100% Design 2011 ...

Some things that caught my attention at 100% Design yesterday ....

I'm in love with the simplicity of the 'Convertible Table' from TuttoTondo Design ... especially great for small spaces, this table is multi-functional and has a very cool 50's feel about it. Once the lid is closed, you can leave everything as is inside the workstation and transform it into a dining table that can comfortably sit up to 6 people.

A little light humour ...

These 'Big Big Bling Necklace' lights add a little humour to your interior and are from the very talented Penelope Batley

Beautiful glassware from Bob Crooks Firstglass, known internationally for his lighting production and one off ranges, with many pieces in collections worldwide

I thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition this year ... I think it has stepped up a notch as compared to the previous years. Tomorrow I'm off to Decorex International at The Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend ...

SixInch Style...

Lanvin Raw Edge Dress
Image: Bergdorf Goodman

This beautiful Lanvin dress has such a beautiful architectural structure about it, that instantly reminded me of the Rocking Chair by the company SixInch which I recently saw at 100% Design

This Belgium company based in Antwerp spray their secret formula polyurethane on French inspired furniture which can be used inside and out.

Just a few of their pieces...

MEYSTYLE .... LED Wallpaper

MEYSTYLE’s mission is to rescue walls from the background, integrating bold patterns with LED lights and crystals to create a deep visual experience that transforms walls and wallpaper into works of art.

I met the gorgeous Ekaterina Yaschuk at The 100% Design Show recently and fell in love with the concept of wallpaper and LED lights incorporated together. Swarovski crystals can also be added to accentuates the impact of the LEDs.

The delightful Ekaterina and her sister Maria are Russian born and both have design degrees from London. The feature of incorporating LED's into wallpaper was invented by the sisters in 2004 and remains unique to their company until this day.

This would be gorgeous in a little girls room, imagine with the crystals....

A very stylish study....

And they even do silk fabrics....

I just couldn't resist .... this weekend

This weekend I couldn't resist:

  • Buying these See By Chloe dark blue patent leather boots
  • Visiting 100% Design in London and
  • Attending the opening of Decorex and the BIID International Breakfast Seminar, where the guest speakers were product designer Gareth Devonald-Smith, famous for designing the Lollipop Chandelier for Porta Romana

  • And New York Interior designer Harry Schnaper, who gave a very inspiring talk about being a late bloomer and entering interior design after numerous jobs as a teacher, a culinary artist, waiting tables and bar- tending. His favourite projects are very much based on the art deco look resulting in elegant and timeless interiors.
