"Shut up and dribble", N****r.

Image result for lebron james obama suits charity imagesI am watching the All Star game with its usual pomp and circumstance, and all I can think about is the FOX VIEWS pundit and her ignorant and racist rant about LeBron James. She actually told James to "shut up and dribble"because he had the nerve to speak his opinion about the  president of the United States.

The last time I checked James is a tax paying citizen, who has every right to speak his mind against the president if he disagrees with him about a particular issue. Throw in the fact that James has done more to uplift his community and contribute to making this country a better place than this host could ever do, and you really have to wonder what she was thinking.

I think I know what she was thinking: How dare this uppity N****r speak out against a president who I consider an ideological soul-mate, and who happens to be a racist like me?

She made fun of the fact that James did not go to college, and she had the nerve to say the following about James criticizing trump: “barely intelligible, not to mention ungrammatical.” Think about this for a minute: A FOX host making fun of someone for not going to college. Irony is clearly dead in America. I am quite sure that well over 50% of their viewers do not have college degrees. But whatever. If you have to fire up your viewers with a tried and true formula of disparaging the black man, well so be it.

Sadly, this is giving the host what she wants: Attention. And she already had her follow up show with the predictable black token and house Negroes going on her show to declare that missy is not a racist. And she even took to twitter to invite him on her show.

“Hey King, Come play on my Court next week,”

I don't think that's going to happen, right-wingnut, since I am pretty sure that Bron didn't even know who you were before all of this.

In fact.....

“The best thing she did is help me create more awareness, ” he told reporters. “I appreciate her for giving me even more awareness.”

He continued, “I get to sit up here and talk about social injustice, equality, and why a woman on a certain network decided to tell me to shut up and dribble. So, thank you, whatever her name is — I don’t even know her name.”

Bron, consider yourself lucky.

An accidental racist joke?

I have a confession to make: The other member of my household loves Country & Southern  music. (I see you Mrs. Field.)

I didn't watch the CMAs last night, but I am pretty sure that she did. So I know that she heard some dude named Brad Paisley (Mrs. Field says he is a big deal) who was hosting the show make what some people consider a racist joke.

"The award show bumped ABC’s Black-ish from its usual spot. So Paisley made what seemed like only a fitting joke: “If any of you tuned into ABC tonight expecting to see the new show Black-ish, yeah, this ain’t it. In the meantime, I hope you all are enjoying White-ish.”

OK then, so where is the racism? A white Country music star telling the truth about Country music. It is  "White-ish". Let's face it, there aren't too many black folks involved with Country music. (Darius you don't count.) So he was speaking more truth than anything else. The fact that he even went there with the race issue at a country music program should be applauded.

So he took a shot at the sitcom, "Blackish". ----Which, truth be told, is a horrible show. Big deal.

Honestly, what I find racist is the fact that some folks find the title "Blackish" offensive. They are the same folks who whine about black folks having a television channel and black themed beauty contests etc. In other words, they think that black folks are getting special treatment because they have their own stuff. Forgetting, of course, that the only reason we have it is because they excluded us in the first place.

The fact that Paisley drew attention to white folks as a race is not racist, it is refreshing. I liked the fact that he pointed out the obvious: That a television show created for black folks was preempted by the very white CMA show.

I thought that this white person writing for Think Progress had an interesting take on the situation:

"Conversations about race in America almost universally focus on “race” as the identity of non-white people. When American media identifies something as having a race, that race is almost always black or Asian or Latino or Native. “Race” is hardly ever taken to mean “whiteness,” unless you’re looking at a census form.

But shouldn’t it be? I don’t mean that we should be advocating for white history month or talking about white people’s oppression. Just, simply, that we need to start treating whiteness not as a default but as yet another socially-constructed racial identity, one that comes with a lot of privileges." [Source]

Wait a minute, I remember this Paisley dude now. I knew his name sounded familiar.

He is the dude who teamed up with LL to make that awkward song about racism.

"Paisley’s first verse on “Accidental Racist” follows this formula to a T. He wants “the man that waited on me / At the Starbucks down on Main” to know that he doesn’t intend to telegraph his racial politics, that “The only thing I meant to say / Is I’m a Skynyrd fan.”

First a song and now a joke.

I think Brad just wants a black friend.

Those "racism chasing" wingnuts.

When someone mentioned the story I am about to post about in the comments section of this blog, I thought it was a joke. There was no way, I thought, that this story could be true.

Well, as it turns out, it is true.

"I was loathe to comment since I know that no rational discussion will follow. How could it? It was clear from the beginning that this was not a case of voter intimidation against anyone who might vote for John McCain. As many observers noted on that day, no matter how badly those two New Black Panters[sic] were behaving (and the police were called and responded), it’s a HEAVILY DEMOCRATIC PRECINCT. As blogger Ben Smith noted way back then, “You don’t typically intimidate your own voters.”But solid reporting from Media Matters and Adam Serwer of The American Prospect ought to put this nonsense to rest (it won’t, but it should). The charges against the New Black Panthers were downgraded by the Bush Department of Justice:The decision not to file a criminal case occurred before Obama was even in office. This means that the case was downgraded to a civil case 11 days before Obama was inaugurated, 26 days before Eric Holder became attorney general, and about nine months before Thomas Perez was confirmed as head of the Civil Rights Division." [Source]

Say what? The case was downgraded 11 days before his O ness took office?

Wait, you mean the wingnuts over at Radio Rwanda manufactured a story with a hint of some racial spice thrown in for good measure?

"The fact that the Bush administration also felt that this wasn’t the “open and shut” case that Fox News would have you believe may take some wind out of their sails, but not as much as Olbermann implies here. Also, Fox News (and our own Steve Krakauer) has been making a good point about the lack of coverage that the rest of the media has been giving this story. Olbermann gets his own good point in though, by remarking that some of Fox News’ coverage has had a bit of an uncomfortable racial tinge to it."

That's not the field talking, that's a conservative website. So where do we go from here, wingnuts? Where will we get our next faux story to fire up the base? Wait, what's that you say? You have another one already?

"So far Michelle Obama and the NAACP have offered three shreds of evidence that the Tea Parties as a whole are a racist movement.1) Supposed "slurs" yelled at black congressmen in Washington, which the media jumped all over. Raw video suggests otherwise. I suppose yelling or disagreeing with black men counts as racism. FAIL.2) Tea Party backed Rand Paul's opposition to the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Forget that Paul voiced the utmost contempt for discrimination of any kind. I guess believing the government has no right to force businesses to serve anyone and everyone counts as racism. FAIL.3) Racist signs and posters seen at Tea Party rallies. I suppose one racist sign out of 100 makes the entire movement racist. FAIL.So Michelle Obama, you have given us three ridiculous arguments and still cannot prove in any way, shape, or form that the Tea Parties are racist. What really irks me?Michelle Obama stands before a racially exclusive organization whose sole focus is the advancement of one race above all others and has the gall to accuse another group of people as being racist. This is hypocrisy of the highest order. I challenge you Michelle.

You tell Herman Cain the Tea Parties are racist. You tell Kevin Jackson the Tea Parties are racist. You tell it to Alan Keyes, Charles Lollar, Thomas Sowell, Deneen Borelli, Michelle Malkin, Allen West, Charles Butler, Lloyd Marcus, Angela McGlowan, Timothy Johnson, and Clifton Bazar..."

[Well, I would tell them for her, but they are too busy cleaning the big house. That's a lot of work.]

".. A few questionable signs. A phantom "slur". A candidate's opposition to government intrusion. Apparently these are valid accusations to conclude an entire movement of hundreds of thousands of people is based on bigotry. "

Ahhh, excuse me wingnut, but it seems that you are living in a parallel universe. Where exactly is Michelle Obama accuse the tabaggers of racism in this clip? Keep digging, I will wait.....

But this is what happens when one manufactured story goes to the dogs; they just invent another one. But field, Michelle Obama gave a keynote speech at the NAACP and the NAACP is adopting a resolution condemning the tea party folks as racist. Isn't that close enough?

I guess. Hey, she is black and it's a black organization. What else do you need?

But back to this New Black Panther story: Remember our wingnut lawyer friend, J. Christian Adams?

" On Tuesday, Mr. Adams argued that the New Black Panther Party case was solid. He also portrayed the civil rights division as a place where many officials are hostile to the idea of using civil rights laws to go after black perpetrators with white victims.

Tracy Schmaler, a Justice Department spokeswoman, said the department enforces voter intimidation laws “based on the merits, not the race, gender or ethnicity of any party involved.”

Sorry Mr. Schmaler, that's not good enough for the wingnut lawyer with a letter for a name.

"Mr. Adams, a Republican who had previously worked for South Carolina’s secretary of state, was hired in 2005. But he insisted on Tuesday that his political beliefs had had no bearing on his work. The investigation has divided the commission. In a statement on Tuesday, one of its two Democratic members, Michael Yaki, called it “incredibly shallow, expensive, and partisan” and a “one-sided farce.” [Source]

Mr. Yaki, you have just described the wingnut agenda to a tee.

Same to you, Harry.

A typical e-mail reads like this: Field how can you side with those racist republicans who are jumping all over Harry Reid? You are nothing but a House Negro, field. That is House Negro behavior on your part. There is no way you can compare this to what Trent Lott did. That man was calling for segregation.......and on it goes.

I am going to post this again so that I don't have to respond to individual e-mails or comments.

What. Harry. Reid. Said. Was.Ignorant.And. Racist. What.Trent.Lott.Said.Was.Ignorant.And. Racist. Why are we playing this your racist is worse than mine, game? Black people, WTF? If I see one more pretzel logic style article defending this clown I will renounce my black card and put in an application with the Native Americans tomorrow. And now you have the CBC putting out a statement about this bullshit.

I swear, when it comes to your politics you Negroes will take anything from massa. (See the alleged comments Bill Clinton made about his O ness and the silence from you people as example A. If you think about it, it's worse than Reid's, but not a word.) Well, not me. F%$k Harry Reid! To me, he is no different than Lott, Imus, Rush, and all those other clowns.

He should not get a pass anymore than Lott should have. I understand the need for dumbocrats to circle the wagons and defend this clown because the republicans-of all people-smell blood. They have, all of a sudden, become sensitive to us poor black folks and how we feel. I know, I know, it's laughable. And every time I see one of these clowns on television screaming Harry should go because of racism, I want to pull my hair out. OK, I don't have any. But I get really really mad.

Still, let's stop defending Harry; call the repukes out on their bullshit. Trent wanted to go back to a time when Niggers knew their place. Nuff said. No need to bring that up to defend what Harry Reid said. The two acts speak for themselves. It's not comparing oranges to oranges, but it's not comparing apples to oranges, either. It's more like comparing oranges to grapefruits if you get my drift.

Dumbocrats shouldn't get a pass on racial insensitivity just because we are ideological soul mates on most issues. We should denounce them as loudly as we denounce the repukes when they go all David Duke on us. Trust me, they will be giving you a lot of opportunities to do just that for the next four years. -A leopard can't change his spots-. Take the high road now and when the inevitable happens you will be able to call them on it without having to worry about them saying: Why didn't you take that position when Harry Reid had his little racial issue? They will accuse of being a hypocrite, and you know what?.... They will be right.
