Collect Memories (and Berries) | Bramble Fox

I've been so busy with the start of school that I'm behind with sharing my layouts on my blog. Here's a layout I made for Bramble Fox last month.

I thought the "Collect Memories" Perspextive was just perfect for this picture of my friend's kids on their way to pick blueberries. I added a heart Perspextive because I always add hearts to the pages I give away.

I found the bucket cut file at the Silhouette store. I thought Simple Stories Farmhouse had the perfect vibe I was going for. I filled the bucket with fussy cut flowers and some die-cut leaves. I stuck a sweet little translucent red heart in there with the flowers. The clouds are Bramble Fox pieces too.

After choosing my papers and elements, but before adhering them, I decided I'd do some mixed media. I used texture paste and a stencil and then added some watercolors after that dried. Then I assembled my page. At the end, I added navy blue enamel dots to symbolize the blueberries they were collecting. The sun is also a Bramble Fox Perspextive.

You Are a Rainbow {Bramble Fox DT work}

Yesterday was my turn on the Bramble Fox blog. I made another page for one of my students using the gorgeous new Rainbow Perspextive, which  is in the April Fox Box, but can also be purchased on its own.

Here are some details. How awesome is that Bramble Fox rainbow? I love its frosty translucence.

I started my page by backing a cut file with patterned paper scraps in all the colors of the rainbow. I lightly traced the clouds onto my white cardstock and labeled the colors inside the traced cloud so I'd know where to paint the watercolors to match the clouds.

I then adhered the clouds and searched through my puffy stickers and word stickers for embellishments in all the rainbow colors.

I highly recommend the Fox Box, which gives you a wonderful assortment of pieces. Bramble Fox is a UK company, but their shipping is very reasonable to the U.S. If you want to win some Perspextives, we have a Stash Smash challenge that you can check out.

You Mean the World to Me {Bramble Fox}

I made another page to give to one of my students. I used the awesome brand-new Bramble Fox globe Perspextives. These will be in the store very soon, so keep checking back!

Here are some details. How awesome is that globe? I love that the Perspextives aren't huge like many scrapbook embellishments, as I scrap 8 x 8. That EK Success metal airplane has been in my stash forever.

I also used some of the petite Fancy Hearts Perspextives on my page. Those clouds were cut out of an old My Little Shoebox paper. I've got a metal geotag from that same EK Success pack and  an old Crate Paper frame.

That awesome red plane is from a really old Crate Paper collection called Toy Box. The chipboard "This Makes Me Happy" is by MAMBI. The globe cut file is from the Silhouette store.

Bramble Fox embellishments are so fun to play with and are so unique! I'm so happy to have the opportunity to design with them. As a design team member, I don't have to pay for the shipping, but for my U.S. friends, I checked, and the shipping is very reasonable, especially if you get the Fox Box subscription, which gives you a nice assortment of goodies each month.

I Am an Early Birdy {Paper Issues Ad-spiration Challenge}

Today I'm up on the Paper Issues blog. Here's my post:

Good morning, Paper Issues fans! Are you ready to be ad-spired? I'm sharing a fun challenge to make a layout inspired by this ad:

Image may contain: text

The clock featured in this ad made me think of the fact that I get up at 5:00 seven days a week, even when I'm on vacation. The title "Early Bird" came to me, so I went to my stash looking for birds as well as a paper collection that featured red, since that's the first thing that caught my attention in this ad. The Fancy Pants Dream Big collection has both red in some of the papers and birds, so that's what I went with. The store still has a few elements from this beautiful collection, including the "Call It a Plan" patterned paper, which is the star-sprinkled paper I used as my base.

I mostly used sheets from the Dream Big 6 x 6 pad and some bits and pieces from the ephemera pack. The alarm clock is from a free cut file called "Back to School."

The Simple Stories gold title and hearts are a nod to the metal in the ad's clock. I adhered most everything with adhesive foam to give my layout some extra dimension. I couldn't find a proper spot to add my journaling, so I put it on back with a note about that along the bottom to echo the text in the the bottom of the ad. My journaling basically talks about how I went from a night owl to an early bird, why I love getting up early, and how I spend my morning time.

I hope you'll give this fun challenge a try. I'd love to see how the ad inspires you! You have until July 1 to play. Make sure you share your creation in the Paper Issues Friends & Fans Facebook album for a chance to win a gift certificate to the Paper Issues shop.

And take a peek at all the awesome stuff in the store. Be sure to use my code, Debbi, to get 20% off your entire order!

Love You {Paper Issues Scraplift Challenge}

This is a page I made for one of my students last week.

I made this for a Paper Issues scraplift challenge. Here's the layout we had to scraplift:

Image may contain: 3 people, people smiling

Here are some details. I made the cut file by welding some letters together. I backed the letters with papers from Crate Paper's Main Squeeze collection. The chipboard hearts are also from that collection. I found some cute little cat puffy stickers in my collection that matched the colors on my layout.

I needed a little something else besides the chipboard hearts, so I cut some flowers from a paper from Crate Paper's Carousel collection and of course added some enamel dots and another little kitty puffy sticker.

The Love title is from a Thickers set and the YOU sticker came from the Main Squeeze sticker sheet. I added some Heidi Swapp color shine in pink, aqua, and black.

You Add Sunshine to Our Class (CSI Case File No. 251)

I made a second page for our current challenge at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration:

Here's the Case File. I used traditional clues (which are listed at the bottom of the reveal). I used the colors from The Scheme. and the following evidence clues: solid background, textured paper, clouds, llama, cacti, something fuzzy, rainbow, zig-zag stitching, tiny brads, flower, phrase stamp, decorative border.

Another source of inspiration came from a Paper Issues challenge in March, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, where we were asked to use shamrocks, green, the word lucky, or rainbows. I obviously chose a rainbow as my focal point.

Image may contain: text

Here are some details. I started with a solid white background, which was one of the clues, and then chose papers from my scrap drawer that matched the colors in the Case File.

The rainbow cut file came from Paper Issues. Some of the clouds were cut from patterned paper and a few were cut on my Silhouette Cameo. I found some really old textured paper to back the clouds in the rainbow cut file. Those pink letters are old Heidi Swapp plastic letters, and the word "sunshine" came from a sheet of Maggie Holmes stickers.

I cut those cacti out of a patterned paper by Recollections. That llama sticker came from a Photoplay sticker sheet (For the Love of Summer). I love that he's wearing sunglasses--perfect for my title. I popped a little enamel heart on his back. In order to use the tiny brads, I dug into my super-duper old Prima tiny paper flowers--remember those? And I found some fuzzy flower brads to meet the fuzzy clue from the Evidence list.

My blue scalloped border is an old Doodlebug frills border. Remember those? Man, I  used some oldies on this page.

I decided to sew some zig-zags onto my clouds to meet that particular clue, and at the ended added the phrase stamp onto a cloud to meet another clue.

So grab some of those trendy llamas in your stash and come play with us! We've got a huge number of sponsors this month--seventeen--the most prizes yet, I believe!

You Mean the World to Me {Paper Issues Frame It Up Challenge}

I'm on a roll with my scrapping this week! I made another page for one of my students:

I played again at Paper Issues in their Frame it Up challenge, where they asked us to use frames from our stash.

Image may contain: text

Here are some details.

This black chipboard frame was in m stash. I don't know who it's from, but I used it as a layer behind my photo.

I actually started my layout with this die cut. I was organizing my die cuts by color the other day and I couldn't decide what color to file this in, so I decided I'd make a layout with it so I wouldn't have to worry about where to store it! From there, I decided I'd use the Hazelwood collection by One Canoe Two. I don't have that many papers in that collection--just the floral and the the butterflies, so I used those and found a coordinating color to back the cut file with--that one's an old My Mind's Eye paper.

The cut file is from the Silhouette store. I adhered it to the background with adhesive foam and used multiple pop dots to lift up the butterfly wings.

Happy Birthday {Paper Issues This or That Challenge}

I just realized I never shared this layout that I made in February for Paper Issue's This or That challenge.

Image may contain: text

So,  the challenge is to pick one of the two choices for each of the items numbered 1-10: I'll bold the items I used:

1. Thickers or Alpha Stickers
2. Cut File or Punched Shapes
3. Enamel Dots or Sequins
4. Hand Journaling or Type-Writer Journaling
5. Wood Veneer or Acrylic Embellishment
6. Frames or Tags
7. Thread/Twine or Ribbon
8. Nuvo Drops or Mist
9. A Clip or Flair Button
10. Washi or Stickers

Here's the page I made. I'm making a book for my pastor. She has the cutest dogs ever, and they're just irresistible for me to scrap. She doesn't know I'm making this book--I'm snagging the pictures off of her Facebook page.

Here are some details. Is this not the cutest dog EVER? I started out my layout with the Simple Stories Let's Party chipboard pieces, and from there I just started choosing papers and other elements to match the colors and wound up using a lot of my old stash, which I just love!

The cut file, called Bubbles, is from Paper Issues. So fun, and I thought it sort of echoed the balloons.

Those letter stickers are ancient--Doodlebug's Just My Type. The Chipboard frame is by Making Memories, also super old.

The fun chipboard balloons were perfect for adding the wood-veneer stars.
