Electric Blue + Hot Pink :: Guest Post

Good morning everyone!
As you all know I am on the beautiful Greek island of Kefalonia and what better way to kick off the week, than with a guest post highlighting the wonderful combination of electric blue and hot pink.
Enjoy and thank you Susi!

.......

Hi, I'm Susi and I write for the fabulous interior design site -†Design Shuffle. It's a social networking site for interior designers, architects, design professionals and enthusiasts who just love interior design. I am so fortunate to get to write about beautiful interior designs and interesting decorating ideas. Today, we're going to look at one of my favorite color combinations.

Inspired by the image below, we are loving interiors that feature electric blue paired with hot pink. Electric blue and hot pink decor is such a happy, fun combination that can be modern, sophisticated, or island inspired depending on the exact shades used and how they are employed. We've even included a simple temporary idea to bring this bold combination into your decor. Enjoy!

The Glam Lamb via

We love the white stucco walls with electric blue trim as a backdrop for the hot pink bougainvillea. Incredible inspiration for an interior.

Sheridan French via

Electric blue and pink are striking against a dramatic dark wall. A painted chest of drawers in hot pink might feel more feminine.

Hi Sugar Plum via

Electric blue walls and hot pink decorative accessories like pillows give this bedroom design a tropical resort feeling inspired by Calypso. Lots of white balances out the intense colors.

DecorPad via

Electric blue and hot pink in small doses can still create big impact. The blue glass chandelier is unexpected--and gorgeous.

Tick Tock via

Neutral gray walls with a hint of lavender offset the bold pink and blue of the furnishings and accessories in this sophisticated, feminine living room design.

Design Chat with Kim Lemmon via

Electric blue and hot pink are an unexpected combination for a dining room. Love the saturated wall color against the deep pink curtains.

The Enchanted Home via

Perhaps more cobalt than electric, the deep blues in this living room are fantastic against the intense pink of the art and pillows. Sophisticated, yet playful.

Something as simple as a cobalt vase filled with hot pink blooms from your garden or farmerís market can create this look in any room in your home.

Guest Post!

Today I want to introduce you to my first guest blogger:

Jason Wu's Spring 2011 collection was filled with stylish flourishes like ruffles, bows and delicate sheers along with bold pops of color, black and white pattern and classic neutrals. The collection had a decidedly feminine edge.† We were inspired to find rooms, furnishings and even light fixtures that reflect Wu's spring collection. Some rooms are based on a sense of color while others capture the lines and textures of his designs.

Pink and orange stripes paired with a pink patterned sarong make a bold statement.

Honey Living (via)

A cheerful room created with solid colored furniture pieces is paired with a bold pink & orange damask patterned wallpaper. The idea of bold color mixed with strong pattern works well in a number of palettes and from clothing to interiors.

A yellow and grey floral dress is softly feminine.

House to Home (via)

Above is a picture of a living room featuring soft feminine curves and floral accents in a yellow and grey palette. The small area of wallpaper becomes an accent rather than dominating the room. The symmetry of the table lamps, wall art, candles and books serve to balance the room.

Tiny black and white all over pattern gives this dress a graphic feeling.

Alspics (via)

We like this living room with a mix of feminine patterns in black and white, graphic without being harsh. Natural elements like the leaf pattern are balanced with sharp black and crisp white accents.

Several pieces in the collection featured a neutral palette layered with subtle pattern and texture.

DÈcor Pad (via)

This bedroom layers textures and subtle pattern, like the area rug, to create a neutral but not boring dÈcor. Fabrics and paint work to create a soothing, harmonious room. Wall sconces are added next to the headboard for extra lighting.

A simple neutral dress is a backdrop for bright floral accents. The flowers balance the tailored lines of the dress.

Proper Hunt (via)

A tailored, neutral office feels more feminine with a floral roman shade. The colorful floral shade adds a burst of color to the room without making the room feel too girly.
