Another SAL?

Oops, I missed a post in September!

I join another SAL hosted by Nathalie - the SAL La Pensee Positive. Found a piece of white linen band in my stash wide enough to stitch this beautiful design. Here is my progress, we are at Part two of the SAL.

The band is 6 inches wide and I am using DMC instead of Nina's threads. This will be finished as a bellpull.  Please visit Nathalie's blog to see this beautiful design, she has the SAL in several languages.

There is another beautiful SAL hosted by Paulette - Mary's Sampler. She has two versions on her blog. I am gathering my fabric n threads and hope to start soon! So many SALs in blogland ha ha!

I promised an update on Dorothy in my last post, here she is! I finished the Bargello band, love it!

A close up on the Bargello Band, beautiful isn't it?

I am now on the Flowers Band, which is what attracted me most to this sampler. The flowers are gorgeous, I will enjoy stitching them very much!

Too many projects ongoing, I did not work on Sara's Summer. Hope to work on her after I finish the current SAL - Sorpresa 3.

I started on LHN's Little Sheep Virtue Series. Stitched it on a piece of unknown 30ct linen using DMC threads. It's too big, will stitch the others on 36 or 40 count linen.

I am very attracted to whiteworks after seeing Judy's gorgeous works. Currently trying my hands on Italian embroidery the Ruskin Lace/Reticello. Here is my progress on a piece of 28ct green linen. Very raw/uneven right? I am asking my friend to get books on Reticello for me, hopefully my embroidery will impove ha ha!

Love this teddy bear! We are making this bear at our weekly crafts meet. This red bear is made by my friend Sonia. Hope to show you mine in my next post ha ha!

I am crazy for scissors! Here are my recent additions to my collection... Love them!

I hope to post more regularly. Thank you for visiting and leaving lovely comments!

Happy Stitching!

Hugs,
Ellen

More Christmas Stitchings

It's December and I have more stitchings to show!

First, an update on Elisa's Christmas Tree. It is progressing very slowly because I am stitching more ornaments!

A closer look, I love the red stocking and that candy cane!

Merry Christmas is a freebie from The Little Stitcher. The stitching is not completed yet ha ha! I am also stitching the Fairytale Advent Calendar. Laura designs 24 small and cute ornies! The next two pictures are taken from her blog.

I have completed 3 of the 24 little ornaments. Hopefully I will be able to stitch all the 24 ornaments before X'mas! I plan to do the finishing on all the ornaments this weekend ha ha ha!

I received a wonderful ornament from Marie P for the HoE Stitcher's Choice Ornament Exchange. She chose to stitch for me a freebie by Plum Street Samplers, Christmas Coffee 2012. Marie's stitching and finishing are gorgeous! Thank you, Marie, I love this ornament very much!

Besides boxes, I also collect scissors. Here is a recent addition to my collection! This one is from China, a well known brand "Zhang Xiao Quan".

A beautiful gift from my friend, Sonia. It's for my handphone! She is great at patchwork and quilting! Thank you, Sonia, I love it!

Nicola is celebrating her birthday in a big way in 2013. She is organising a Scarlet Letter Challenge, to  complete one or more samplers by The Scarlet Letter. Please visit Nicola's Scarlet Letter Year if you are interested to join the Challenge. I have added my name to the long list of stitchers. The Scarlet Letter website offers a wide selection of samplers, some stitchers already have many SL samplers in their stashes! I have yet to decide what I want to stitch for this challenge ha ha!

Thank you for your visits and comments! Please come back to see my ornies in the next update! I will also show you what I am going to stitch for Nicola's Challenge!

Happy Stitching!

Hugs,
Ellen

Spring SAL '09

Remember the LHN/CCN Spring SAL I mentioned in my last post? Well, I managed to put in my last stitches before the deadline - 15th April, 2009. Here is a picture of the finished piece - Flower Shop by CCN. The colors are very pastel and springy.

I am currently expanding my skills at different finishing techniques. It is not perfect but here is my first heart-shaped ornament. The design was taken from one of the cross stitch magazines. This ornie was handmade, I did not have the sewing machine then. I had just got myself a new toy, Brother Sewing Machine model BM2600. I will be going for free sewing lessions in May. I hope to improve and expand my finishing skills further. Pictures and more about my new toy in my next post.

Next, some exchanges to share. I participated in the recent Biscornu Exchange at Tiny Treasures Exchange (TTE). These were what I stitched and received for this exchange. I stitched this biscornu and a matching scissors fob for my partner, Monique N. The freebie is designed by fellow Singaporean Stitcher, Joei. The tiny biscornu I received was from Maria of Canada. This 15-sided biscornu was made differently from the normal biscornu. It had little legs like table and they represents the coming of spring(according to Maria).

Nina of Between Crosses is running a scissors giveaway. Please visit her blog for more details. Nina encourages stitchers to show their collections of scissors. Here is a picture of my collection. I cannot resist scissors. Every time I see one, I say I want, I want. I hope my husband don't read this post, he must be wandering why I need so many pairs of scissors and still adding to the collection.

Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate and love all your comments.

Until the next update,
Ellen
