Wishing You A Beautiful Day

Hello friends, Julie here from Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers and I'm super excited to be here! I discovered Creative Inspirations Paint last Spring and instantly loved them for their shimmer.  I can't tell you how excited I am to now be on the design team for these wonderful products!  Let the fun begin!!
Even though it's October, I'm still seeing butterflies.  They were the inspiration behind today's project.  I wanted to make something with fall colors, but using butterflies.
I made a fun card to share today, and used Creative Inspirations Paint on the embellishments:

I cut this easel card out on my Silhouette.
Here's a close up of the embellishments:

The flower looked similar to this one before I painted it:

I painted the crocheted flower with fuchsia, Turquoise, and Sage Creative Inspirations Paint.  The button was white when I started, but I coated it with Mocha Latte Creative Inspirations Paint. I love how it brought out the texture in the button!

I'll leave you with another angle of the easel card, so you can see how the wings of the butterfly appear to be flying.

A Laugh is a Smile - A Mixed Media Canvas

Hello CI Paint friends! Today I have a canvas I made using lots of CI Paints and some Jeweled Inspirations

I've had a recent obsession with making canvases that have flowers on them. I had these hexagon mistable pieces from a kit which I colored using Fuchsia, Lavender and Rose Quartz paints. The centers were painted with Autumn Wheat and Buttercup.

I made the stems from book tape which I painted on with Evergreen and Green Olive, and then tore into strips. The leaves are made from joint tape cut into leaf shapes.

Fine Black Deliquesce, a Versamark ink pad and a cutout with the sentiment on it was used for the words. And of course I had to add the butterflies since I love them so much. They are painted in Garnet and have Clear Jeweled Inspirations in the centers.

Other textures such as stamps, acrylic paints, more joint tape, modeling paste, a stencil  and a sketch pen were used around the canvas as well. With mixed media pieces you can't go wrong with texture. The more the better. I've found you can use various items found in your house for texture, such as tape, bubble wrap, tin foil, fabric, cups, the bottom of shoes, and more. The key is to have fun and get messy!

Below are the CI Paint products used on my canvas...

Don't forget about the Inspired By Challenge that Diana is hosting. We are on week 2 of the Ribbon and Bling week! Check it out HERE!

Have a great day!

Today is a Gift

TGIF! Dana here today sharing a card I made using the gorgeous 5x7 Great Moments Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations All Occasions collection. I first used the embossing folder with patterned paper to create the tree. I then used the folder again as a mold with the soon-to-be-released Creative Inspirations product to make the pretty pink flowers.

I painted the flowers with Creative Inspirations Paint in Fuchsia.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Pretty in Fuchsia

Hi CIP followers!  I finally worked on a new page in my art journal.  I've used a Julie Nutting image to stamp up, clear emboss, and color with some pretty CI paints.  The shimmery CI paints that I've used are Fuchsia, Tickled Pink, Mocha Latte, Carmel, and Onyx.  I've also used the clear Deliquesce over black ink.  Each of these items can be found in the Creative Inspirations Paint store.

Card using Gelli Plate and CI Paints

Hi and Happy Friday everyone! It's Emily here, and today I have a colorful card I made using some wonderful Creative Inspirations Paints and embossing powders along with my Gelli Plate.

I was curious if the CI Paints would work differently on the Gelli Plate than typical acrylics, but guess what? They don't! They work just as well as basic acrylic paints! And with the CI Paints you get the added shimmer bonus!

Here is how my card turned out...

The sentiment was stenciled on with modeling paste and then I sealed it with Deliquesce Clear embossing powder. Deliquesce Fine Black embossing powder was used around the letters to make them pop. The whole card has this shimmer... in person it is awesome!

You can see some of the shimmer below....
This was definitely one of my favorite cards to make. I used Fuchsia and Denium CI Paints for the dots and chevron patterns. The yellow is a heavy body acrylic. I was originally afraid I would get a greenish color with the Denium over the yellow acrylic, but it didn't happen. That is one of the great things about the Creative Inspirations Paint. Since they are transparent, they will still retain their color when painted over another lighter color of paper or acrylic. And you can see the Denium dots through the Fuchsia in their original color as well. It's best to make sure that each layer is dry before adding another with the CI Paints in this kind of process. This is what I found was best. :)

Colors used in "High Five!" Card:

Thanks for joining me today! I will see you tomorrow with another card I made using a technique shared on an older tutorial post..... it's definitely a post you can't miss!

Sweeet Birthday Flourishes

Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday to all!
I created my card for Creative Inspiration Paints, using the Beautiful Paints, and a little glitter!

I cant wait for all the flowers to BLOOM! I love flowers, and I love Summer!!!! On this CottageCutz Flourish Layered Flower
I used the beautiful CIP's
Fuchsia
Tickled Pink
Tutu Pink
Those were used on the flower layers
For the Greenery
Evergreen
Green Olive

On the scalloped circle I used CIP's Deliquesce Gold Crystal

I started with the darkest pink, and worked my way out. Then I used some distressed inks on the edges of the flower layers.

For the greenery I used the lightest green, then painted over some with the darker green, then dabbed some off. I absolutely Love the look you get with these beautiful shimmery paints!!!  Hope you can see by clicking on my photo's to enlarge them!!

I used some leftover Pink Gingham print Dp and then layered it with CottageCutz Scalloped Doily. I did add sewing,Really Reasonable Ribbon, Pearl, and a button to complete my card.

Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!!
hugs to all

Inspired By Spring Colors: Fuchsia

Hi CIP fans!  Dana here today sharing a layout that was inspired by the Spring Color theme this week. My family visited Disney for the first time last fall. My girls and I really enjoyed getting some Henna tattoos! We all chose to add colored glitter to our designs before they dried and I wanted to bring that pop of color onto my page.

I added Fuchsia paint to the background of my layout with one of my favorite stencils.

I created this embossed piece with a henna patterned embossing folder. I highlighted the design with ink and a coat of Deliquesce Clear Embossing Powder. I randomly brushed on Fuchsia paint, and before that dried, sprinkled on some Resplendence Angel Dust Glitter.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope I have inspired you to use CI products on your layouts!

Love Lives Here

Making projects to display in my home is one of the joys of creating for me. I love taking something and making it pretty to hang in our home. It makes it feel like home by having it there. I'm sure many of you feel this way when you see one of your pieces on your wall or someone else's. It's definitely satisfying. I recently found some shaped wood pieces I had purchased online, but never completed decorating. One was in the shape of a heart and thought it would look really cute for a door hanging... covered of course in Creative Inspirations Paint!

Here is what the finished project looks like...

Before doing anything, I primed the entire heart, front and back using white Gesso. Next, I painted the front using CI Paint in Sunshine and Buttercup. I used some drywall joint tape as a stencil to make the dots in Fuchsia CI Paint. Using Versamark and a flourish Unity Stamp along with some Deliquesce in Fine black, I added the black flourishes over the top of the dotted background. The three colors just popped! I wanted a sentiment, so using some white cardstock painted with more Buttercup paint, I once again embossed the sentiment and house stamp with more Fine Black embossing powder. Fuchsia, Mango and Evergreen were used to color in the heart, sun and tree on the sentiment. I adhered it using Zapdots for dimension. To finish off the piece, I painted the edges, sides and back of the heart with Onyx paint and attached the flower and twine. It is now hanging on our side entry door. I love how it looks when walking up to the door. :)

I've added these close up shots so you can see how bold and bright the colors are... it was a bit cloudy outside, so it's a little harder to see the shimmer. It is very shimmery though!

And here are the colors/products used:

Thank you for stopping by! I'll see you soon!
