Scrappin' Saturday- Friendship!

Good Morning Everyone, and Welcome to another Scrappin' Saturday! I have found something very special and beautiful I wanted to share with you today. This week's challenge was to make something for a friend. I am very blessed to have some wonderful friends, and this project is something I would like to make for some of them.

This word book was made by Heather at Cricut Inspired Layouts. It is so beautiful!!

Heather bought this album, however, she has got the files to download to cut out over 20(!) other word books on her blog using Cricut Design Studio, click here to have a look. She has listed what cartridges you will need to in order to cut them out. For this 'Friend' album she has used Life Is A Beach and Story Book cartridges to decorate the book. So even if you want to use a store bought book, your Cricut will still be invaluable!

I just love this book, if you go over to Heather's blog she has more pictures and a detailed list of what she has used to create this wonderful present for her friend. I feel very inspired and think I will be on Design Studio this afternoon to make some books for a couple of my friends -maybe for Christmas presents, it's never too early!!

Fantabulous Friday -- Paisley

Hi everyone! I hope everyone has had a great week!! Not too bad here :) Our theme this week is Friendship. This was a tough one for me to think of something to show you today. Then, I figured I would just show you one of my favorite cartridges that I need to break out again, Paisley!! I really do think this is one of my favorites!!

Here's the sample sheet:

The buttons on this cartridge are Layer 1, Layer 2, Button, Card/Tab, Word/Word Blackout and Shadow/Word Shadow.

Now I'll show you some the projects I have made in the past and a new one with the card/tab feature!
This card has the perfect sentiment on it for our challenge this week.

This next card shows the shadow feature you can use with your cuts. And I really love the frog!

I love this zebra card! Especially since I had zebra paper to go with it :)

These M&M sleeves used cuts from the button feature (not the rainbow though). There are so many cuts on the cartridge when you add in all the extras you can use.

Last night, I decided to finally try the card feature. It's really cute! It cuts the card and the shift makes the top cover. It folds and tucks in the back. I did not like that you can see the fold in the back through the hole so I taped a piece of white to cover it up and then was able to stamp on that. Quick and easy!

I hope you had fun exploring Paisley today!! Make sure to make a project for a friend and enter our challenge this week--you have until Sunday night!!

Have a wonderful weekend :)

Thursday's Tutorial

Happy Thursday Fantabulous Friends!!! Can you believe it? We are already in August! This past week/month/year (LOL) has just flown by... seems like they all do, right? Well, keeping that in mind, it's really important to take time out of our busy lives to connect with our friends. Where would we be without them? Our theme this week has been all about friendship so I thought I would post a tutorial or two of some great projects that you can make for your friends to show them that you care. I know I need to take a little time and make a few projects for some friends because I haven't had time to talk to them as much lately because of my illness and the time it has taken away from all my fun stuff that I like to do, including chatting on the phone or having coffee with my best girl friends. Whoa! That was a long sentence. Forgive me for that one! ;0)

What better way to show your friends you love them than by showering them with gifts? :0) I have picked a few different adorable gift idea tutorials for today and hope you enjoy them. I'm sure some of you may have seen a few similar ones and perhaps I might have posted a similar one in the past, but in case you haven't (even if you have) I think you will enjoy these. I sure have! They are just too cute!

The first one I found on You Tube is by Bernadet Rodakowsi of Bernadet's Craft Blog. She is awesome! She's entered some of our challenges and I see she has more of a presence on You Tube than on her blog, so please swing by her blog and show her some love too. Please let her know who sent you! She really has some great stuff on You Tube that you will all want to check out as well.

I thought this would make an awesome card for a friend. It's just so much more special than a standard regular fold card. I hope you love it as much as I do and if you do, please be sure to check out some of Bernadet's other great tutorials!

The second tutorial comes to us from Tammybowstamper. You can find her work by doing a You Tube search. Please stop by and show her some love and tell her who sent you too! This video gives a Fantabulous idea of a perfect little gift to give a friend or two. I have some friends in mind who I would just LOVE to make some of these for.

How cute was that? I am so inspired, I am honestly heading to my craft room right now to get to work! Thanks ladies for your wonderfully inspiring videos.

Quick Tip Tuesday: Stamp Placement

Hello and Happy Tuesday.  It's time to share another Quick Tip.
I found this idea at Craftgossip.com and decided to try it out.  My Cricut is my favorite crafting tool for cardmaking (of course!!), but I also enjoy using stamps to embellish my cards as well.  If you're not sure how a stamped image will look on your card, you can experiment with the positioning by stamping the image first on a piece of acrylic.  I used Staz-On ink and a transparency sheet.  You could also use the clear packaging from your cartridges.  Then, move the image around on your project until you find just the right place.

As you can see, you get a better idea using the acryllic than trying to position the stamp block around your project.  This is an idea I will definitely continue to use.
Until next time -
Hugs and Happy Crafting,
Larelyn
