A Birthday Brew

Morning all...happy Bank Holiday Monday to you all, although the weather here isn't that great and it looks like we will have rain showers on and off all day! We're off out shortly to look at new flooring for the bathroom and we hope to take advantage of some bank holiday discounts if we can!

It was my hubby's birthday last weekend and this is the card I made for him using my new Cheery Lynn Step Card Die!

Those of you who visit my blog regularly will know I recently learnt how to make step cards and its true to say I have become a bit addicted to them.

Creating the blank template was easy with the instructions that my crafty buddy Sue gave me but working full time often leaves me little time for crafting, so to make life easier, I treated myself to this die and oh my word...so quick to create and the die cuts beautifully!

I purchased direct from Cheery Lynn Designs in the USA and the cost including shipping worked out at about £27.00. Shipping was really fast too and I had the die within a week! I'm such a happy bunny now!

I'm entering my card into this weeks From The Heart Stamps Challenge #68...Card Sketches with a Twist (I've gone for the twist which is to use a sentiment) ends 01/06/14

Brother Birthday Card

Morning me lovelies, this is a virtual me here with a scheduled card that I made recently for James' birthday. This was Sophie's brother card to James and I can't believe I'm so far behind and haven't posted it yet...his birthday was nearly 3 weeks ago!

I've used another one of these fab Birdbrain images designed by From the Heart and I have to say I love these comical images.  They are such a refreshing change from all the cutesie images and even better still most of them come with sentiments included!

I paper pieced the playing cards to coordinate with the design papers and I have to say James absolutely loved this card...it's still up on the mantel piece!

Sophie's 14th Birthday Card

Morning all, it's beautifully sunny here today after a full day of rain yesterday. At least the whole Easter weekend hasn't been a complete washout but it has gone far too quickly for my liking. Do I want to go back to work tomorrow? That'll be a big fat no then lol!

Today I'm sharing the card I made for Sophie's birthday last weekend...I recently learnt how to do step cards (courtesy of the lovely Sue from Bearhouse Creations) and now I'm obsessed and can't stop making them. They seem to have really ignited my craft mojo and I'm pretty sure you'll be seeing lots more of this style of card in the coming weeks!

I'm entering my card into the current TPS Challenge #154...Spring is Here (ends 22/4/14)

DigiStamp Boutique....Alf "Dad's Shed"

Afternoon me lovelies, hope you're having a good weekend so far...it's been lovely and sunny here today but I haven't been out yet as I've been taking advantage of the peace and quiet with everyone out, to do a bit of crafting.

I have to thank my lovely blogging buddy Sue over at Creations by Bearhouse for inspiring me to make a centre step card. I have seen some of these on Sue's blog and have always been quite envious that she knew how to make them. She very kindly sent me a template and hey presto...I've made my first step card...thank you Sue...you're a star!

I also totally 'borrowed' Sue's idea to use a flower border die along the bottom and also to colour in some of the flowers...a pretty cool idea which really made the die pop! I'll be giving this card to my Dad for Father's Day and I hope he'll like it!
