New Baby by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone, it’s JULIE here today and I’m sharing a baby card using a couple of our Dies in the Whimsical range along with a selection of others.

You will notice I started tattering my layers of patterned paper adding onto my card with my Celtic Stacker die in-between.

Next I added my pretty Doily layers and stamped sentiment. My Whimsical Giraffe I glued onto a pale green paper and fussy cut around.

My Whimsical Flower I cut out in pale green paper and layered my patterned flower on top twice which had been shaped on my Embossing mat to add dimension. Finishing with several gems on my card.

Happy Anniversary by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone, it’s JULIE here today and I am sharing some inspiration using one of our Cardmaker Dies. I love the elegance and impact these give to a card especially if you need to make a card quickly.

I started by die cutting my Cardmaker die in Gold Mirri Card and in White Cardstock. I then offset my layers making sure I had an even aperture around the edges. I then layered onto my card with foam strips for added dimension.

Happy Anniversay was stamped and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I added extra touches of detail layering my Tags#2 flourish dies around the edges of my middle layers and adding on some gems.

Hello Friend by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn fans, it’s Julie here today and I am sharing some inspiration on my friendship card using the super vintage Rotary Phone Die.

Using Maja Design papers I started by tattering my base layers and adding on Hello Friend.

My Rotary Phone was cut out in Black cardstock and Gold Glitter card, paper piecing my sections together and adding a large gem into the centre of the dial. I glued in place with some Silicone Glue onto my tattered layer and Doily.

My flowers were all inked in the centres with Archival ink adding Stamens into the centres, placing the arrangement onto my card.

Springtime Birthday by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn fans, its JULIE here today. This last week in Scotland has been very cold and we have had a lot of snow and frost. Thinking of warmer days I decided to create a Birthday card using one of our latest Pop-Up Dies - Celebrate, along with spring coloured cardstock.

I shadowed layered my word Celebrate 3 times to make it pop and incorporate the colours on my card design and flowers.

My flowers were all cut out in white cardstock and shaded in the centres with some ink. Next I shaped the petals on my Embossing mat and added Flowersoft into the centres. The smaller flowers I bunched a few together in places and added single ones too for extra detail and interest.

Let it Snow!

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi there, Maggi here to share a big tag with you.  I've used a lot of Cheery Lynn Designs dies to make this layered large tag from Creative Embellishments (it's 5.5" x 10").  Starting from the bottom, a brown striped oval using Oval Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies , then a blue patterned piece cut with Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frames Die, next another brown piece cut with Royal Scandinavian Boutique Stacker A2 Frame, a blue piece cut with A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped, and finally topped with a cut-apart from the Graphic 45 Seasons collection.  I know, that's a lot of layers and some are barely visible.  Still, all those layers work together to make this beautiful tag.

In the upper right corner I've used two cuts from the Horizon Fishtail Banners 3 Piece Die Set and topped that with a die cut label using the Sentiment Frame #1  set.  Next I layered on a sticker from the Seasons collection and topped all that with handmade flowers.

I made two sizes of roses using the Large Rose 7 Piece Die Set and the Tea Rose Small- 6 Piece Die Set.  The flowers with the pearled stamens were made with Judy's Blooms Die and the other white flowers were made with Floral Bouquet Kit 8 Piece Die Set.  Then to set off my florals perfectly, I used the dainty Branch 2 Piece Die Set .  I really love this branch, the leaves are a perfect size and just so pretty!  I wanted to add lots of sparkle to my flowrs so they have been painted with clear Wink of Stella and then highlighted with Star Dust Stickles.

The Let It Snow - 4 Piece set makes such a great title, I love the font and the pretty stars that come with the die set.  I went over all the letters with Star Dust Stickles for lots of sparkle!  Underneath the title I used two different sized cuts from the Pierced Stacker 3 set.  I also used some cardboard to pop up the top layer to make it really stand out.

Christmas Easel Card by Maggi

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Maggi here today sharing a pretty easel card that will display so prettily! I used several different Cheery Lynn Designs dies to make this card and I can just imagine how lovely it will look sitting on a mantle spreading Christmas cheer.  I used Graphic 45's new Seasons and Winter Wonderland collections for my design papers.
I love dimension so I used lots of layers and popped up two of them.  From the bottom there is a red square, then a holly print layer just peeking out cut with the Pierced Stacker 3.  The next layer is popped up and consists of a square with a Quadrafoil Square Doily adhered to it. Then the final layer, also popped up, is a Seasons cut-apart.
To really make this card pop, I added handmade flowers.  The red roses were made with the Large Rose  and Medium- Rose  die sets.  The pretty cream flower was made with Judy's Blooms Die.

I used the Holly Corner underneath the flowers to add the perfect touch to my floral clusters.

Inside the card, the pretty band and popped up tag serve to hold the easel of the card upright.  There's also plenty of room to write a personal message.

This side view shows you how the easel mechanism works.

Bee Happy Card!

3:30 AM 0 Comments
I made this cheerful card for a friend that is a bee lover, I know she's going to love it! It is an easel card made with Graphic 45's French Country DCE, definitely one of my favorite paper collections! I created some pretty layers using Cheery Lynn's Horizon French Flair Boutique Stacker Frames and the French Flair Pierce And Cut Tool. Then I used the Distressed Honeycomb from the new Cheery Lynn vintage die release. It is the perfect thing for this card!
I used the Pierced Stacker 3 to diecut a small label for my sentiment.  Those adorable bees are laser cut wood veneers from Creative Embellishments.
A strip across the bottom with a fussy cut sunflower that has been popped up with foam, and two bees, serve to hold the easel in place.
I left room on the side to write a note.

Hello by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today hosting the blog and I've created a card around this beautifully detailed 3D Peacock die cut.  My four year old and I had a lot of fun playing with my spritz bottles.  It's difficult to see but the entire peacock shimmers.  We made a number of marbled looking papers with my sprays and I cut the peacock after one dried.

The card base was covered with a black card front, layered with teal, then white and then I cut a blue mat out of the Pierced Stacker #3 die.  I added the hello from the Bohemian Word Set in black for some added contrast.  I just love the big sentiment and the script font.  I find I use it on both formal cards as well as more clean and simple designs.

Before gluing the peacock to the card front I added a green rhinestone for his eye and pushed out his feathers from behind with a stylus tool.  I wanted to show off all the beautiful dimension and detail this die has built into it.

New Window Shaker Card Kit!

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Cheery Lynn Designs has 2 new shaker card kits!  This window shaker that you see here (I think this is so fabulous) and a flower shaker that I'll share with you later on.  The shaker card kits come with 2 dies, foam, acetate and shaker pieces.  Everything you need except your design paper!
I do have a word of advice for you and that is to use a glue that is not so sticky and dries hard and quickly.  I used a sticky glue on this and some of my shakers stuck to the sides even though I allowed what I thought was an adequate drying time.

Underneath the window shaker I have layered Royal Scandinavian Boutique Stacker and 3 different sizes of the A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped  frames.

The sentiment is stamped onto the small Pierced Stacker 3  frame.
The flowers are from the Floral Bouquet Kit 8 Piece Die Set and the leaves are Flourish Leaf Strip 5 Piece Die Set.  I also used the Ivy Corner Flourish Die under the flowers.

Easter Egg Hunt by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I thought I would share some inspiration for an Easter card in a vintage design.

Cheery Lynn have many cute Easter Dies that embellish our crafty designs so well. My sweet little chicks were diecut from a yellow patterned cardstock and I coloured their beaks and feet with Copic Pens and added a touch of Black Liquid Pearls for their eyes.

My rabbit was also cut in patterned paper adding a fluffy cotton tail and some Liquid Pearls also to his eye.

My Stackers were all layered up in different shades of paper adding a little cheesecloth behind my image.

Airbrushed Peace Dove Card with Cheryl Walker

12:30 AM 7 Comments
Hello everyone, and Happy Sunday to all!
Today's card was designed using 7 Cheery Lynn Dies, and I LOVE the way it has turned out. I did some airbrushing on the Gorgeous Peace Dove, Glass Flower Technique on the Sweet William Flowers, and some sewing on this one. But I truly love layering using my Cheery Lynn dies, as they are all beautiful dies and easy for me to work with!
The Peace Dove was cut out using white card stock.  I then airbrushed it with 3 Copic color blues , and then added some liquid glitter to the wings and tail feathers. The eye was done with a viva pearl pen in black.

Next I airbrushed the little sentiment circle(LPC4 circle Die) using green and blue, and the die as a pattern for the top. I just held it in place and airbrushed over it. Super fun and super easy to do!  The die that is behind the circle is the Pierced Stacker #3 XL-21.

B307 Sweet William Strip Flowers- cut out in coordinating design paper, and then the edges of each flower were distressed using ink and a dabbing tool.  I then did my Glass flower technique on them, and that tutorial can be found HERE under my tutorials. Lastly I added some Really Reasonable Ribbon pearls to the centers of each.

DL280 Royal Scandinavian Doily was cut out in white card stock, an then cut up to place behind my 2nd layer on my card. Super fun way to use this doily on a larger square.

DL184 Sophias Heart doily was used cutting out coordinating design paper and placed on top of my layer 2 to give a base for my next layer which is the pierced stacker #3 and the Circle LPC4

Greenery is from the B587 Step Card Bundle Set #4.  These were cut out in white card stock and colored with Copic markers.

Sewing was done in blue thread.

I love how the blues look here, and on the dove. This card may look like it took long to make, but really it didn't! I think the longest part was doing my glass flowers, as you have to heat them and dip them, so that takes a little time, but well worth the results I say :)
Thank you so much for looking and I always love to hear what you think of my card for today! Happy Creating to all!
Hugs,
Cheryl

Step card with a twist with Maggi

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi there Cheery Lynn fans, Maggi here to share a fun easel card with you.  Easel cards make such great display pieces and I decided to add a little twist to this one by giving the easel part a different shape.  I used a Cheery Lynn Designs die, Pierced Stacker 3 6 Piece Die Set , and diecut two pieces and used them to form my easel.  I love how it looks at the bottom propped against the button revealing the interior of the card.

Then I topped the pierced stacker with a French Pastry Doily diecut that served to frame my lovely chipboard piece from Graphic 45's Portrait of a Lady collection.  I added a pretty flower made with a flower diecut from the Bohemian Collection - Indie Bouquet - 6 Die Set .

I used a chipboard button from the Portrait of a Lady collection to create a stop for the easel.  Underneath the button I used paper layers and a pretty trim diecut with the Lady Kate Edger Die .

At the top left I made a little floral cluster with flowers cut again using the Bohemian Collection - Indie Bouquet - 6 Die Set and leaves using the Flourish Leaf Strip 5 Piece Die Set.  I just got this Flourish Leaf Strip die, it's already a favorite as it adds the perfect finishing touch to my floral clusters.

Time to Start Thinking about Valentines!

3:30 AM 3 Comments
What could be prettier than a tag all dressed in roses?  I've layered up Graphic 45's Mon Amour papers to create a gorgeous romantic tag.

I use so many layers that sometimes they're hard to see!  Starting at the bottom is the tag base layer, the one with the tiny pink roses on it.  On top of that I add a black print diecut using Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frames Die.  Next is a pink print layer just peeking out around the corners cut with  the A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped 7 Piece Die Set .  On top of that is a floral layer cut with Pierced Stacker 3 6 Piece Die Set - XL21, topped with an oval cut using the Mirror Mirror Doily Frame 3 Piece Die Set.

Then I added that pretty sentiment tag.  I ruffled that up and put a double layer of foam tape on the back to pop it up in the center and curled opposing corner edges.  Next I made two sizes of roses using the Large Rose 7 Piece Die Set  and the  Medium- Rose 7 Piece Die Set.  I embellished those with pretty flourishes using the Flourish #11 Die  and leaves from the Floral Bouquet Kit 8 Piece Die Set.  Top it off with a pretty tied bow and you've got a sweet romantic tag to put with a nice gift of chocolate or champagne.  Whatever your sweetie loves!
