It's the 2nd Tuesday of the month so it's time for a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog. This is also our only challenge for December as the 4th Tuesday is too close to Christmas, so we're taking a break.
We also have 2 new members, Jane and Katie, joining our Designer Team.
Okay, so the theme for our challenge, chosen by our lovely Lady Diana of Magnolia-licious is STARS. Diana wants to see stars, stars, star...lots of them!!! And here's my DT card.
I saw a star card made by I-can't-remember-who-now--sorry, but she gave me a link to a tutorial which I quickly added to my 'favorites'. Here's the link to Bella Mio's tutorial. I was intrigued by it and knew that sooner or later I was going to try making one. LOL...it's taken me a year to make it. Anyway, I thought a star card would be perfect for this challenge.
One of the paper is one that I handstamped. I was looking for a DP with lots of stars, but couldn't find one in my stash--at least not one with the right colours. So had to make my own.
Those adorable images are mini Tildas from Magnolia. They are from left, top to right: Mini Winter Tilda, Mini Midwinter Tilda and Tilda in Winter Night. When you unfold the card , you can see that the base of the card is a triangle. It measures 12"x12"x12".
Here's a hint if you want to try your hands at making this type of card: when you're using DP's to decorate, use scrapbook papers, not scrapbook cardstocks. The cardstock makes the card too stiff. I was struggling to tuck one of the folds underneath another--too thick to bend easily.
This is Silent Night Tilda from the So Jolly & Under the Mistletoe Collection 2009.
I get all my Magnolia stamps from Diana's on-line store Magnolia-licious. Diana has a fabulous selection of anything and everything Magnolia (stamps--regular size and minis, doohickey cutting dies, magazines ...), fabulous discounts and store credits too!
Don't know if I can just choose one Tilda as my favorite, but I think she's in the running for it...LOL. Hey, how about you...do you have one very very very favorite Tilda?
I've done my colouring for this card with my coloured pencils. I thought the minis would be easier to colour with them also than with markers...but it wasn't really.
I used lots of glitter for this card. Almost everything white I've covered with glitter, the swirls/flourishes, the fur trims, the pompoms on the hat and the houses in the background.
I am entering the following challenges with this card:
