JJ Birthday Book

As it is a Monday, it's Anything But a Card Day at Bugaboo's blog, Catch The Bug! Today is my turn and I have used my Papertrey page die along with a whole bunch of JJ images from Bugaboo to create a Birthday Book/Diary.

Jodie has created a few sets called Calendar Months for a range of her characters. This means that you can easily have an image to suit every month of the year. I created a template for the pages in Microsoft Publisher and then inserted a JJ image onto each. Here's January:

And February:

And as it's October:

As it was intended as a birthday book, I used Baking JJ on the cover as I think she looks like she is struggling to bake a birthday cake. Finished off with a few jump rings and ribbon and viola!

I am entering this card into the One Stop Craft No Designer Paper challenge and Craft Catz's Birthday challenge. Stampin Sisters have a Time theme too so the calendar element fits in with that. My Time To Craft want Dies, well each page has been cut with one. The ric rac is also a Papertrey die cut.

JJ Christmas

I was due to post this card on Tuesday but I didn't get a chance to as I was feeling so groggy after an operation on Monday. Am still not feeling the best but had to share this with you. You may have seen it over at Bugaboo anyhow.

Now JJ is one of my fave characters and have used her a lot and I am really liking the NEW Christmas JJ set! Have you seen her wrapped up in a ribbon? In a martini glass? NO! Then why not? Head on over to the shop now to see.

Halloween Treats

There's plenty of fantastic Bugaboo Treats to be had this week as the theme over at the challenge blog, CATCH THE BUG is
ANYTHING BUT A CARD - TRICK OR TREAT!

I wanted to make a treat holder for a grown up so went to the JJ Calendar Months collection and went for the October image.

The box is made using a Sizzix XL die. Then I went to town with some Papertrey ink products (the gingham stamp and ric rac die) for the decorations. The ink and green cardstock is Stampin' Up's Garden Green.

I think I may have overdone the pics and taken from any angle I could lol!

Finally filled it with some Hershey Nuggets. I have just had some Avery labels from the US so I can't wait to start using them to cover the nuggets so that the chocolates can match the projects.

Hope you like the box. If you feel inspired, why not join us for this weeks challenge and potentially win some prizes? Head on over to Catch The Bug for all the details. If you need to make some quick treat holders or just want to try something simple, then check out the tutorials I have in my sidebar for some ideas of ones I made last year.

I'm also entering this project into the following challenges:
Cuddly Buddly ~ Check It Out (used Gingham)    Forever Night ~ Trick or Treat
Fussy and Fancy ~ Halloween     Inspire Me Friday ~ Anything Goes
Just Add Ink ~ Die Cut (ric rac is PTI die)     Craft Lounge ~ Trick or Treat
Crafty Ribbons ~ Halloween     Limited Runs ~ Halloween
Pixie Dust ~ Anything But a Card     Stamp Insanity ~ Anything But a Card

Tee-Pee Tutorial

I've shared a few Tee-pee cards before and have often been asked for more details. So I have decided to show a tutorial on how I go about it for my tutorial Wednesday as part of the Bugaboo team over at Catch The Bug.

So, you will need:
3 pieces of cardstock (5 and a half inches by 5 and a half, black in this pic)
3 pieces of cardstock (5 inches by 5 inches, the orange pieces)
3 pieces of designer paper (4 and a half by four and a half)
Double sided tape
Score board or ruler and scoring tool

Fold the 3 largest pieces in half diagonally

Cut both of the smaller pieces of card in half diagonally.
Take one of the pieces and cut it into quarters as shown.

Attach to the base pieces as shown.

Turn the base pieces over. Nestle one of the squares into another as shown above. Score a light line for reference to show where it ends.

Attach tape as shown making sure you do not cross over the score line.

Repeat the process with the third piece until you have the above shape.

When you turn it over, it should look like this.

Cut the designer paper in half diagonally.

Attach to the card base.

Attach a small piece of velcro as shown above.

And close the card. It should look like this! Now all you need to do is decorate it as you wish. In the pic I shared at the start, I stamped a PTI sentiment and attached a JJ image which I cut with nestabilities.

Hope you find the tutorial interesting. Hopefully it is interesting enough to maybe make you have a go at creating one. Thanks for looking and let me know if you have a go at it as I love to see how others interpret it.
