Back to School...

Last day of August O.M.G!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I have a card to share for one of the challenges a while ago on the Simply Betty Facebook page, I absolutely adore Simply Betty images :)
I have however lost my colour list so cannot share that with you right now - sorry
You will find heaps of gorgeousness in the Simply Betty store
I coloured her with Spectrum noir markers and mounted her onto my card base using 3d glue gel. The papers and deep purple centura pearl I cut using a spiral punch from Stampin' Up. The "A" was cut using the contempoary letters from Die'sire and the sentiment from the Verity Rose range :)

I think I'll be giving this to my Syds - last year of school oh my days how did that happen!!!!!!!!

Until next time

Hello...

Hiya Everyone,
So sorry its been a while again, I do have good intentions but they go to pot

I am sure by now you have all heard the very sad news that our fellow crafty friend
has earned her angel wings and left our lives
I know I speak for many when I say how much Sandie will be missed - I for one surely will miss her heaps and heaps - she was a true friend and inspiration
You can find heaps of inspiration over on Sandie's amazing blog
and you can read tributes from the Spectrum Noir Team and the Crafter's Companion team on the blogs
Sandie my lovely - I will always keep you in my heart
sleep tight

Today I also have a card to share using a Sad image - it kinda sums up how many of us have been feeling this week
This card was for my little Ella's teacher - who was leaving - but after she was given the card she said to me you do realise I am not leaving - how 6 year olds interpret conversations!
Still she loved it and I love this image from Simply B stamps
I coloured her with spectrum noirs - although I don't have the colour list. The letters are from 1 inch die'sire dies and the bow card is from the lovely sandra, I adore it. I also used dies from the Downton Abbey collection.

Thanks for stopping by today
Have a good day
Jo

Simply Betty Saturday...

YES YES YES
I have a Simply Betty make to share can you believe it!
I really wanted to keep on top of my one a week - but life got in the way - anywhoo - for maybe a one time only I am back on track waaaaaaaaaaaaa

This was made for the lovely Catherine, who celebrated her Birthday last week
I must confess tho, I coloured the image before that, as Betty was running a Boysenberry hair colour comp on the Simply Betty facebook page, wowzers did you see the entries?! go have a look see - those girls can COLOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I tried my own Boysenberry colour hair and I think every purple should now be called Boysenberry, I love the way it sounds Boysenberry, go on say it Boysenberry, Boysenberry addictive huh?
Or have I just had to many party rings today lol
I used dies from the Downton Abbey collection from crafters companion, I used white centura pearl, cut it to the shape of Sandras bow card and then embossed it using the grande dots embossing folder, I coloured it using black and purple inks.

My girlie I coloured with spectrum noirs

Simply Betty Saturday...

ON A SATURDAY!
Get in there me! LOL

Today is a day of very mixed anxieties for me
Its our nieces Birthday Party - whoop whoop Happy Birthday
ALTHOUGH
and a BIG ALTHOUGH
My lovely Sister in Law thought it would be great to go Ice Skating
OK
Now obviously I can't get on the ice because if I fall on my hand - eeeeek
So who on earth is going to stop my girls from breaking their necks?!
I am actually panicked inside lol
So to calm my nerves I think I'll treat myself to Pie Mash
Watch this space! I'll report back on any dramas! (fingers crossed there is none)

It seems both my girls friends were all born within the last and next few weeks, oh my gosh they have kept me busy making cards!
This is for one of Syds friends - these two always go shopping together so I wanted to make a little handbag shaped card.
The card is printed A3 from Crafter's Companion, the embellies from my stash, the numbers are Die'sire dies and the image is one of the stunning Black Friday images from Simply Betty.
Blinkin' love this girl so much!

Simply Betty - Wednesday...

LOL
So I also missed my Simply Betty Saturday post eeeek
So its here but on a Wednesday - so I still hit the one a week
Well technically it'll be 2 this week, but we aren't counting (much) hehehe

Todays Card I have used poorly Betty
How sweet does she look all feeling sorry for herself and snuggled in a blankie
I don't look this good when I'm poorly! My hair comes out my head and goes frizzy in every direction - then it gets greasy and goes flat in every direction! lol - nightmare!
I wanted to keep her Clean and Simple and pastelly in colours :)
The papers are from the gorgeous Floral Delights range from Sara Davies, the embossing folder is Grande dots, I have wanted that folder for forever! so I'm chuffed I have finally got my mitts on it, the smaller dotty folder is the petite dots, the oval and funky shape are nesties, ribbon and lace from my stash.

Simply Betty Saturday...

Happy Saturday
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend
My Ella has a bowling party to go to later that should be fun :) other than that my weekend will be spent in jamas resting my arm - it'll be fun to sit and watch hubby do all the work! yea right who am I kiddin' lol

One Simply Betty card a week - week 3 - card 3
Whoo hoo I'm smashing this hahahaha
Over on the Spectrum Noir Team we like to show you ideas, techniques and tutorials, and as a team we like to use the ideas our teamies have taught us - so this month I have followed the fabulousy fun tutorial from Laine on using Bubbles with Aquamarkers - You will find it HERE
Although I used Aquatints, and I give you a word of warning - if you are messy like me - cover EVERYTHING! Bubbles have a mind of their own you know and with aquatint inside of them omgosh! MESS lol - I'm still removing white splots and splats!
I coloured this gorgeous dude up with spectrum noir markers, the sentiment ack - it is a digi, I just cannot place where from, the red card is coredinations. I mixed some bubble mix with some of the white aquatint and I blew it at the wet black card, it popped it splatted and it bubbled lol, then I had to remember to let it dry! I think it looks really effective and I'll deffo be trying it again :) Thanks Laine

Simply Betty Saturday...

Happy Saturday :D
Hope you are all well and having a fab day whatever you are up too

I do love Saturday's! Usually it is a PJ day for my household! I get up late, snuggle with pens and watch Jeff Stelling on sky all day long ha - one of my little luxuries in life! But this week I have the delight of seeing my Brother instead! I actually cannot wait! Its been over 10 months since I've seen him and he has a new little baby - ooooooh super excited!

Today I have a card to share showing another Simply Betty Image
oh how I love this one :)
AND
I am keeping on top of my one a week Simply Betty makes
(stop laughing! I know its only week 2)
hahahahahahaha
I kept this card incredibly Simple, I coloured her with spec noir markers and pierced the edges, the circle is from the centre of the accordion circle dies and the paper from Sara Davies Butterfly Collection, embellies from my stash,

I really love how simple but effective she looks :) I wanted also to make sure I have a card amongst my stash that is suitable for a "Fighter" so she will be saved for someone special for sure that needs a little bit of love and support.

Simply B Saturday...

Happy Saturday :D
Today marks our first Birthday of the year and its my Syds - 15!!! Can you believe that?!
Sometimes I stand back and wonder - how did that happen?! Honestly feels like yesterday she was born!

Another New Year's Resolution of mine was to use more images from my stash - from some of my fave companies! - I promised myself a Simply Betty make a week and a Mo Manning make a week - fingers crossed! - so thats just what I have done for Syd's Card - Simply Betty lol
You can find all the goodness HERE in the shop
NO! I did not spell her name like that when she was registered! BUT I am doing the humour thing and spelling it how she does - just for one day only! LOL
The papers are from the stunning Downton Abbey paper pad from Crafter's Companion - I totally recomend them - they are beautiful! The musical notes are from a sizzlitt die and the lettering is from the Contempoary 1 inch alphabet from crafter's companion - as is the 3 inch numbers. I used a little Crystal Clear Sparkle pen over the black - my new best friend is Spectrum Sparkle! adore them.

Pray for Paris...

Hello Again

Betty from Simply B stamps has drawn the most beautiful image for us as a freebie to remember the people involved in the tragic events that unfolded in Paris last week
129 lost their lives and many more injured
My heartfelt condolences go to everyone who has been affected, it truely makes for a terrifying world to live in and raise children in.
May all those who lost their lives - Rest in Peace
and may all of us remember them - everytime I look at this card I know I will remember that awful night
Thankyou Betty - you can check out the Simply B Stamps Facebook page for info about the image

We will remember
God Bless

Miserable Monday...

Well not me - My card lol

This kitty just makes me smile! I know its a cat but it kinda makes me look at it and say " like a bear with a sore head" the kinda look I give out when I am really really really NOT in the mood lol - worst still you can imagine some Diva cats looking like this in that thing we call Real Life- That in itself is like a swear word! -  HAHAHA

I did say yesterday I brought a few Animals from Some Odd Girl and this is another
Honestly I had so much fun colouring this image up! he is faberooney
I used my Spectrum Noir markers to colour him and mounted him to my card using 3d glue gel. The papers are from the 12 x 12 Floral Delights Paper Pad range from Sara Davies at Crafter's Companion - these are delightful papers! I matted using kraft card and matt black card. I used the Textures Embossing folder Basket Weave - you will find this over in the Crafter's Companion Shop. The sentiment I think is from Simply Betty Stamps - sorry not 100% and the sentiment on the inside which no surprise I did not take a pic of is from Penny Black - It says - if you don't like my attitude...Get a dog - I think I may make another and use that on the outside too :)

Spectrum Noir Markers Used
BG1,2,4,5
FS6,8

TB2

I hope we all have a better day than this kitty
Until Next Time
