Just Like Brothers

I've been very fortunate to live next to someone I call one of my closest friends for the last seven years. Amazingly she had her son only 4 months before Mason was born so they've been life long friends. They play like brothers, they fight like brothers and they love like brothers. I did this layout to celebrate this unique relationship!

Lazy Sunday Layout

I love lazy Sundays; sleeping in and enjoying my coffee with my feet up with some of my favourite
songs playing. Today was definitely one of those lazy Sundays. Mason is at his dad's house this weekend and I'm sick so my plan today was to have no plans and just be lazy. Read when I want to, nap when I want to, shower when I want to, etc.

Having lazy Sunday meant I got to get a little scrappy time in so I finished off a layout I started a couple weeks ago from Mason's birthday and his favourite visitor, his Miss Stephie.

Welcome to the Sketch Support Blog Hop! If you've just started at my blog, make sure to go back to Sketch Support and start there to find out how you can win!

I'm also giving away two Sketch Support Sketch books to two lucky people today so make sure to leave a comment on this post and I will pick two winners on Monday.

For today's Blog Hop we've all created something based on this sketch! Have fun checking out everyone's different results by stopping at everyone's blogs today.

Part of our Blog Hop today is a "Get to Know You" for the Sketch Support team so here are my answers:

How long have you been scrapbooking?

I've been scrapbooking since 2003. I had just gotten married and wanted somewhere special for my wedding pictures when a friend turned me on to scrapbooking.

Why did you start scrapbooking?

I had just gotten married and wanted somewhere special for my wedding pictures when a friend turned me on to scrapbooking.

What is your favorite time of day to scrapbook?

My favourite time to scrapbook is anytime, LOL, but I usually don't get time until after my son goes to bed.

How often do you scrapbook?

I try to scrapbook a little bit every day but the truth is probably only a couple times a week.

Where do you scrapbook/what does your space look like?

I have a room in my basement that is a scrap room/office/storage room. I'd show it to you but it's a disaster!

When I'm not scrapbooking you can find me...

I'm always on the floor playing with my son. I think when he was born I became a big kid again myself.

What is your favorite thing about using sketches?

I love sketches because they can jump start creativity. Sometimes you just don't have that mojo flowing and you just need a little inspiration to get you going. It also allows you to think outside of the box.

What is your favorite sketch from Sketch Support?

Sketch Support Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my friend Shannon today. She is turning 29 today (really she's turning 32 but she's telling everyone 29, shhhhhh!).

I made this card for April's card sketch at Sketch Support. When I first saw it, I was thinking "how the heck am I going to make this card" because it's so out of the box for me but in true Allison Davis style, she takes me out of my comfort zone and into something new I love!

Here's the original sketch which you can download from Sketch Support along with all the other great sketches:

Just Like Dad

It's not often I get an opportunity to have my picture taken with my Dad so when I do, I jump right on it. My sister took this photo of Dad & I at Christmas and I love how it turned out. I ended up printing it out in a 5x7 so it could take center stage on a layout. When I saw this month's single page sketch, I went straight for this photo. I love how the strips look; it allows you to use many different patterns without overwhelming your page. Please stop by the Sketch Support site to download this and other great sketches.

Sketch Support Add-On Flags

Happy Friday! I'm so behind on my blogging and I have no excuse. I had 9 days off work but the weather here has been amazing so I've been busy outside with my little guy enjoying the sunshine. This week on Sketch Support, the following flag add-on is being featured by the design team.

I created this layout using the flags and it was so much fun, I think I'll definitely do this again!

Here's a little close up of my flag embellishments!

There are so many creative takes on this week's sketch so be sure to stop by Sketch Support for all the inspiration!

Elmo Love

I'm not sure where this sudden love of Elmo came because he doesn't really watch Elmo on tv but it seems Mason has found a new best friend. In total, he has around 5 Elmos now. The one in the pictures is a Hokey Pokey Elmo but at Christmas, Grandma gave him an Elmo that he carries with him everywhere. He's never been one to have an attachment to any item but suddenly he can't sleep without this new Elmo. I think it's adorable the way he hugs him, kisses him and talks to him. It only seemed fitting to make sure a page about this new found love made it into his scrapbook.

Sketch Support Add-On Sketch

So how cute is this snowman?!?!?! I love him! He is January's add on sketch at Sketch Support. It seems intimidating to make your own embellishment but it was really so easy! Check out Sketch Support for the other designer's creations with this little guy!

Christmas Morning

Oh Jillibean...how I love thee! It seems every time I create a page with Jillibean Soup, I end up loving it. I just adore their paper lines....keep doing what you do Jill!

I still haven't scrapped my Christmas photos from last year but couldn't wait to scrap some photos from this year with these papers and since there are no rules when it comes to scrapbooking....tada! Other than the die cut "Christmas" in my title, all products are Jillibean.

All Smiles with Bella Blvd

I can't believe how quickly December is going. I shouldn't be all that surprised since it seems to go that way every year. It's so hard to believe my little baby is going to be 2 on the 18th of this month.

Feeling a little reminiscent, I created this layout of my little guy when he was 9 months old. He was always so smiley and would make others around him smile. Now he does that with his goofy antics!

I love using these ticket stamps and dies from Papertrey. Just by switching the ink and stamps up, you have a different embellishment every time.

Here I mixed Doodlebug and Jillibean Soup letters to make a fun title on a custom title banner.

Best Buddies

I've been so busy with Christmas related projects (cards and gifts) that I haven't had much to post lately. I did create this layout a week ago and I'm so happy with how it turned out. Mason and his best friend Liem love hanging out and sharing a plate of food together. These pictures are from way back in May and they make me miss my little guy's mohawk so much! Should I cut it like that again? I'm trying to let it grow out a bit for him but dang...I love that mohawk!

Oh and keep checking in because I have some exciting news to share....I just can't share it yet!
