Thank you Cami!

Do you hear that? That is right, nothing. That is the sound of a sleeping baby. I am grateful to Cami (our sister-in-law) for letting us borrow their baby swing. It has been SUCH a relief to have somewhere to put Ashley and have her stay asleep! Andrew has a hard time staying away from it, especially if Ashley is asleep in there. He will go over and yell, I THINK SHE IS WAKING UP! Then of course, she is awake.

Our little performer!

Here is a taste of Andrew's singing!

Grandpa Wesley!

Grandpa Wesley got into town today from Alaska. He is here this weekend for Ashley's blessing. She was just perfectly comfortable sitting in his lap!

Andrew was playing some game he made up where he pokes Grandpa in the face. He had fun playing with him from the minute he walked in the house. Andrew and Grandpa did Grandpa's version of piggies (this little pig went to market...on both feet and hands) and read books. I am glad Andrew wasn't shy!

Hanging around

Andrew likes to get really close to the camera these days.

The first smile I have been able to get of her while she is wide awake. Once again, isn't she so cute!

Andrew being silly sucking his fingers.

Ashley's poor face. Her baby acne is so irritated, all over her face, ears, neck and shoulders just in time for her blessing!

My kind of burrito

I thought I would swaddle her with her arms in to see what she would do. She hasn't changed, he hated it after a few seconds.

Isn't she the cutest.

Seven WHOLE Hours!

That is right, Ashley slept seven hours last night, which means I got seven hours of uninterrupted sleep! I should have taken a picture of the horrible bed head I had this morning as proof of my good nights sleep! I just thought you all should know. We can only cross our fingers and hope it will happen again, but that is probably wishful thinking!

Soldier Hollow

Andrew and Derick went to a singles ward activity with Derick's parents (he is the Bishop) up at Soldier Hollow by Midway. I wanted to go to be able to see Andrew have fun sledding, but I wasn't about to try that with Ashley! Derick said they had a ton of fun, Andrew fell asleep on the ride home which rarely happens! I told Derick before they left to be sure that Andrew keeps his rubs (what Andrew calls gloves) on because he always wants to take them off. You will notice from the pictures that didn't happen. Derick said he wanted to make snowballs like some other kids were doing and he couldn't do that with the gloves on. Not a good enough excuse for me, but whatever, he still has his fingers!

Gassy Girl

Ashley had the worst stomach ache or something today. She was spitting up everywhere and had TONS of bubbles and gas. We were trying every position possible to get her content! I thought this position was the one...

...then she started up crying again...so I tried resting her on my arm. That obviously didn't work...

...but this position did! She was kind of just molded in a blob on my lap and arm, but it worked and she was happy!

Andrew was in need of some attention since I had been spending my whole day trying to keep Ashley happy. Derick took him out in all the fresh snow we had. The had fun walking around in the back yard and playing. Andrew wanted some of his summer toys that got left out there but they were iced over and we couldn't get them free. That made Andrew mad, so they came in. It was fun while it lasted I guess.

Silly Boy

Lining up yet another thing to play with. This was his track he made and he was bouncing like Tigger he said.

Making sugar cookies for Valentines Day.

Do you like Andrew's mound of sparkles (that is what he calls sprinkles) That was how he was decorating the cookies. When he would be pouring them on, he would have his own cookie in his other hand taking bites at the same time. He was in heaven!

We were trying to get him to smile. He wouldn't do it so we told him to show his teeth. That is why we both look silly, we are showing you our teeth!

"I am like a circle shining brightly. Shining for the whole world to see." He was singing that song with his sandwich I had cut out. Yes, that is his peanut butter sandwich as a circle and banana pieces as stars. The things I have to do to get him to eat!

Silly Girl

Big yawn...

Funny smile...

Falling asleep while smiling...

Leave me alone, I like it like this!

My Cutie-pies!

I just think that Andrew and Ashley are the cutest things alive! Andrew still sucks those 2 fingers for comfort. He usually will snuggle me when he is doing it. Ashley loves to have her hands in her face. She tries so hard to get her thumb in her mouth, but gets frustrated and usually just ends up crying.

Cups and Stuff

I wanted to do something fun with Andrew, he was in need of some one and one attention, so I thought we would make some cookies. The key to it was that I didn't tell him we were making cookies. Confused? He helped me make the dough, adding ingredients to the mixer and watching it all mix together. When it was time to add chocolate chips, I got out some bowls, measuring cups and spoons for him to play with. Then I dumped a cup or so of flour (what he calls stuff) for him to play with. He was in heaven! I could take the dough and finish it, bake the cookies and get them all put away while he was entertained doing this! It was so nice! He didn't even know what I had made which was wonderful!!

I asked him why he was putting his tummy in the flour, he said he wanted his shirt to be white and that he didn't like the blue. I guess that worked, kind of. We had a little bit of a mess to clean up as you can tell, but I just gave him a bunch of wet towels to wipe it up then some dry ones. He did it all by himself!

Ashley's Photoshoot

Amy came over with the kids when Ashley was 5 days old to visit. She was sleeping most the time so we didn't think we would be able to do pictures. As Amy was about to walk out the door to leave, we decided what the heck, lets just lay her in her crib and throw a headband on her. And that is what we did! Amy just leaned over the crib railing and took a TON of cute pictures. Ashely was loving it, or she really didn't know what was going on or care, but that was the great thing! This is one of my favorites! She has always been so bright eyed and attentive when she is awake.

I love this one A LOT! In her ultrasound pictures she always had her hands in her face like that! I had an ultrasound right at the end of being pregnant and was so excited to see what she looked like! They do the ultrasound and her hands are in her face the whole time! I couldn't see her face at all!

I like this one of her holding my fingers. I love her hands so much! They have so many wrinkles! She has got a tight grip, that is for sure. If she isn't holding on to your hand with a death grip, she has a white knuckled fist! I think her nails look like mine!

I LOVE HER FEET! I love mostly that crease in her big toes! I hope she keeps that forever! She does not like having her feet trapped. If they get caught in her sleepers in between the snaps, she freaks out! When we started putting sleepers on her, she would end up with both legs in one leg of them and get so mad! I love her toe nails too, they are so cute!
This is just to show you all the conditions under which Amy makes us work. Just kidding! I wanted the feet and hands pictures and this was the only way we could make it work. Gramea and I were SO warm from holding that thick fabric, having the sun shining in and holding Ashley. It was fun though!

Hanging out at the hospital

We were excited to be able to show Aunt Emily and Grandpa Wesley back in Alaska the new baby. Derick's laptop has a camera in it so we logged onto to messenger and talked! Ashley pretty much just slept there, but that is what newborns do. We thought that they would like seeing the real thing better than a picture. I was glad we could do this for them.

Here is Great Grandma (Randy's mom), Grandma (Derick's mom), me and Ashley. I am so glad to be able to have pictures with all the generations.

Amy made a bunch of cute bows for Ashley. This one is HUGE! We thought it was funny and kept thinking she looked like she needed an umbrella and to be in a cocktail drink or something. I have had fun trying different bows on her lately, but she doesn't like me changing her clothes so I haven't played dress up yet. Sad
