Plastic, elastic, fantastic...

We were in Brighton at 10am, by 10.15 I had spent my Mother's Day voucher on a dress in Debenhams; I so rarely get that love-at-first-sight for clothing, especially when I have the money in my purse, so it's worth documenting!  No photo though, sorry.

Anyways, hubby had a replacement iPod, we had shopped the Lego store, Build a Bear, and the toy shop, grabbed a drink and a bun and got back in the car one minute before the 2 hour parking charge ticked over to another £!!!

I grabbed some interfacing on the way through the village, and spent this afternoon doing stuff!

There was a lot of elastic band action, and we all now have some of these...

And then I got to sew.  Proper 12" blocks.  Feels like ages since I stitched a pair; these are for Annabella's Stitch Tease quilt...

Love how they turned out, and I see a whole quilt of my own in the future, but more on that another day.

Tomorrow should see some gardening action, watching the London Marathon from the comfort of the sofa, and hopefully a bit more sewing.  I want to get on with my Sidekick tote, but I think I should clear a few more obligations before I do.  All good x

Off to a colourful start...

Knowing that I am in for a bit of a busy September, I have already got cracking...

There has been a little 'making'...

... and some arranging and re-arranging (no fancy design wall here)...

...some Brit Bee-blocking - I have already made the 2 requested Drunkard's Path blocks using Kerry's wonderful tutorial, but I will keep my finished blocks under wraps until they are back in Susan's grubby mitts, if only to tease her for a bit longer...

... and some scrummy mail from Pink Castle...

The aqua crosshatch is destined to become the lining for my hexie bag, so that can move back onto my To-Do list again - hurray!

Then we have this...

I know I was rather secretive about the first mug rug for the Goodie swap, but I think I can get away with showing you the whole of the first 'goodie' without giving the game away.

I thought a tri-fold needlecase would fit the bill for one of my partners, and the lining probably says more about 'me' than my partner, but I am rather pleased at how it turned out, as I kind of made it up as I went along.

Small slip pocket for bits and bobs...

An attached mini pin cushion...

...and needles pages...

So there you go partner, well, one of you, I hope you like it!

I thought you might also like a look at the completed 'secret' Project 51...

The full story of this quilt is not mine to tell, however it is now in the hands of the most amazing recipient and I am honoured to have played my part in making it xxx

Saturday sorting...

Today has once again been consumed with the house, sorting, chucking, re-cycling, and generally getting in a de-cluttering frame of mind.

I have an old book, which, to be honest has probably sat on the shelf since I bought it way back pre-children, Mary Lambert's Clearing the Clutter.

I am going to have that as my bed-time read this week.  I think it is aimed at getting you to 'let go' of things that you really don't need.  It must be said that I am already being pretty ruthless; this evening I have disposed of payslips from year-dot, all the duplicate tax credit notices and car insurance documents for cars we no longer own...all gone!

Just in case we are at risk of going too minimal, I picked up the second issue of making;  I've only had a brief look, and it's looking jam packed with quilty, crafty loveliness.
