Cards in Envy Jingle All the Way

Time for a new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog.  We're looking for Christmas or December Holiday cards with one or more bells on them.

CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy challenge blog. Christmas Bells Spellbinders

I ordered a Card Kit from Spellbinders and got some cardstock, cute paper, colored diecuts, ribbon and some very nice dies.  I used my spellbinders bell dies for the bells.

Come check out what the rest of the design team came up with and then post your Christmas/Holiday cards with bells on them to the Cards in Envy blog.

Cards in Envy "It's Only Paper"

The new challenge on the Cards in Envy it titled "It's only paper."  That means we want cards with NO stamping, NO embellishment and NO ribbon unless made from from paper.  I'm still working on Christmas cards so I opted for die cuts to meet the challenge.
CraftyColonel Donna Nuce for Cards in Envy challenge blog. Christmas Card, Spellbinders and Memory Box dies.
I cut the spellbinders dove from a gold foil and then added three white cardstock cuts behind it to help it pop off the page. I did the same for the Memory Box Peace and Joy die cut.
Come check out what the other design team members did over on the Cards in Envy blog.  Then link up your "paper only" cards with us.

Card in Envy White on White

The new challenge on the Cards in Envy blog is for White on White cards.  Cards should have a white background and white elements NO other color (but black or colored stamped sentiments are OK).  I decided it was time to get cracking on Christmas Cards.

I used StampinUp Whisper White against StampinUp Shimmer White paper.  Come check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with.  Then link up your White on White creation on the Cards in Envy blog.

House of Cards October Classic & Elegant

It is time for another challenge over at the House of Cards Challenge blog.  This week it is the Classic & Elegant team's turn to post.  This month Mynn our challenge host is sharing a tutorial and asking us to make cards using a die or punch.  Here's my card for the challenge.

This is a CASE of a Sue Wilson card.  I loved her idea of the black Embossing Powder on Black paper.  Here's a closeup of it.

A little hard to see but truly elegant!  The banner is Lawn Fawn and the sentiment is Inspired by Stamping.   Die cuts are Spellbinders and Stampin'Up.

Come join us at the House of Cards Challenge Blog and use your dies or punches!

Here is our "Anything Goes" inspiration photo for the challenge.
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e325/pballrsgirl/white%20christmas/bhg7.jpg

Here is my card.

I used the Inspired by Stamping December 25th Labels.  I heat embossed first with silver EP for the bottom layer and then Clear EP over White Craft ink to get the chalkboard effect.  I smudged some chalk over the black cardstock for a more realistic chalkboard effect.  SB Labels 22 and Decorative Labels 22 were used to cut the stamp out.  The background DP is Silver Distressed Paint over a Distressed Ink background and then embossed with a CB embossing folder.  Ribbon is two layers Stampin'Up Organza ribbon and Island Indigo ruffled ribbon.

Please join in the fun of our hop and make your way over to my neighbor John's blog!

Here's the list of all the blog hop participants:

Birthday Card for Hubby

When I saw this cute Headband Bunny over at Hambo Stamps I knew this would make a perfect card for my now "gray" hubby on his 60th birthday!

When I found the gray swirly DP in my digital files I knew they would make a perfect background for the Headband Bunny.  I had to cut him out digitally to mount him on the background using my Storybook Creator 4.0 software.  I used my Spellbinders Matting Basics A & B to cut him out and mount him on the DP and also for the flag.  I used my new Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder on the platinum shimmer cardstock and topped the flag with a black and silver Candi.

An update on Storybook Creator tells us that the Panstoria Company (original creators of SBC software) will take over product support for Storybook Creator and Memory Manager from Creative Memories.  This gave me a big sigh of relief because I love Storybook Creator and Memory Manager software.

House of Cards Classic and Elegant August Challenge

This is the week at House of Cards Challenge Blog for Classic & Elegant Cards and my week to post as part of that Design Team!  This month it is a sketch challenge all month.

My Classic & Elegant Card for the Challenge

I made this card while I was camping out at my Brother and SIL's place.  The background on it has been changed three times!  I didn't like what I did the first time.  The second time we were working in my SIL's craft room late at night and the lighting wasn't so good.  I thought I had mounted the bee and senitment on cream Cardstock.  Instead it was white.  My SIL and I got a good laugh about it!  When I got home I took it apart one more time and mounted them on cream cardstock.  I think I need to buy my SIL an OTT light for her birthday to put in her craft room.  (Pati don't read this part!)

Products used:
Close to My Heart Bumble Bee Quick Card
Close to My Heart Buzz & Bumble Scrapbooking Workshop (retired) for Wonderful Stamp, DSP, cardstock and bling.
Ribbon from my SIL's stash
Spellbinders Parisien Accents Dies
Tim Holtz Distressed ink "Gathered Twigs"

OWH Midweek Throwdown "Time"

Two posts in one day!  Scroll down to see my card for the Inkspriational blog challenge.   Had to get caught up on some of my challenges.  The Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home is "time".

What you can't see in the picture is that DSP is a lavender shimmer paper.  It came out of an old 2004 "Club Scrap" kit that I purchased just because I wanted the stamps.  The paper is gorgeous so it won't go to waste.  The clock and sentiments are "Hands of Time" by Papetry Ink.  There is a larger clock face and matching die in the set also.  The diecute behind the clock is Spellbinders.

This card takes care of three different challenges for the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Blog.  The Our Daily Bread Design April Challenge is for things that fly.  For every twenty-five cards linked, Our Daily Bread will pay for shipping one box to our heroes overseas.  Only four more cards needed to get to 50 (three more if you count this one).  The second challenge is OWH Sketch #169.  The third challenge is the OWH Midweek throwdown A Bug's Life.   My card:

The stamp and papers are from the Close to My Heart Buzz and Bumble scrapbooking kits. I used spellbinders Labels 22, Martha Stewart border punch and hand cut the hexagons.

March ODBD Challenge at OWH Stars and Stamps

Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) is sponsoring a challenge to pay for mailing of two boxes of cards for Operation Write Home on their Stars and Stamps Blog.  The challenge involved a tic-tac-toe matrix that three items in a row had to be used.  I picked the first column requiring Brads, Digi Stamp, and a Die cut.  Here's what I came up with.
The intricate die cut at the bottom is a Spellbinder's Shapabilities.  The scalloped circle is from the Cricut Wild Card cartridge, The Bee is from the Cricut Home Decor cartridge.  The Digi Stamp is my own design using the Beans font and the Chancery Cursive Font.  Spellbinders Shapabilities were used to cut out the labels.  The brads are from Oriental Trading Company and the gems are from Creative Charms.
