A SNEAK PEEK...

...of our wedding photographs by the ridiculously-talented Margaret Jacobsen. These are the only ones I have seen so far and I truly cannot wait to see the rest of them. Saturday was such an incredible day... I just want to relive it over and over again. I hope to share all the details in the weeks to come.

TEN IMAGES OF INSPIRATION : GETTIN' MARRIED.

Our wedding is one week away, so here is one last collection of images of other folks' happy days for inspiration. I am so very, very excited.

I HEART APPY COUPLE!

Ever since becoming engaged back in March, Appy Couple has been my favorite discovery. Not only can you make a totally stylish wedding website, but they also include something so modern and fun: your own wedding app that all of your guests can download for free onto their smart phones. Cool, right?

Appy Couple is also so right on spot with organization and getting involved with your guests and wedding party. It stores R.S.V.P's, photographs, information on all events leading up to the ceremony, detailed background on how you met and who is a part of your big day... as well as giving a spot for friends and family to leave notes and sign a virtual guestbook.

One more thing: as a major design and color nerd, I have fallen madly in love with how many gorgeous and playful designs there are to choose from. Many of them come with outfit and color inspiration that match (see above), and you can choose styles based on your favorite hues or themes.

Thanks, Appy Couple for helping with the stressful wedding planning process! You guys are awesome.

A VERY FINE ENGAGEMENT.

My fiancé Christopher and I did not plan on getting engagement photos done. Spending what could be our wedding money on them didn't seem like the best thing to do, plus we both agreed that they weren't really necessary. But then a couple months after our proposal, our dear friend Vanessa Morrow asked if she could shoot some for us just for fun and we couldn't say no to the opportunity. Since our wedding is going to be county fair-themed, we all agreed it would be sweet to take the photos at a place surrounded by cotton candy, carnival rides, prize-winning games, and plenty of color: Oaks Park, one of the oldest amusement parks in the country. We had such a lovely day with her and are so happy with how the pictures turned out. I think they totally capture the way we are with each other.

See more photos after the jump, including a favorite Polaroid.

COLLECTIONS : SOMETHING OLD.

The "something old" part of a wedding is the easiest for me. I tend to surround myself with pretty and silly vintage objects and clothing, which will carry on into the big day. It all comes down to the fact that I love things that have have some sort of a story/history. Any other vintage junkies out there?

1. French La POSTE 1971 Cast iron Mainbox ($390), 2. 2 Gold Tone Enamel Costume Jewelry Pins / Colorful Beauties ($14), 3. vintage large red wooden letter N ($32), 4. TEN IMAGES OF {P}INSPIRATION : BARN WEDDINGS.

No surprise here: we're getting married in a barn, a big beautiful one about a half hour from Portland. Since I've immersed myself in wedding planning, I just can't stop digging through Pinterest for images to inspire me. All the gorgeous barn celebration photographs make me positively giddy.

TEN IMAGES OF INSPIRATION : WILL YOU MARRY ME? (AND AN ANNOUNCEMENT)

Good afternoon! I've been holding off on sharing the news for a few weeks, but I thought I'd finally let the cat out of the bag: I'm engaged! A few weeks ago before a Morrissey concert inside a photobooth at the Ace Hotel, my boyfriend got down on one knee and popped the question (which I said yes to!) We're getting married March of next year and I plan to share all the fun details for the next eleven months. I'm excited!

EVE IN EDEN.

Good evening! I hope you had a glorious weekend. If you live in Portland, I want to share a brand new spot in town: Eve in Eden, a bridal shop now open in the back of Eden, one of my favorite boutiques in town. The new shop features non-traditional bridal goods: dresses, jewelry, headpieces, and bags, both vintage and designed by local artists. Also, how pretty are these photographs from the lookbook, shot by Eric Rose? (Eve in Eden in located at 221 NW 11th Ave., Portland, OR)
