Another Grey Hare or Hair?

Man this week I feel like I have gotten more grey hair! But my card today is more about a grey Hare :0)

Today's Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge is "HOW OLD?" For our Challenge this week we would like to see you create a card with the persons age on it. Now for my card... I just couldn't decide who to make this card for and what age to use - so I kind of cheated a bit. My card I hand wrote in after the sentiment.. Enjoy 29 Again!

My image and sentiment are both from Whipper Snapper Designs. I just love this one, it is so perfect for so many of my friends and family with some fun humor. Colored with my Copics, I then doodled the edges of the image and then used stickles for the bubbles. Funny how boring and plan it is with out the stickles to me..

My Card I started with a white card stock base, matted with a scrap of yellow card stock. The pattern paper is the very fun Sassafrass Lass, love that the papers all have that scallop to the bottom of them. I ran a piece of red ribbon across it, matted the image with yellow inked the edges of everything. A scrap dot paper from MM is what I stamped the sentiment on and hand wrote the last part in. I punched two medium EK Success Retro Flowers, and three mini flowers. Use jewelry spacers and mini brads, then high lighted with white gel pen.

I hope you got a chuckle out of my card this morning - make sure to pop over to Spoon Full of Sugar and take a look at the wonderful cards from all the DT members fun cards! And then join in, cuz this week there is a great prize again!

Me... not much today - I hurt my back Sunday a bit, and didn't take it easy yesterday. So today I think I am going to not push it. Hope your Tuesday is going great!

Time is flying by -

Merry Christmas! No I am not crazy. Well not about that, but the challenge this week at Cute Card Thursday Blog is to make a Christmas card, to help get a head start on making your Christmas cards. Well I make cards that all have each of my babies on the front, which gets tougher each year with more and more donkeys! But I did think I would make a 3x3 gift card to attach to a present. I love to use non-traditional colors, and the light blue snow flake paper by DCWV was my starting point. I then remembered the snow globe stamp that I purchased on sale last year, really cute set. Has the snow globe empty and then 7 or 8 items that you can put inside. I just love the snow bunny with the red hat on. I colored the image with my Copics, cut it out and then added Pearl paint for the snow, and stickles for the glitter snow floating. I think I went a little heavy on that, will cut that down next one. I doodled the edges, and that was it. Really quick and easy and I think I will go ahead and make a few more to have ready.

This next thing I am going to show you was a special request. A friend asked me to make this for her. Now this is a really cool idea for a Baby Shower. Every guest is asked to "decorate" a index card and use a favorite Bible verse. They will all be gathered and placed into a box that is altered and make a special gift for the Mommy. Really sweet idea huh! I used DCWV Nana's Baby Boy Nursery paper on a coordinating blue card stock. I printed the Bible verse, that she picked out, on Vellum along with the name of the person who is giving it (I blurred this out) I zig zig stitched this all together. I then stamped a Whipper Snapper Designs Sheep image and cut them out. I colored them with Copics and highlighted with white gel pen. I used pop dots to stick them down to give a bit of shadow. I used three Prima flowers in baby blue and white with brads for centers. I then stickled the sheep just for some fun. I really am happy with how it turned out. To be honest I haven't done much for other people to give. So I was a little nervous about it. Hubby will give it to her today while he is in town, so I am looking forward getting a call to see what she says.
I really can't believe it is already Friday, this week has just flown by and I don't feel like I have accomplished a single thing I had planned for this week. I hope your week was more productive and you have some great fun plans for the weekend. Me... I will be trying to catch up from the week!

I dare you not to smile after reading this card...

Ok, now common tell me you didn't chuckle when you read this card! I think it is hysterical. Hubby just rolls his eyes! This card was made with the sketch from this weeks Ismaki Challenge Blog, a sketch by Claudia. Great sketch Claudia, you can see more of her work on her blog Pretty Pressings!

The stamps used are from Whipper Snapper Designs, they really do make some wonderful stamps with some great artist! The "Hare" image is colored in with my Copic Markers, highlighted with Sakura Glaze pens and then the bubbles layered with Diamond Glaze to give the wet appearance. I tried to photo this up close so you can see it, really shines in real life! The base is Bazzill, and the pattern paper is Fancy Pants Sweet Pea. I love two sided pattern papers, they are usually the same shades of colors and work so well together with out cutting into multiple sheets of papers. I matted each block with a lemon yellow green scrap, then scraps from the base card stock. I doodled the edges of everything. It seemed to need something else on my card so I found these shell buttons in my box, I tied the same color of green embroidery thread thru them and then glue dotted them down. The metal dots near the sentiment are Colorbox metal adhesive dots. I do hope that this card made you smile.

Now I also have to point out my new Watermark.... Sara, the brilliant person that did my blog, made my watermark too! And if you don't recognize it, that is Raffie - my smiling donkey! I love it, but I do love my Raffie.....

Have a great Tuesday!

A little Lilac, Lime and a Hee Haw Card!

Two of my favorite colors! Purple and Green, ok I also love the color combo pink and brown. But I also really love purple and green, and that is the challenge for Papertake Weekly this week. Actually it is lilac and lime, but hey that is just names of shades right? Well I decided first off that I really wanted to pull out an older stamp. Something that I haven't used in a while and don't go to right off. I found this Stampin Up Friends stamp. I don't know the real name of it as I purchased it mounted at a sale. I think it is a wonderful, sweet image. I colored it in with my Copics and highlighted with white gel pen and stickles for the rain. I matted it with pop dots on top of DCWV Embossed Nanna's Kids, and then again on a scrap of lime green card stock. The base of the card is a light lilac purple Bazzill, I
used a piece of Diane's Daughters Lime Rickey pattern paper. I wanted it to have a large ribbon, but all I had in may stash was this light weight thin green, I attached a piece of light purple dot on top of it, but it still upset me that when I attached it that it seems so flimsy... (note to self, get some Fancy ribbons! 1000+ ribbon and nothing like I wanted) I added a piece of dark purple card stock that I cut with a spellbinders buckle die, and then embellished with two light green gems. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. Stitched the edge with my white gel pen.

My second card is just fun! I made it with the Ismaki Sketch, a fun sketch, and knew I needed a birthday card for my step-father. Ok, so I had to pull out a donkey stamp... just for some added fun. I used a white card stock for the base, I layered a piece of grey with a bright red pattern paper, sorry I don't know the maker, it came out of my scraps. I put the card on its point for something a little different, don't know if it works, but that is what I did =) The Donkey is from Whipper Snapper Designs. I collect donkey stamps, purchase everyone I find. This one just really makes me laugh so it is perfect for this card. He is colored with my Copics, and then layered on the same gray card stock. I hand wrote the "Hee Haw", then dotted the edges for a doodle like look. I used some new adhesive metal dots I got at JoAnn's last week, they are pretty neat, might have to get more of them. On the inside I wrote "that is how we say Happy Birthday" I was going to put some kind of donkey pun, but then just went for simple.

It's already Wednesday!

Can you believe it is already Wednesday??? Wow this week is flying by! I did get two challenges done last night during the baseball game. Oh something you may not know about me - I am a huge Yankee Baseball Fan! Never been there, have seen them here in Texas. I look forward to the season starting all winter, Love my Yankees.. he he especially Derek Jeter!

Ok I know your here to see the cards - The first one is for Ismaki #16. Great sketch this week, it was the "suggestion" to use 4 different pattern papers! That one was tough. I still don't know if it worked or not, but I was stressing so much about it that just had to finish it and let go. My 4 pattern papers are all from the Basic Grey Pheobe line. I layered them onto a pink piece of Bazzil. Yes there are 4 the birds, the flowers, the stripes and Tilda is sitting on a piece of "linen" looking green. I colored her with my Copics in the same green and pink as the paper. She is glued down at her feet and the pop dotted at her head. Scrap piece of pink ribbon, Adorn It glitter flowers and the sentiments are Deja View Wonderful Word Stickers. I stickled her wings and highlighted with white gel pen. I just don't know, it may all just be too much. What do you think?

Next is this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge, I also needed a birthday card for a friend this week... hope she isn't peeking here an will see it early! I knew I wanted to use my new Whipper Snapper Designs Donkey stamp. Is he the cutest or what!! I just love him! I colored him with my Copics then cut him out. I used a piece of Heidi Grace Shimmering Flocked Birthday Paper, man was it hard to cut this I love it so much! But this is a special birthday card! I hope you can see the shimmer and the flocking.. to bad you can't feel it! Anyway I used this paper as the focal paper, on a piece of forest green Bazzil. Layered with white card stock and a piece of DCWV Nana's Kids Embossed Green and White dot. I cut my circle with my extra large Fiskars squeeze punch. Stamped Happy Birthday with one of those $1 stamps from Studio G. I had a scrap velour green ribbon that just went perfect with the flocked paper... oh I wish you could feel this paper... sad when rubbing paper makes me happy huh! I stitched everything down with my Sakura Glaze Pens. I love this one. Is it the paper? Is it the donkey? Just love it! Hope you like it too!
Well off to go out and check on Rosie again. She was doing better this morning. Up and outside and actually came to me in the pen! Not bouncing around like normal yet, but improving and that makes me happy.
Have a great Wednesday!
