Lovebirds

Hi Everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I am sharing some inspiration using a selection of their Love themed Dies on my Vintage styled Valentine card.

I started by cutting out my Heart Stackers for the base of my card adding a couple of tattered layers.

My centre heart doily and sentiment were both shadow layered to help them pop against my patterned paper. I also added some cheesecloth behind my Lovebirds image which I coloured with a little Sugar Spun Distress Stain.

My flowers were all shaped with Embossing tools on my mat. I added gems into the centre of two of them and Stickles into the centre of my Baby's Breath flowers.

Love Bug

Hi everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I have made a fun card that would suit a variety of themes from passing a driving test, a Birthday or just to send love.

I started by adding all my base layers to my card and made up some Sweet Christine Flowers by folding the petals in half and pressing the flower in the centre on my Embossing mat. I added four layers and a gem into the centres and glued in place over my lace diecut strip. I just adore these flowers, they are quick to make and very effective.

My word was drop shadowed and glued in place with Silicone Glue to add extra dimension.

I added an accent onto the corner with another flower and a couple of keys cut from Gold Mirri Board.

My Hippy Mobile I cut out in patterned paper and glued in place onto white card which was fussy cut around the die cut. I added Glossy Accents onto the lights and windows, I shaded the body of the car with a Copic Pen and paper pieced my wheels and the sun visor in a co-ordinating colour.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and for the lovely comments you leave, I appreciate them so much.

Dream Forever

Hi everyone, today for my DT card at Cheery Lynn Designs I am delighted to be sharing some more inspiration from their new Bohemian Collection on my Dream Forever card.

Have you noticed on Cheery Lynn's Stacker Dies you can get Stitched and Pierced details at the edges of these Dies or just left plain. I love all these extra touches of detail and when I looked at the details on my Mandala Doily, Cowboy Boots and Dreamweaver Dies I noticed all the Pierced details so I knew I wanted to use one of the sets of Pierced Stackers. I chose the Coved Rectangles and added an accent from the outer edge of my Mandala Doily at the edges.

My Cowboy Boots were cut out of Kraft Cardstock highlighting all the embossed detail with a Fineliner Pen and a little ink to age them. I layered the swirls and buckles on twice and added a brad onto the boot. Aren't they so cool !

I cut my Mandala Doily out of Kraft Cardstock and paper from Maja Design, layering it on top for contrast. Next I cut out the centre and added my Dreamweaver Die which had also been layered twice. I extended the tassels on my Dreamweaver and hid the joins with my pretty flowers.

I offset the feathers to look as if they are blowing in the wind and added some small feathers  that I pulled out of a feather pillow for added texture.

I finished with lots of pearls and a sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you manage to get some creative time  this week.

Nice Little Things

Hi Everyone,  with winter now just around the corner here in Scotland, I have started to feed our Garden Birds once again. This week my Cheery Lynn DT card is inspired by them and the Summer flowers that are now all disappearing.

Let me show you previous layers again on this card to make it easier to understand how I made it.

You will see I layered my French Flair Doily stackers rotating the following layer to a diamond shape and I paper pieced in my Snowflake Doily at the back.

I shaded my leaves, birds and birdbath with distress inks and my flowers were coloured with Copics.

I stamped my verse, added a little distress and accent stamping to soften the sharpness of the white card.

Happy Crafting,

Julie x

Lace Wardrobe Style Card

Hi everyone,
For my DT card this week I thought I would showcase how versatile Cheery Lynn doilies can be in making beautiful accents and patterns on our craft projects.
The Anastasia border matches the Kiwi doily die perfectly so are great to use together, especially when making a real feature with them, like I am doing with this card.

On the opening of my card you will see the border strips, I love the lace effect. You will also see my doily cut into corners and halved. I matted and layered onto papers.

My flowers were made by cutting them out in same pale green card stock as the swirls and background but I stamped a little gesso onto them and rubbed the edges too with gesso before making them up, to give a shabby feel.

The inside of my card compliments the outside and I embellished with a few pearls to finish.

Thanks for stopping by today to see my card.

Doily Flower Card

Hello there my Blogging friends, where does time fly to, I can't believe we have almost been home a week from our break in Majorca, but the good news is I think we brought the sunshine home with us as it has been the most beautiful week here in Scotland.
Yesterday I went around our local Garden Centre with my Mum and at this time of year it's full of so much inspiration seeing all the gorgeous flowers in full bloom. I am still playing catch up trying to visit everyone's blog so please bear with me.
This week for my DT post at Cheery Lynn Designs is a card for a Birthday which would be suitable for a variety of occasions by simply changing the wording with Cheery Lynn word dies.

My flowers were cut out using white cardstock and inked to shade them. I layered various leaves and my tiny flourishes to form an arrangement on my card. My doily I also inked and added the Angel wing die offset to the back of the doily to make everything POP. You will see my Border strip was also inked in two shades and matches my Doily.

Hope you all have a beautiful sunny weekend wherever you may be. Thanks to everyone who left comments on my last card while I was on Holiday, much appreciated.

Little Women

Hello there Blogging friends.
This is a scheduled post for my DT at Cheery Lynn Designs, as I am on holiday at present. This week I thought I would make an Easel card using one of the Reflections Boutique Mega Dies. These are really clever dies as they give you scope for cutting out many different sizes. They also cut out  2 layers of cardstock with ease so you can make shaped cards.

My flowers and doilies were cut out using white cardstock and inked. I added flowersoft into the centres of my flowers. I used the Cuties 3 strip curled around my image.

Looking forward to catching up with all your blogs when I’m back home.
Take Care,

Thinking of You

Hello there Blogging friends.
For my DT post over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week I made a Thinking of You card which could easily adapt to many different occasions using the Cheery Lynn word dies.

I had a lot of fun making this card. I used the Square Classic to cut out all my small frames and edged them with embossing powder on the outside and inside of the frames. I layered 3 frames with foam pads to give more dimension onto my card and kept the one with the wording flat. Layering them up onto different sizes of the Square Scalloped die. These 2 dies compliment each other so you don’t have to think about measuring out everything for your card, the dies do the job for you.

You still have time to enter the Cheery Lynn Challenge this week -  Roses, and win a Shopping Spree of $20.  Make sure you use at least one Cheery Lynn die to enter.

I’d love if you left me a comment to let me know you stopped by.
Enjoy your weekend,

 Julie x
