Moab Half Marathon

Jeff did his first Moab half marathon today. He said it was an amazing experience and so beautiful to run through the red rock canyons. This is now one of his favorite runs and I think it may become a tradition for him (if he draws out!) He drove down by himself and slept in the car with his mattress and bag! A bunch of other guys from Provo fire were going down also. He ran the race and drove home. Crazy if you ask me, but he is a machine! He finished the race in 1 hour and 46 minutes. Very good time and especially for the first run of the year. Way to go Jeff - you are amazing!

Jeff and his Battalion Chief and great friend, Jeremy Craft!

This was me making Jeff model the hat and shirt he got from the race!
Talk about bright!

State FFA Convention

Brayden got to go to Cedar City for the State FFA Convention and receive an award available to Seniors who have completed the requirements to receive the state recognition award. He was pretty excited about this as we all are! He is so in to the FFA (as we all know!) and he just excels at everything in it. He is such a ham and has so many great friends in the FFA. What a fun bunch of kids they are. His Advisor in the FFA is Mrs. Giffing. She is an amazing person. Brayden really looks up to her and has such respect for her. He will be lost without her! I just can't say enough about her and what she does for each of the kids.

Here is Brayden and John (his best friend)!

This was the luncheon we got to go to before the awards ceremony.

My parents came and supported Brayden since Jeff had to work!

Here are all the Seniors that received the State recognition and Mrs. Giffing (in the red)!

I know the picture is blurry, but this was the only one I got of him and so I am using it! Of course, all the other pictures I took of the other kids turned out just fine - go figure!!

On our way home Saturday, we hit a horrible storm. I am sure you heard about it on
the news. The freeway was closed for a while. We almost ended up in a wreck ourselves. It was a pretty scary storm. We pulled off in Beaver and stayed for the
night. By eight that night, all hotels in Beaver were full and they were putting people in the local Church. Crazy!

More wrecks and bad weather on our way home Sunday.
