More SALs..

I am busy joining more SALs ...

Here is my progress on Paulette's Mary Sampler II.

Stitched on 28ct Navy Blue Meran using DMC threads. This  SAL is coming to an end with the ninth part coming out next Sunday. I have to stitch fast to catch up ha ha!

Next is the HAL Vert D'eau hosted by Christine. Here is Christine's verison, gorgeous isn't it?

I chose to stitch this design on lilac 28ct Meran.

Sorry, the picture doesn't show the true color of the fabric, it is actually a beautiful soft lilac color. If you visit Christine's blog, you can see the gorgeous pouches finished by some of the participants. Sigh...I am behind again!

Work on Sara's SAL Sorpresa 3 is slow but steady. We are already at part 8 of this SAL and the winter scenery is coming along so beautifully.

More evergreens added..

A chair lift. I had a hard time laying the cable ha ha! It still looks wobbly?

I am also working steadily on Dorothy. The flowers band is huge but the flowers are so gorgeous.

Closer view of the flowers, beautiful aren't they? I enjoy stitching these flowers!

I am so happy to be able to show my first Teddy Bear made with the help of my friend Sonia. Thank you, Sonia.

More bears made by Sonia!

My friend is here from Japan. She brought me cookies and books on Reticello, Whiteworks and Stumpworks. Hope to show some projects from these books in my next post. Thank you, Joyce.

I will leave you with a picture of my unconventional Birthday Cake!

Thank you, friends for visiting my blog and taking the time to leave lovely comments!

Hugs,
Ellen

HAL Baby

HAL Baby hosted by Mamen has just completed. I am working on the final stage of blanket stitches and lots of eyelets! Here are some pictures of Part 5.

Please visit Mamen's blog to see her gorgeous works. Here is a picture of the final product of this HAL from Mamen. Gorgeous, isn't it? Too pretty for a baby bib?

I have some finishes to show, scissors cases, scissors fobs, strawberries....

Strawberries for summer! My craft group meets every Tuesday and we have been making lots of strawberries ha ha!  Another project - pincushion cum scissors holder!

This one is a gift from my friend, thank you Sonia!

More scissors case and fob!

This fob is done from a tutorial by Casaerba.

Another fob from Judy's Challenge! Notice the color scheme! I seem to be doing everything in these shades just now ha ha!

Finally, an update on Dorothy! I am working on the bargello band, very enjoyable to stitch!

Love this bargello band! Notice the over 1 verse... it's progressing ha ha!

Thank you for your visits and comments, they are greatly appreciated!

Happy Summer Vacations!

Ellen

Owls and .....

As promised in my last post, here is the family of owls. They are knitted by me and my daughter using

various yarns and threads and different needles sizes. I taught my daughter how to knit and she is now happily knitting more owls here. More will be joining the family ha ha!

I took up Judy's Message In a Bottle Challenge. She had a piece of semi finished hardanger work. She throws the challenge into the Internet Ocean, challenging anyone who is willing to finish the design for the centre of the hardanger piece. I filled the centre with Lacy Daisy and picots. You can visit her blog to see her gorgeous whitework embroidery.

Next on to updates on my SALs. I had finished Part 3 of Mamen's HAL Baby, love how the design is progressing!

Now, I am working on Part 4 which involves cutting and fillers, will show picture soon!

My progress on Sara's SAL Sorpresa 3, still working on Part 3. There are lots of trees to be stitched ha ha!

Don't you love that cute snowman?

Another house was completed! It is actually a Cafe where you can get a cup of Hot Chocolate to warm you up in this winter season.

BTW, that big red rose is made by my DD. For Mother's Day ha ha! Another picture of the rose, one of my favorite flowers!

Last but not least, an update on Dorothy! I had finished the band of eyelets, hurray!

A Closer look at the eyelets! I am really for the next challenging band - the bargello!

That it for June! Thank you for your visits and comments and a warm welcome to all new followers!

Happy Stitching!

Ellen

A May Post

I have been working on Dorothy, lots of eyelets ha ah!

Closer look at the eyelets, more to go...

The over 1 verse is progressing very slowly, one word at a time! But I am getting there...soon...

Part two of Sara's SAL Sorpresa 3 arrived and here is my progress. I just finished stitching two trees, a St Bernard and some of the borders. Will be building another house soon!

I am also working on another project by Sara - Summer. More works on Summer since my last post!

Closer look at the houses!

I really love Sara's designs, enjoy building houses and planting the flowery border!

Another HAL for me! Yes , I join Mamen's HAL Baby. We are currently at part two of this project.

Stitched on 32ct unknown fabric from my stash using DMC perle 482. I using a dash of light yellow for the cable stitches. Sorry, can't see the color clearly in the picture.

More scissors fobs, small projects that I love in between my big ones ha ah!

The pulled thread fob is actually part of the designs offered by Kathrin in 2012 for a 15 sided biscornu SAL. She had another SAL in 2011, please visit her blog to see her beautiful designs!

The other side of the fobs!

Another small scissors case found on Violet's blog! This is the project for her Learning Hardanger SAL, I love it! Will be making more for friends ha ha!

Currently, I am knitting owls for keychains/scissors fobs! My craft group meets every Tuesday and we are crazy about owls at the moment...patched owls, knitted owls...  I will show pictures in my next update.

Thank you for your visits and comments, they are greatly appreciated!

Happy Stitching!

Ellen

Dorothy Is Back....

but progress is slow. I am stressed over the over 1 stitches. The crosses on 40ct are very tiny and I am not happy with them! I jump over and start the next band, the eyelets - lots of them ha ha!

Can you see, only a few over 1 words?

I am happy that all the satin stitch alphabets are done, they are a joy to stitch!

The other reason for Dorothy's slow progress is because I got distracted by other projects along the way ha ha!

I am at the final stage in my hardanger SAL. This last part consists of dove's eyes and buttonhole bars. They are all round the doily, between the row of klosters and the buttonholed edge. With multiple projects on going, it may take me a while to complete these!

A closer look at the little white flower, the edelweiss. Isn't it pretty?

My ornament for the month is done. I chose LHN Peppermint Twist, stitched on 32ct Amber Linen using DMC and overdyed threads.

Isn't this bag beautiful? It's a gift from my friend, Kristine. She even made a small pouch to go with the bag. I love them, thank you very much Kris!

Next update, I will show works done on Summer. Thank you for visiting my blog. All your comments are greatly appreciated!

Happy Easter!

Hugs,
Ellen
