed the sentiment in white ...

Birthday Bash

Hello everyone and happy Friday! It's Ashley with a sweet birthday card that I made for my amazing mother-in-law using Mama Elephant's The Birthday Bash . It's her birthday today! Happy birthday, Tina! I didn't want to lose any of the image, so I decided to make a slimline card. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to make a soft background on watercolor paper , then splattered it with shimmer . I cut it down to 3 1/2" x 8 1/4" and mounted on a piece of Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock  cut to 3 3/4" x 8 1/2". I stamped the main image from The Birthday Bash along with two of the heart balloon clusters onto Bristol smooth cardstock with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I watercolored the images with my Zigs before cutting them out with the matching dies . I really wanted to give the main image dimension so I die cut it four times from Lawn Fawn Mermaid cardstock for a peek of color. I ...

Heart and Soul

Hello, BRI fans!  Toni here today celebrating spring and all growing things. I am so glad spring is finally here and I can start to enjoy outdoor time again! For this card, I started by diecutting the Lawn Fawn Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Backdrop out of a luscious chartreuse green color. I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere it to the card base.                        I next stamped the Pinkfresh Studio Heart and Soul image onto watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black . I colored this up using Zig markers. A really quick color too! Finally I stamped the sentiment using Versamark and embossed it in white. It's mounted on Scotch Foam Tape . For a full list of ingredients and to check out my other creations, visit my blog, Frankie Helps Craft .  I'll see you next week!

Fairy Wishing

Hello, BRI fans! Toni here with you today! For the card background, I stamped the Mama Elephant Wishing You sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with gold. I then sponged Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick and Salty Ocean around it, placing a bit of emphasis at the bottom so there was more shadow behind the diecut. Can you see the strip of gold at the bottom as well?  I masked the card base and used Versamark to emboss more gold. Next up: the Pink Fresh Spring Floral Die . I love its folksy vibe, don't you?  I also love that it comes as a two-parter for even more versatility.  I used both parts in my card--the top left in white and the bottom sponged ombre-style with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn . I used Ranger Multi Medium Matte to adhere the intricate cut. I'm a messy crafter and MMM is a godsend as the glue dries matte and hides my messiness. :) Now time to color up a few of the Mama Elephant Little Fairy Agenda images using Copi...

Sound the A-llama!

Hi, BRI fans!  Toni here with another fun birthday card! I don't know about you, but I LOVE a good pun (or a bad one--LOL) so absolutely had to get the Avery Elle Llamazing set.  Come on:  "Sound the A-llama"--too cute to pass up!!! I started the card by using Distress Oxides and the MFT Card-Sized Confetti Stencil  to create a fun background. I framed the card front using the Hello Bluebird Gallery Frame 1 outside diecut. Next I diecut a bunch of candles and colored them with Copics .  The llama is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and also colored with Copics.  I drew attention to the sentiment by stamping part of it in red. LOVE!  A few Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins adhered with Ranger Glossy Accents finish off the card. Check out my blog, Frankie Helps Craft , to see more of my creations.  See you soon!

Birth-Yay!

Hello, everyone!  Toni with you today and have I got some birthday cuteness for you! My first card features MFT Birth-Yay  stacked critters stamped with  Versafine Onyx Black  and watercolored with Zigs on Strathmore Bristol Smooth ( Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper would work well too).  I used the MFT Card-sized Confetti stencils and Distress Oxides for the background. Isn't that fab?  Even more fab is that the Confetti stencils come in a set of two that are reversible so there are a number of combinations to make each background unique.  Cool! I finished up the card by adding a strip of Doodlebug washi at the bottom and stamping the  MFT Birth-Yay  sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black . My second card uses the MFT Heart Tree die and one of the cute  MFT Birth-Yay  birds. The background behind the tree is a leftover of a Ranger Alcohol Lift Ink project. Such an easy to pack in a lot of wow! The  MFT Bi...

Merry Little

Hello, BRI fans! Toni here with you today trying to keep my New Year's resolution of spreading my holiday card making throughout the year rather than lumping it all at the end.  Any bets on how long it lasts?!  And did you know BRI is having a huge clearance sale right now?  Check it out! For today's card it's all about the pink. I sponged Ranger Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry onto the card base and spattered it with water.  While that was drying I diecut the white panel using the MFT Christmas Tree Window and a scalloped rectangle. I used a leftover bit of a panel watercolored with Lindy's Magicals. You could get a similar shimmer using Wink of Stella . To finish the card I embossed one of the Mama Elephant Holiday Messages onto a Lawn Fawn Everyday Banner using Versamark and my favorite Ranger detail white embossing powder. Feel free to check out my blog, Frankie Helps Craft , to see my other creations.  I'll see you next week!

'Owl are ya?

Hey there!  Ashley again here up on the blog today! So happy to be here to share with you this cute and fun card I made recently.  Let me take you through the steps. First I stamped the images from the Happy Owlidays stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps with Gina K. Amalgam Ink and colored them with my copic markers.  I then cut them out with the coordinating Happy Owlidays Dies .  Setting aside the cute little images, I started on the base of the card.  I had a pre-made card base and took my Festive Berries Oxide ink and inked up the center in a circular motion.  When it was how I wanted it, I spritzed it with water and quickly soaked up the excess water with a paper towel.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Foxy Christmas Stamp set onto the front of the card.  Next I adhered the images to the card with thin foam adhesive squares.  To finish the card off, I applied Christmas Red Stickles to the berries and a few Clear Round Drop...

Thanks a Bushel!

Well hello!  So glad to be here with you today.  I have to say I am loving fall.  It finally feels like fall here in AZ.  We've been getting a lot of rain and just beautiful weather here.  So I wanted to dig into my stash of favorite stamps that have a fall theme.  I grabbed some of the good ones.  These sets are both from Lawn Fawn but they are so great!  Here is what I made with them: I love these two sets.  One is Thanks a Bushel and the other is Cutie Pie .  So great for fall.  Here is how I made it.  First, I cut a square from patterned paper and adhere it to a square card front.  I stamped the images with Gina K. Amalgam Ink and then colored them with copics.  I then used the coordinating dies for Cutie Pie and Thanks a Bushel and cut them out.  Next I used a square die cut and adhered it to the patterned paper.  Using foam adhesive, I adhered the images to the card front.  I then st...

You Make My Heart Smile

Hello and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink. This is Tanya from Studio 5380 and today I have a pair of sweet thank-you cards to share with you: These bright, colorful cards were so much fun to make! I used the fabulous Die-namics Stitched Blooms set from My Favorite Things to create these amazing flowers and leaves. Next, the inky fun began with Distress Inks in lots of bright, happy colors including: Picked Raspberry Wilted Violet Squeezed Lemonade Spiced Marmalade Twisted Citron After inking up my flowers and leaves, I adhered them together with a bit of Ranger Multi Medium Matte glue and gave the centers a little sparkle with a clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. Once my flowers were completed, I created a black and white background using a white card base and a black mat created with the Lawn Fawn Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Backdrop die. My sentiments and die cuts are from the My Favorite Things stamp sets, All Smiles and All About You....

All Kinds of Awesome!

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a fun, merma-zing card!! :) Ha! I started by adding some watercolor-y look to white cardstock with Distress Inks ! I used Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon (fitting!). I just smooshed the ink pad onto my kraft mat and then spritzed with water. Then, I pressed my cardstock into the watercolor and let dry. I repeated this process 2 or 3 times. And once it was all dry, I added some white splatters with white paint! Once the paint was all dry, I die cut the cardtock into waves with the new Lawn Fawn Stitched Wave Border dies ! Next, I stamped and colored the ADORABLE mermaid from Neat and Tangled's Mermazing stamp set! I think she's soooo cute!  Then, I fussy cut the image out and popped it up over the waves with foam tape!  The sentiment from So Many Sentiments was heat embossed with Ranger's Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder to match the silver foil wave!  Thanks for stopping by! ~ Samantha

Wishing You a Lifetime of Joy & Happiness

Hello and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink. This is Tanya from Studio 5380 with a card that is near and dear to my heart! My son and his sweet bride-to-be are having their first wedding shower today so this is the perfect time to share the card I created for their special day... I absolutely love these beautiful swans from the Splendid Swans Stamp Set from My Favorite Things.  After coloring, I used the coordinating die set to cut out my images. My background was created with the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil from MFT and Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick.   I used Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon to create the water.  It is so easy to blend multiple colors of Distress Ink or to work with stencils when using the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and I always love the results. After finishing my background, I adhered my colored images with  Scotch Foam Mounting Tape. For finishing touches, I added a little sparkle with a...

In a huff...

Hi friends of BRI!  Norine here with you today!  Weird blog post title, right?  Hang on, I'll get to that in a second. So, I've been dying to use this Floral Background stamp from The Stamp Market for weeks now.  I gave it a test run back here , but I really wanted to make a project where it's beautiful design was the focus.   I tried a few versions of this technique, first with Gelatos, then the Prima IOD water soluble oil pastels , to little success, and a bunch of wasted watercolor paper.  Coloring directly onto a stamp with  heavily pigmented crayons like those, and then spritzing water on the stamp and stamping onto watercolor paper, is a fun technique, but one that produces a very loose and watery style, and I wanted something more defined for this project. So I switched to Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock, and water-based pens.  Tombows, Distress markers , any kind of water-based marker will do.   And here's ...

Did Someone Say...Mermaids?

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card with you! Yay card!! Ha! I used lots of products available in the shop, so let's get into the nitty gritty and then you can get to the shopping! :) I used the adorable Mermazing stamp set from Neat and Tangled and I am in LOVE with all of these images! Eeeek! So cute, right?! I colored her in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers , and then fussy cut her out, but if you're not a fussy cutter, there are coordinating dies , too! and that makes this card even easier! **And guess what, the coordinating dies are ON SALE ! ** To create the background, I used Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch to create that FUN watercolored wave! I started by smooshing the ink onto a piece of plastic packaging in a wave shape, spritzed it with water, and then pressed it onto my cardstock!  I repeated that process a few times with the various colors to add some depth. And when it was all dry, I splattere...

Hello, Pumpkin

Hello and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is Tanya from  Studio 5380 with a sweet fall card to share with you today.  I absolutely fell in love with the Darcie's heart & home stamp collection and couldn't wait to put together a card using some of their adorable images...     For this card, I used a couple of stamp sets: Pile of Fun and Hello Autumn.   To begin, I stamped my images onto some white cardstock and colored them with my Copic Markers.  Next, I masked off my images and inked up the background using Distress Inks in Carved Pumpkin and Fossilized Amber .   My top layer was created with the MFT Stamps Stitched Rectangle Die Set and I used the MFT Stamps Blueprints #27 die set for my brown, scalloped layer. To finish up my card, I added a few sequins from the Neat & Tangled Peacock Feather Sequin Mix.   Sequins are super easy to adhere to any project with a bit of Ranger Multi Medi...

Celebrate

Hi there and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 with a sweet birthday card to share with you today: I'm loving the bright, happy colors on this fun card! I created the "Celebrate" background with the fabulous Celebrate Speech Bubble Die from My Favorite Things. Before die cutting the bubble, I inked up some white card stock with Distress Inks in the following colors:  Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade. While my inked up panel was drying, I colored these cute little guys from the My Favorite Things stamp set, Furever Friends.   I added birthday hats and the bow tie from the MFT stamp sets, Happy Hippos and Beary Special Birthday. I popped up my fun little birthday buddies on the front of my card with a bit of Scotch Foam Tape. And, as a finishing touch, I adhered a few sequins from the Pink Lemonade Mix by Neat & Tangled with some Ranger Multi Medium Matte. Thank you for ...
