Our Bubble | Bramble Fox

I made this page for Bramble Fox using the gorgeous translucent bubble Perspextives from the September Fox Box. These pics of my friends kids in the bath were the perfect pictures! And then when I was telling my friend about the page I was making and trying to figure out a title, she told me that she always says, "I just want to keep my kids in a bubble."

I love all Bramble Fox Perspextives, but my favorite ones are the translucent ones.

I started with a Vicki Boutin mixed media paper and stamped the bubbles. The cut file is a free one from Paper Issues called Bubbles. I dug through my paper scraps and backed the bubbles with different patterns, many of which are pretty old. I stitched the big central bubble with embroidery floss. I also dug through my blue embellishment drawer and found these old photo corners and some old sparkly and pearly brads as well as some old K&Co word stickers.

I backed the bubble Perspextive piece with white paper because I wanted it to stand out.

I was delighted to find this blue OMG chipboard circle which just made me laugh when I put it on this photo! To finish off my layout, I added some blue Nuvo drops to some of the bubbles.

I highly recommend the Fox Box subscription. You get three packs of Perspextives, which gives you a nice assortment of pieces to work with, as well as an exclusive design only available in the Fox Box. Plus you get a discount on everything in the shop. Here's a look at the September Fox Box:

Christmas Joy | Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday

It's my turn on the Paper Issues blog today. Here's my post:

It's Sunday, and you know what that means! We have an awesome layout for you to scraplift, and here's what I made:

I was thrilled to be chosen to lift Mary-Ann's amazing page:

No photo description available.

I was enamored with that circle and even though I have that paper, I scrap 8 x 8, and I wasn't sure it would work. Plus I had the idea of creating a Christmas ornament, and the brown wouldn't go with the Pebbles Merry Little Christmas collection I wanted to use. So I looked online and found a geneaology fan chart that I could download for free and printed it on white cardstock. I had to fiddle with it to get it right, adding circles over the image so I could cut them with my scissors easily.

I pretty much replicated Mary-Ann's layout because it was just perfect the way she made it. The beautiful script "Christmas" in the title is from the Paper Issues Free Cut File called Pines & Needles.

I loved Mary-Ann's tags and the loopy twine. Being a scrapper for almost 20 years means I have lots of stash, and I dug through my stash looking for tags that would match the colors and adorned them with stickers from the Merry Little Christmas collection.

I added a gold rectangle, some foliage, and some old ribbon from my stash to the top to make the circle look like an ornament.

I hope you'll come join this or one of the many other challenges at Paper Issues. Post your creation in our Facebook group, and you may win a gift card to the shop! Love You {Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday Challenge}

Scraplift Sunday is one of my favorite challenges over at Paper Issues because I get to try out another scrapper's style and integrate it with my own. Here's a recent page I made for one of my students:

Here's Olivia's gorgeous layout that I lifted:

Image may contain: 2 people, people smiling

Here are some details. I used Photoplay's old Like a Girl collection. This collection has such a lovely color palette. The flowers are from an Amy Tangerine collection, and I think they go well with the Like a Girl line. Dang it!That little lantern brad turned. I hate when that happens!

If the pictures look funny, it's because this student didn't give me permission to post her picture online, so I just photoshopped another student's face who had given me permission. I was delighted to find that brad with the Roman Numeral 4, since I teach fourth grade. In retrospect, I wish I had placed it somewhere else because it looks like I meant it to be part of the title. I always realize these things after I've photographed them. Sigh.

I love this detail of a torn bit of paper on the edge, folded over. I've seen it a lot and always think, "I want to do that on my page," and then I forget, so I was so happy that Olivia included that detail on her page. I always love to lift up the butterflies' wings.

I hope you'll come play along. There are new layouts to scraplift every Sunday, and you have the whole month to play, so we have 5 layouts this month to scraplift, every one of them awesome! Post your scraplift in the Paper Issues Friends & Fans Facebook group, and you might win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues store! Please my discount code, Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off your entire purchase! How awesome is that?

4th Grade Adventure {CSI Case File No. 281 + Paper Issues Free File Free-for-All Challenge}

We've got a new challenge live over at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration, and I combined it with Paper Issues Free File Free-for-All challenge to create another page for one of my students:

Isn't that globe the best? It's a free cut file from Paper Issues called "It's a beautiful World."

Here's the Case File. CSI is teaming up with Tell Us Story sketch challenge this month, so we've got an awesome sketch to work with. The circle in the sketch is why I chose the globe. I went a little off the sketch, so I created a second layout that more closely follows the sketch, which I'll share in another blog post.

And here are the clues. From the Evidence, I used plain white background (the bottom layer), woodgrain, cameras, stamps, plane, bird, globe, labels, pie charts (sort of--it inspired my choice of those black and white circles, which I cut out of a patterned paper), filmstrips, typewriter letters, sunburst. From the Testimony, I used the inspiration word "adventure." I also used the colors, substituting the gray for black.

Here are some details. The yellow sunburst paper is an old Studio Calico paper. That black map print backing the globe cut file is really old Collage Press--remember that brand?

The plane is a sticker from an Echo Park travel collection, and I cut those clouds out of an old Love, Elsie fabric paper. I love combining old stuff with my newer stash.

The cameras are fussy cut from a Dear Lizzy Saturday paper, and I popped some brads in the center for dimension. The flair badges on my page are from A Flair for Buttons. The circles were cut from an Amy Tangerine Sketchbook paper.

That chipboard "Adventure" is from Crate Paper's Poolside collection. And of course the little wood veneer bird is a Tweet from Studio Calico. I have a lifetime supply of them, LOL!

I hope you'll come play with us at both CSI and Paper Issues. Go check out all the awesome free cut files so you can play in the Free File Free-for-All challenge. Post your creation in the facebook group for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store. Please use my code, Debbi (no e on the end), and you'll get 20% off your entire order at the Paper Issues store.

And if you play at CSI, you could win a prize from one of our seven awesome sponsors:

Christmas Angel {Paper Issues Let's Get Fussy! Challenge}

Yesterday was my turn on the Paper Issues blog. Here's my post

Hello, Paper Issues Friends. Today it's time to get fussy! Grab your scissors and let's see what you got! I still have lots of Christmas pictures to scrap, so I decided to adorn one of Paper Issues' free cut file Christmas Trees by fussy cutting flowers from last year's Sweater Weather collection by American Crafts.

I used the beautiful Under the Tree free cut file and the word "Christmas" from the Pines and Needles free cut file.

The flowers, foliage, bird, and frame were all fussy cut from patterned papers.

Instead of packages, I added a little village of houses and trees fussy cut from another patterned paper in the collection.

I hope you'll play along with this challenge or one of the many other fun challenges at Paper Issues. Post your creation in the Facebook Group by February 3 for a chance to win one of two gift cards to the Paper Issues store. Please use my code Debbi (no e on the end) for a 20% discount on your entire purchase at the Paper Issues store!

Cherish {Paper Issues Scraplift Sunday Challenge}

I'm up on the Paper Issues blog today. Here's my post:

Happy Sunday, Paper Issues Friends!

I say this every time because it's true: I love Scraplift Sunday challenges because they get me to try out different styles. I tend to shy away from mixed media because I'm a Nervous Nellie, and I hate messing up. I loved Olivia's layout, and even though I didn't do as much mixed media as she did, I love how my page turned out.

Here's Olivia's amazing layout I lifted:

Image may contain: 1 person

PinkFresh Studio's Indigo Hills 2 collection made it easy for me to achieve a mixed media look.

One of my favorite details on Olivia's layout was how she lined up all those stickers and tags to the right of the page.

My title came from the Paper Issues Cherish Florals free cut file.

You'll definitely want to get in on the fun for a chance to win one of two gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. Just add your creation to the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook page. You have until November 4.

Bask {Paper Issues Free File Free-for-All Challenge}

Paper Issues has the best free cut files, so it's always fun to play in their Free File Free-for-All challenge. I used the Sunny Day cut file to make this page:

Here are some details. Most of the stuff on my page is from Paige Evans' Turn the Page collection. I adhered the cut file to yellow paper and then cut around the outside to make the sun. I mounted it on cloud paper to give it some lift.

Most everything on the page is lifted with pop dots.

I love these old vinyl Poolside Thickers. The color went perfectly with this collection.

You'll definitely want to get in on the fun for a chance to win one of two gift certificate to the Paper Issues store. Just add your creation to the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook page. You have until November 4.
