Christmas Cards with Baker Ross

I like a quick to put together Christmas Card as you end up making so many, so I've used some designs that are easy to put together and you can make in bulk.  For my first I used some of the Baker Ross green coloured card and punched out several snowflakes, I then glued them in a circle to make a wreath, adding a little bow at the top and a stamped (BoBunny) Christmas sentiment.

For my next card I used some adhesive felt, and hand cut out some mittens, I drew on the washing line and then stuck on the mittens with my sentiment and a sequin snowflake.

For the final card, again the basic shapes hand cut from adhesive felt and then a few golden sequins added along with my sentiment.

I'll be back tomorrow with some more Christmas goodness too.

Christmas cards

I am quite a simplistic card maker - I spend time layering up my pages but for some reason struggle with cards and find simple easier :)

Last Christmas I was given this beautiful set of papermania stamps the first is a beautiful tree and all I did was add some bling and then some glitter for the bow.

A little more technical - I stamped a woodgrain stamp through a little square aperture that I made, and then stamped the stockings onto October Afternoon gingham paper and then cut them out.

I water-coloured this beautiful reindeer with distress inks and then added some glossy accents to the bow and some glittery snow and a golden star.

I also received a beautiful holly die cut - a couple of years back and as I had a Robin stamp it was the perfect branch for the Robin to sit on - again cut out of gingham paper, and then I stamped some snowflakes falling too.

A couple of Cards

Here are a couple of cards that I made using the Fancy Pants Park Drive and then Trendsetter collections of paper.  The first card was made using lots of offcuts and the big camera stamp is by Simple Stories as well as the noteworthy stamp.  I layered up the papers, added some twine too, and inked all the edges.

I was a little more ambitious with the second card, making a kind of stepped card - I used some 12 by 12 and then created 3 sections of 4" - the last 2 sections I cut at an angle so when you fold it you get the steps.  I stitched and layered lots of the Trendsetter papers on my different panels, and some bunting and stickers.  I also used my circle and scalloped circle punches to decorate the front.

A couple of Cards on Tuesday

Catching up again and this time with some cards.  The first I made for the Tando blog, I had a go at an easel card which I love 'cos they are easy to make but just look a little different.  I used a mix of Crate Paper and American Crafts to decorate it - love the Dear Lizzy masons jars still and I used my Teresa Collins stamps to add the sentiments in the middle.  I then inked up a Tando star gold and tucked it behind the jar.  For the base of the easel I cut out a babygrow and wrapped it in twine, then adding a little star button which I embossed.

I'm still experimenting with my card making, and this card is a kind of random mixture of things that I would use on my scrap pages....in fact it is a lot of the left behind bits - I had a go at spritzing on a card, then layered up a doily, some embossed vellum, another mason jar as well as a sprinkling of sequins and little pearls.

MME and Simple Stories Cards

Here are a couple of cards that I made with the MME Lost and Found 3 papers from ATDML- the 1st one used some nesting scallop punches that I got for Christmas, I also used the punch to make the flower - I punched out the scallop and then used some scallop edge scissors to cut more of a spiral shape into and then trimmed part way down each scallop (hope that makes sense!).  I then coiled it up and added a pearl in the centre, some sheer ribbon and a bit of left over hessian and the sentiment.

For this card, I just layered up all my off cuts and stitched them, added some co-ordinations which I sanded to show the red and a Tando butterfly - I inked this red, then embossed with clear embossing powder and sprinkled a little glitter in to made a girly card.

And I am not sure that I showed you the cards I made with the lovely Simple Stories Snap papers - I went for a really boy one first using the Awesome papers, and cut out a bingo card, used some of the stickers and a little bit of garden twine and tissue tape - with a spritz of mist in the background...and

A more girly one, with one of the polaroids from the Snap range, and butterflies :)

So lots of cards, which is a little unusual for me!

Fathers Day and a Birthday Card

Here are a couple of cards that I did for Fathers day, the 1st was using October Afternoons Farmhouse collection and the lovely silhouette stamp that they have.  I layered up lots of offcuts of paper (which you can see with the 2 little punched hearts that went on a LO I did), there are also a few echo park stickers in there too.  I had a go at making some fringe like in the bazzil packs but mine is out of an old dictionary which I stitched.

This is the card I made for my Dad using some of my favourite Amy Tangerine stamps and papers.  I tried to keep it colourful and added lots of layers.

Finally a birthday card, again using up all my offcuts and the AC Chaps and Amy Tangerine stamps - I also made my own little cup cake out of some of the strips of paper.

So managed to get all my cards done ready for the weekend, and wishing all the Dads out there a great Fathers day.

Birthday Cards

For my post over at A Trip Down Memory Lane I had a look at tabs that are quite trendy to use at the top and bottom of your pages (and a fab use of the odds and ends of paper that you are left with).  I decided to see whether they would work on a card too, and this is what I came up with.  I used some of the Crate Paper Farmhouse collection and some garden twine, punches and stamps.  I secured my twine behind the tabs and then stapled it across the card, and hid the end again at the bottom behind the tab.  I stapled some Martha Stewart butterflies along the twine and added Happy Birthday using some silicon glue.

This is the card that I made for my nieces - I cut out the 5 using my silhouette and then layered up lots of strips of kaisercraft papers behind the die cut.

We've got a busy weekend with a swimming gala and a dance/singing performance but I should be back on Sunday with a page.  Hope you all have a great Friday.
