Do you hear that? That is right, nothing. That is the sound of a sleeping baby. I am grateful to Cami (our sister-in-law) for letting us borrow their baby swing. It has been SUCH a relief to have somewhere to put Ashley and have her stay asleep! Andrew has a hard time staying away from it, especially if Ashley is asleep in there. He will go over and yell, I THINK SHE IS WAKING UP! Then of course, she is awake.

Grandpa Wesley!
Hanging around
The first smile I have been able to get of her while she is wide awake. Once again, isn't she so cute!
Andrew being silly sucking his fingers.

Seven WHOLE Hours!
That is right, Ashley slept seven hours last night, which means I got seven hours of uninterrupted sleep! I should have taken a picture of the horrible bed head I had this morning as proof of my good nights sleep! I just thought you all should know. We can only cross our fingers and hope it will happen again, but that is probably wishful thinking!

Gassy Girl
Ashley had the worst stomach ache or something today. She was spitting up everywhere and had TONS of bubbles and gas. We were trying every position possible to get her content! I thought this position was the one...
...then she started up crying again...so I tried resting her on my arm. That obviously didn't work...
...but this position did! She was kind of just molded in a blob on my lap and arm, but it worked and she was happy!
Andrew was in need of some attention since I had been spending my whole day trying to keep Ashley happy. Derick took him out in all the fresh snow we had. The had fun walking around in the back yard and playing. Andrew wanted some of his summer toys that got left out there but they were iced over and we couldn't get them free. That made Andrew mad, so they came in. It was fun while it lasted I guess.
Silly Boy
Making sugar cookies for Valentines Day.
Do you like Andrew's mound of sparkles (that is what he calls sprinkles) That was how he was decorating the cookies. When he would be pouring them on, he would have his own cookie in his other hand taking bites at the same time. He was in heaven!
We were trying to get him to smile. He wouldn't do it so we told him to show his teeth. That is why we both look silly, we are showing you our teeth!
"I am like a circle shining brightly. Shining for the whole world to see." He was singing that song with his sandwich I had cut out. Yes, that is his peanut butter sandwich as a circle and banana pieces as stars. The things I have to do to get him to eat!

Cups and Stuff
I wanted to do something fun with Andrew, he was in need of some one and one attention, so I thought we would make some cookies. The key to it was that I didn't tell him we were making cookies. Confused? He helped me make the dough, adding ingredients to the mixer and watching it all mix together. When it was time to add chocolate chips, I got out some bowls, measuring cups and spoons for him to play with. Then I dumped a cup or so of flour (what he calls stuff) for him to play with. He was in heaven! I could take the dough and finish it, bake the cookies and get them all put away while he was entertained doing this! It was so nice! He didn't even know what I had made which was wonderful!!
I asked him why he was putting his tummy in the flour, he said he wanted his shirt to be white and that he didn't like the blue. I guess that worked, kind of. We had a little bit of a mess to clean up as you can tell, but I just gave him a bunch of wet towels to wipe it up then some dry ones. He did it all by himself!

Ashley's Photoshoot
Amy came over with the kids when Ashley was 5 days old to visit. She was sleeping most the time so we didn't think we would be able to do pictures. As Amy was about to walk out the door to leave, we decided what the heck, lets just lay her in her crib and throw a headband on her. And that is what we did! Amy just leaned over the crib railing and took a TON of cute pictures. Ashely was loving it, or she really didn't know what was going on or care, but that was the great thing! This is one of my favorites! She has always been so bright eyed and attentive when she is awake.
I love this one A LOT! In her ultrasound pictures she always had her hands in her face like that! I had an ultrasound right at the end of being pregnant and was so excited to see what she looked like! They do the ultrasound and her hands are in her face the whole time! I couldn't see her face at all!

Hanging out at the hospital
We were excited to be able to show Aunt Emily and Grandpa Wesley back in Alaska the new baby. Derick's laptop has a camera in it so we logged onto to messenger and talked! Ashley pretty much just slept there, but that is what newborns do. We thought that they would like seeing the real thing better than a picture. I was glad we could do this for them.
