ADFD August Kit Club and Blog Hop

I can't believe it is August already and time for a new Kit Club release and blog hop over at A Day for Daisies.

You should have arrived here from Kadie's blog. The design team is show casing all the wonderful images from the "sketchpad" collection. Make sure and leave a comment on all the blogs on the hop as well as at the ADFD blog for a chance to win this entire collection of images.

I got to play with "love birds" this week.

I had so much fun creating my card this week. I used Hero Arts 'large lotus' stencil along with PTI newspaper print stamp background. I added a couple of layers to the flowers to make them pop on the card along with some of my hand-dyed ribbon.

Your next stop on this blog hop is Mila's blog. If you get lost along the way please go to the ADFD blog for a full list of design team members.

(this is my second post today, please scroll down for my Sentimental Sundays post)

This past week was full of good news I was asked to join the Scribbles Designs design team and was totally excited to be able to play along with this talented group of women.

Today they are introducing the newbies so make sure to stop over and meet all of the Scribblers over on the challenge blog.

I thought I would share a couple of valetine cards I made using some of Sandy's digitial images which can be in the store.

First up is a card I created using "brr my valentine". He is just totally too cute and so fun and easy to color in.

Next up I used this cute little truck image called "hearts truck" suitable for any little or big guy in your life.

Hope to see you playing along with us on our current challenge. You can get all the details over on the blog here.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

Peeking Posies - FMS59

I don't know about you but I love paper piecing and fussy cutting.

I used papers from the newest Dear Lizzy collection "5th & Frolic", along with my all time favorite Hero Arts stamp set called 'peeking posies", and a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I bought this stamp back in early 2006 and to this day it is still one of my favorites.

I am entering this card into this weeks challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.

happy

A quick card to share with you before I head out of the house to enjoy this beautiful fall day here in Minnesota.

I created this card for this weeks sketch challenge over at Retro Sketches

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I had to use my favorite Hero Arts stamp along with the new SN@P collection of papers by Simple Stories. Archivers had an exclusive SN@P 6x6 paper pad if you spent $30 so I had to get it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today it really means a lot to me.

hello ~ rs#32

This past week my son and I went up to North Dakota to visit my sister a couple days and on the way up there we stopped at Crafts Direct. All I can say is OMG, I am so lucky I told my son I would only be in the store about 10 minutes as that place was huge and I could of spent a lot more time and a lot more money inside.

I picked up a Hero Arts stamp set along with the new Amy Tangerine "ready, set, go" 6x6 paper pad.

I used this weeks sketch over at retro sketches as my inspiration for this card.

peace ~ merry monday #33

I have a quick card to share that I created for this weeks challenge over at Merry Monday.

For my card I used a new stamp by Hero Arts called Winter Trees, the flair button is by BasicGrey from the Aspen Frost collection, a QuicKutz embossing folder along with some ribbon from my stash.

This is the sketch for this weeks challenge and if you hurry you still have time to play.

Well it is definitely cool here in Minnesota and our furnace actually turned on this morning. They are predicting our first frost tonight.

Thanks for stopping by and as usual your comments are appreciated.

hello "mojo"

Oh yes, you read that right, my card making "mojo" is slowly returning and I owe it all to the Hero Arts June Sketch challenge.

Don't you just love all 3 of these sketches? The one that had me at "hello" was the one with the fish tails. I love making them lately so it was only appropriate that my first card be made with them.

I used PB&J by BasicGrey. It is one of my all time favorites by them and I want to use it on everything.

It is hot and humid here in Minnesota so I have been trying to stay indoors where it is a just a little bit cooler.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back soon with another card to share.

Enjoy your day!

hearts

There is a new challenge over at "Less is More" and it is to create a one layer card using hearts. Well I can't believe I only own one stamp with a heart on it and it happens to be a valentine/easter stamp.

This bunny image is probably the oldest stamp I own. I bought it in 1998 when I first started my love of stamps. It is a Penny Black stamp and the pink wording in the background is a Hero Arts "friend" stamp.

I went to Archivers today for a few hours to meet up with a friend and work on a mini album I am making for Cassie. Once it is finished I will post pictures.

Thanks for stopping by.

happy day ~ ftl158

A couple of cards to share with you today that I created yesterday while I watched movies on Netflix and watched the rain through my window.

My first card is for the newest challenge over at Clean and Simple Stamping.

I kept my card pretty simple using just black and white Neenah linen along with a Sizzix embossing folder, PTI stamp, Cosmo Cricket stickers and Martha Stewart border punch.

Here is this weeks sketch that I used for inspiration.

Next up is a card I created using the sketch from Hero Arts along with some Authentique "glowing" papers and PTI "tag its #7" stamps.

Thanks for stopping by to look I hope you enjoy. Your comments are welcomed and appreciated.

be well

It is Friday once again and that means time for a new release over at A Day for Daisies. It also happens to be time for a new challenge and this weeks challenge is "Get Gift-y"! Make a beverage related "gift" - it can be a teabag holder card or box or whatever!

This weeks new release is another fun one and I got to use "tea time fairy".

I created this little box using a tutorial over at Splitcoast Stamps called "mini pizza box" it was so easy and took just minutes to create.

Here is a look at all of this weeks new release images.

Don't forget to stop by the blog and see what the other design team members have come up with.

Enjoy!

grateful for you

I have a really clean and simple card for you today that I created for this weeks CAS-ual Friday challenge.

The challenge this week is to use embossing either dry or heat embossing and for my card I did a little bit of both.

Sorry the picture is so dark I could not get a good photo today and when I tried adjusting the colors in photoshop it just kept getting grayer.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

Enjoy!

paper piecing and paper pleats

I had fun today making up a couple cards and using an old technique and trying out a new one.

First up I paper pieced this card that I am entering into this weeks sketch challenge over at CPS.

For this card I used some new papers by lily bee design from the "this & that" 6x6 tiny tablet collection. The stamp I used is an old favorite of mine from hero arts that they recently brought back.

I think I spent about 3 hours working on this card as it took me forever to figure out which patterned papers to place in which order. I think I like how it turned out?

Next up is a card I created just because. I watched a SplitCoast video today on making paper pleats and ended up with that pieces so needed to create a card for it. The flowers and leaves were in my little basket on my desk and so the card was born.

I am going to enter both of these into the 2011 Gallery Idol.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

Enjoy!

friendship

Have you checked out the challenge this week over at Less is More? It is called "pick a square".

I saw Chrissie's card and knew immediately I wanted to use some of my Hero Arts flower stamps.

I used my Distress inks on the stamps and then I used a sentiment from PTI "wildflower garden".

Here is the sketch showing the 5 different squares that you could pick from.

So any plans for today? I am hoping it doesn't rain as I need to get out in the yard and pull some weeds, lots of weeds.

Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy!
