Young Love

Well, the weather at home is frightful (Canada), but here in Florida it is so delightful.  What can I say....so glad I am looking at sunshine rather than all that snow.  I semi-posted a few cards, to stay in touch while away.  Let's see how that goes.

Today's card uses a stamp from Sarah Kay, coloured with watercolours.  Ideal for Valentine's Day, which is just around the corner.  Cut and matted with Spellbinders dies, with some flowers and pretty pastel colours to remind us that spring will be here one day.....hopefully sooner rather than later.

Hope you are all keeping well and staying warm and cozy.  I will try to send some sunshine your way!

Oh what a lovely day!

Good morning, and another lovely day I hope!  We are still wearing winter coats, but the snow and ice are disappearing and we're able to say goodbye to winter boots.  I haven't seen a robin yet, but I had another visit from Mr Skunk.  When I went to get out of the car last evening he was only maybe 25 ft away.  I might have to do something about this.  Any ideas??

Today's card uses the lovely Sarah Kay stamp,  Rosalie's Bicycle.  I've used water colours for the image and Pan Pastels for the sky.  I was pleasantly surprised at how the black framework made the image pop, and I'm sure I will be trying that again.

Other supplies used:
Basic Grey paper - Clippings collection
Spellbinders dies - Labels Eight and Decorative Labels Eight
Some paper candi, a button and a bow for embellishment

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to get outside and enjoy some sun, if it's shining where you are!

Get on your bike and ride....

Time for another challenge at Charisma Cardz, and this time the theme is Travel.  We would love to see your take on this theme, so hopefully you can find some time for crafting and have some fun.  Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations for added inspiration.

Remember..... the days when you rode a bike for fun, not exercise, and your body didn't complain for three days afterwards! (lol)  Today I've stamped up Rosalie's Bicycle from Sarah Kay, and she definitely looks like she's enjoying her ride.  A nice simple one layer card which really lets this sweet image shine.  I've coloured with my copics, punched the lower corners with my newest MS punch, added the corner element...cut on my Silhouette, and finally some doodling and DI for the edges.  All done!

Our  generous sponsors this week are:

Hope you have a wonderful day, and thanks for visiting.

Sealed With a Kiss

What do you think takes the most time, colouring the image, creating the rest of the card, finding the verse for inside the card, or.....making up the blog post. If it were numbers and spreadsheets I would be fine, but....oh well, here goes.

Using the Sarah Kay stamp, 'A Kiss for Chloe', this card can be entered into the Stampavie Challenge #29 Hot/Summer.

They may be wearing long pants, but they have bare feet, so I gave it a summer evening theme, with the sun setting behind them. Except for a few layers of paper and a gold dragonfly, the image is the card.

The image was stamped and heat embossed to preserve the outline definition, then coloured with water colours.

The background is made with distress inks and a brayer, masking with paper scraps to protect the image and also to create different layers and depths of colour. I still have a lot to learn with this technique, but it was fun to do.

Other challenges that this card can enter:
..Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Sing it Baby (Sealed with a Kiss)
...Practical Scrappers - Use your #1 favourite product (distress ink)
....Simple Doodles - #23 Get out of the box (new technique)
.....Whoopsie Daisey - use the colours Blue and Green

In addition, I am entering into the competition at Polka Doodles, in conjunction with Letraset, for a set of Aquamarkers.
