30 Is The New 20
Hey there! How was everyone's week? I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to the weekend! I have to squeeze in a lot of crafting time between now and Sunday, which is Father's Day here. I'm headed to the craft desk now as a matter of fact, but first I wanted to share a card I made for my co-worker's birthday. He turned 30 and I was like "nu-uh, no way!" He looks a decade younger (or maybe my perception is off because I'm a decade older)! Anyhoo...
I just loved J-Cool from Kenny K for this occasion! I colored him with Copics and added glaze to his glasses. He is cut and matted with Classic Ovals Nestabilities (Spellbinders). I also used my Classic Circles Nestabilities and embossed it with a brick textured folder. The city scape (Skyline Border) and numbers (By the Numbers) are both Die-namics dies from My Favorite Things. The corner is Sizzlits Photo Corners 2 die. Papers are Basic Grey - Wanderer. The sketch I've used is Sketchy Colors (#214).
I usually struggle a bit with masculine cards but this one came together pretty easily! And I actually like how it turned out! Check back over the weekend to see what other crafty shenanigans I've been up to!
Markers used: Copics (E04, E15, E17, E19, E25, E27, E31, E33, E34, E70, E74, E79, R89, N0, N2, N4, BG70, BG72, Y28, YG61, YG67).
Challenges:
- Crafty Girls Challenges: #20-Anything Goes
- Art Impressions: #135-Hip To Be Square
- As You Like It Challenge: Favorite Embossing Technique and Why (dry embossing for the quick and easy texture it adds)
- Cute Card Thursday: #325-So Macho

Look Who's One!
Hey there! Just a quick share today... Sometimes we have friends that we don't get to see as often as we like. In some cases too long passes between visits. Life moves forward and we miss important stuff like the birth of a new baby, a christening, and then before we know it a whole year has gone by! A first birthday is a big deal and I wanted my friend and her little man to know that though miles may separate us, they are right here in my heart!
Nothing says first birthday like the cake smash! And the mess is always worth the memories! I colored Kai is One (Boy) from Mo's Digital Pencil with Copics and cut him out using my Classic Rectangles Nestabilities from Spellbinders. Papers Me & My Big Ideas - Champs. I selected the current sketch from Sketchy Colors (#196) as my layout. Classic Circles Nestabilities were used to cut out the circle elements. I also utilized the Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics from My Favorite Things, which I then embossed with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. Lastly I added an American Crafts Thickers number 1 and an "Eat Cake" chipboard sticker also from Me & My Big Ideas. (I'm currently obsessed with the chalkboard art look!)
It's not the same as being there, but at least there will be some happy mail in our absence. XO
Challenges:
- Bronte and Bella's Challenge Blog (Mo's Digital Pencil): #219-We're Seeing Spots
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E25, E74, E79, YG61, YG67, R32, R35, R37, R39, R89, Y32, Y35, BG10, BG72, N0, N2).

I Baked You A Cake
Well, not really. But I made a card! It's a snowy afternoon here, and I was thinking this might be a good time to catch up on my crafting. I have several projects I need to work on, but first I wanted to share a birthday card that I made for my neighbor's special day last week. She's a chef and loves baking so I chose to work with Chef Marci from La-La-Land Crafts. Marci is colored with Copics and cut out using the Beaded Oval Nestabilities from Spellbinders. I added some flowers and flat back pearls. Papers are My Mind's Eye - Happy Day. The sketch is challenge #192 from Sketchy Colors.
I haven't been spending very much time at my craft desk lately. I'm hoping my mojo kicks back in soon. Like today. I needed a break after the holidays, but now I'm well-rested, have caught up on most of my DVRed TV shows, and even have 2 books read this year already. So while the snow is coming down (they predicted "flurries") and the small man is watching Star Wars and playing with his vast array of toys I'm hoping to get my creative on.
Check back tomorrow for a new Corrosive Challenge!
Markers used: Copics (E00, E11, E21, E23, E33, E79, BG10, BG72, R32, R81, R85, N0, N2, N4, N6, Y23, Y28, YG93).
Challenges:
- Brown Sugar Challenge: #77-Anything Goes
- Sister Act Card Challenge: #40-Anything Goes
- Stampin' for the Weekend: Happy Birthday
- Wags 'n Whiskers: #120-Anything Goes
- 4 Crafty Girlz: #9-Anything Goes
- Crafty Little Fairies: In The Kitchen
- Seize the Birthday: Coloring

Sassy Studio Designs Fabulous Freebie Friday
Good morning and welcome to my Fabulous Freebie Friday post! Love Sassy Studio Designs? Well, head over to our Paper Craft Planet group to grab today's free image! We do this every Friday, and we hold a fortnightly challenge there as well. Today's image is called "Bubble Bath" and our new challenge theme is "Rub-a-dub-dub: Use a Sponge". All you need to do to play along for your chance to win 2 SSD images is use a sponge to add a little ink to your project.
I've used the current sketch from Sketchy Colors (#108). Papers are from a 6x6 pad from My Mind's Eye called Lost & Found - Portobello Road. Flowers are from WOC and Recollections. A bit of pearl adorned lace, a Martha Stewart border punch, Nesties Label die, and a Tim Holtz adage ticket complete the shabby vintage look.
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E04, E23, E25, E27, W8, R20) and Prismacolor Art Markers (198).
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Tickled Pink Stamps Sponsors Do You Stack Up
Today I'm here to tell you about another fabulous Tickled Pink Stamps sponsorship! We're proud to sponsor Do You Stack Up for challenge #59-Layers. This was an easy one for me as I tend to do this on my cards anyway. For my project I've used a sketch from Sketchy Colors (#104) and paired it with papers from the DCWV All About Boys stack. My image is one from the out of this world new Futuristic collection just released by TPS. She is called Lil Futuristic Lolita Christina. The sentiment is also from Tickled Pink Stamps. Flowers and bling are from my stash.
Please head over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to see what my hugely talented design team mates have created for this fun challenge! And if you're so inspired, we hope you'll play along!
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, R02, W4, W6, W8, W10) and Prismacolor Art Markers (15, 17, 192, 25, 27).
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Tickled Pink Challenge #16 - Spring
Good morning! Can you believe we're halfway through the week already? I just wanted to check in with a quick post this morning to show you the card I made for this week's Tickled Pink Stamps challenge. The theme for challenge #16 is Spring. Easy enough! I selected some flowery designer paper plus sweet, shy Lil Pinkette Pippa with her bouquet as my image, and then added some flowers to create my Springtime card. I utilized MOJO188 from this week's Mojo Monday challenge. You had the option of round or square this week, and I opted for square. I'm also entering this in the current Sketchy Colors challenge #68, which is a color challenge to use Blue, Beige, and White. (They are being sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps this month, by the way.) Here is their photo inspiration for the challenge:
I hope everyone has a fabulous day! Spring has finally arrived here, and we're supposed to enjoy a warm (60s and 70s), if potentially wet, stretch of weather this week. Ah, New England! :) Thanks for stopping by and check back as I'll have another post this evening.

Tickled Pink Challenge #13 - Blinging It Up
Today was the last day to enter Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #13 - Blinging It Up. I always seem to wait until the last minute with everything, but I manage to sneak my entry in every week anyway... sometimes with only minutes to spare! This week the challenge was easy! Use bling! I have a huge stash of it, but because I was making a masculine card using Wilfred the Wombat Sad, I decided to make the black gem flourish the focal point of the project and use my image in a subtler context. My layout is courtesy of Sketchy Colors #65, sponsored by Tickled Pink Stamps this week.
I haven't stamped in three days so I am going to keep this post short so I can go focus on some other items on my crafty To Do List... My genuine thanks, as always, for visiting and for any kind comments you see fit to bestow!
